Sugary Donuts

When life takes you to Lancaster, wipe away your tears. Put Sugary Donuts on your to-​do list, and that nightmarish, fog-​drenched, high-​speed drive to nowhere won’t seem so bad. The donuts at Sugary are a hit.
Located in one of Lancaster’s several thousand strip malls, Sugary beckons you with its brightly lit windows and tempting counters inside. The owner practically jumped out of her seat to greet us, and bagged our donuts with a smile. Later, in the car, it was me doing the smiling, as she had packed some (free) donut holes in each bag!
The donuts here have a cake-​like quality and are less dense than donuts offered at other shops. My favorite topper, vanilla icing, was cream-​cheese-​creamy without being overly sweet.
On the negative side, my smile turned upside-​down upon reaching my final destination. My Sugary bag was empty; I had eaten all the donuts in the car.
