This business has closed. The website is no more. I found the Garden Path Suites through the website. There are two suites: The Sea Suite and the Saratoga Suite. The suites are located upstairs, over the interior design firm that owns the lodging. We stayed in the larger Sea Suite. The suite is large with high ceilings, lots of light(big windows and lots of skylights) and views of the water, Saratoga Passage. There is one queen size bed and there is a stated restriction that only two people are allowed to occupy the suite. That said, there are two seating areas, a dining room that seats 6, and a large, open kitchen with two range tops. The color palette and furnishings are elegant, the feeling is upscale, but warm. It looks like a working copy of the interior design business below it. I wish I could say there was no down side, the place really is aesthetically beautiful. The signage indicates the suites are a B&B, it is not.(The website does not indicate that it is a B&B either.) It was an odd experience, didn’t meet the proprietor until the end of our stay. She was not friendly, just very business like. Kitchen: All of the appliances were functional, but dated. There were pots, pans, dinnerware, nice flatware and odds and ends of glassware, coffee and tea cups. Oddly, there were no bowls. There was a coffee maker, tea pot, and coffee grinder. No napkins or paper towels. Fresh half and half was left in the fridge for coffee, a nice touch. Living Room: Seating for four, very comfy upholstered couch and chair. Nice Asian style touches. There was only one throw pillow on the sofas. Really needed them for the angular living room sofa. Bedroom: Comfortable bed. Nice duvet and sheets — sheets could have been softer. Inexplicably there is a huge coffee table in one corner of the room. It takes up a lot of space. The person who sleeps on the right side of the bed has to squeeze past the edge of the bed and the television cabinet. The bed should have been moved over about two feet to the left,(minor, but a strange lack of attention to detail.) The TV is an older model, odd at the price point of this property to not have access to a flat screen with HD. It is also unfortunate that the only TV is in the bedroom. Not so good if one of you wants to sleep and the other person wants to watch television. There is a skylight over the bed. It is not tinted and there is no way to cover it, so the morning light streams in like a searchlight, way too bright and uncomfortable. There is a makeshift closet space, functional, but open to the bedroom, creates some visual clutter in an otherwise cleanly designed space. There is no chest of drawers in the room(a better idea for the space the bedroom coffee table occupies). Just outside of the french doors of the bedroom is a single section of a clothing tansu(three drawers). You don’t really want to head out of the bedroom not fully dressed to access your clothing, you can be seen from the alley way below and from the window of the building next door. Bathroom: This is the most outdated part of the suite. There are some major plumbing problems going on. It is a pretty room, but the fancy floral sink has a constant drip. The water valves had been turned off to keep the water bill down is our guess. The tub leaked too, the water drains while you are in it. It used to have jets that worked, now there are just wires where the button for the jets used to be. The mirror above the tub had some droplets(soap scum?) all over it from the use of the shower wand. Note: It is a deep tub, but if you are tall it will be an uncomfortable shower. If you have any sort of knee or joint problems, getting in and out of the tub is painful. There were a lot of cobwebs at ceiling height. No ironing board or iron. No Wi-fi.(Plenty of electrical outlets all over the space though.) No information on check in or check out times. Summary: I give it three stars for view, location, size, and aesthetics. However for the price it really should have working plumbing in the bathroom. There should be more attention to detail in the cleaning(cobwebs and dust). The bedroom needs to be reconfigured to make better use of the space. Move the TV to one of the sitting areas, and at least upgrade it to a 20−32″ HD flat screen.
