We had a great time sampling wines from Bloom, especially since our samples were poured by the winemaker! Great service, great wines. We will be back!

SPOILEDDOGWINERYTERRIFIC! Staying on Whidbey for 2 weeks, & visited the Spoiled Dog after a lovely afternoon at the Saturday Bayview Farmer’s Market(definitely recommended, too). What an unexpected delight! First, we were greet by adorable Sam(a mixed Collie?), & then walked to the tasting room where Michaela(a lovely & quite wine knowledgeable young woman), took her time & was patient with us as we sampled their 6 wines for $ 5 – a great deal because they were all good/we liked 2 the best, and bought them to bring home, along w/a great winery hat & t-shirt. Delightful winery, and compared to how snooty staff can be at them 9especially in CA…), Michaela, our wine ‘tour guide’ recommends this stop while on Whidbey Island hands down. BESURETO Google for their new address!

Spent a pleasant afternoon dropping in on the Wine Tasting event going on here on Mother’s Day, and was thrilled with how accomodating the owner was, the free music was great, and the wine selection was fabulous. We tried 5 samples of wine, all whites, from various local wineries. We came away with a favorite, the Whidbey Blend but not before sampling some pretty decent wines, as well as a yummy cheese plate and a generous dish of olives. What a great little find and kudos to the owner for making a very relaxed afternoon for us.

Between the ferry landing town of Clinton and the small burg of Freeland on Route 525 on Whidbey Island, WA, where you see the giant American flag, turn north onto Bayview Road or east on E Marshview Ave. At the junction of these two roads is the Bayview Cash Store complex, warehouse-style buildings where you will find the Blooms and Spoiled Dog tasting room around the back side of Cash. It’s not free but it’s a pretty good deal: $ 1 per generous taste or $ 5 for six tastings. My husband and I split tastes and had more than enough to sample. It’s an enjoyable, open space, dog friendly, with an amiable host and plenty of comfy seating. In our inexpert opinion they are producing very good cabs and good syrahs. Bottles cost approx $ 27. Wander around the pretty grounds and check out the life sized chess set near the bike shop. Get a snack at Cash country store and get your planting groove on at Bayview Farm & Garden. Spend some time and enjoy!

They have opened up a shared tasting room at the Bayview Corner Cash Store for two local wineries, Blooms and Spoiled Dog. You could almost say we were greeted near the door by a QR code that takes you to Blooms Facebook site. Makes it easy to «like» the winery. Ken Bloom was pouring the wines in the tasting room when we arrived on Friday afternoon. We bought a plate of cheese and leisurely tasted the wines from both wineries. Tasting room was very inviting, original wood floors, very much in tune with the history of the old country store. From Blooms Winery I decided to buy a bottle of the cabernet sauvignon made from grapes harvested from his family’s vineyards in Mendocino County, CA. Also bought a bottle of Poetry(a Washington blend) and its easy to taste why the wine has been winning big in the competitions. I was very surprised to hear that Spoiled Dog makes a Pinot Noir from estate grapes grown in their vineyard on the island. Liked it well enough that I bought 2 bottles of it. Very pleasant stop on our Whidbey Island wine tour.
