I ordered a family pack for the playoffs. And I really enjoyed the food! Excellent Ribs!

Food was very good and you get a lot for the cost. The bbq sauce wasn’t to my liking it was too water. It’s a vinegar base sauce and I’m a tomatoe base sauce lover, good it comes on the side. I’ll definitely recommend this place.

Had lunch here this week — ribs were outstanding! One person thought best they ever had! Moist with a nice char. Pork barbecue sandwich a bit rich for me but others in my party liked it. Beef brisket terrific — had a mix of juicy & fatty! Both were moist & tasty & on the lean side. You can specify lean, juicy or fatty — they cut to order. Friendly service & good value. If they came to Montgomery County They would put everyone else out of business! Will definitely go back.

They don’t have many side orders to choose from. Mom dukes said their sweet potatoes is slimy and too much nutmeg and cinnamon… yuck… it made them look burnt.

Im a country barbecue kind of lady… Brisket, chicken ribs, smoked turkey leg, sides, sauce dessert etc. They hit the spot with every bite for me. Love the workers and the owners are very pleasant and personable. The sides are perfect sized for me, for I would over do it every time. Go get yourself some. They will even let you sample the menu… Meat and all Ps… Dear Mr Leon owners… Please bring back the banana pudding I finally found this item then you snatch it. Also if you could open at 9a and close at 10p that would be great for mwah!

Had take-away. Brisket was good, Ribs were good, pulled pork was good. Enjoyed my food a lot. However I will avoid the potato salad and the cole slaw, they lack love and don’t do justice to the rest.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while. The rib place near my home closed down so the quest was on! Leons is in a nice little Plaza on Lanham Severn Rd with multiple food options. Minutes away from work for me. The reviews seemed decent and I live a good rib spot. Tried Leon’s on a Saturday evening about and hour and a half before closing. Several diners were eating in myself and a couple others ordering takeout. Menu was neat and prices clear. I chose a rib combo that comes with one side. Small sides are reasonably priced so definitely add on. I chose Mac and cheese and collards. I got my sauce on the side and had a selection of spicy and Mild. Ribs have a nice smoky flavor they also seemed to be seasoned with black pepper as well. They were cooked well. Tender but not mushy or off the bone. The ribs seemed to be cut in half– wasn’t expecting this… but ok. Maybe this was done so they cold fit in the small fry-sized container. The greens were ok. Did not contain any meat but seasoned. Didn’t taste canned at all. The Mac and cheese not the greatest but not bad either. I’ll probably skip it next time though. The mild sauce was of a sweet variety. The spicy had hint of sweetness and lots of heat– pepper seeds were all in the spicy! The cashier was kind and made sure to repeat each order for accuracy. She also showed each customer each item ordered before she placed it in the bag. Great service that ensures you have all your food before leaving. Utensils were plentiful as werw napkins. I smile at people and got smiles back from staff cooking etc. That’s always a plus in my book! I’ll be back Leon’s!

Yesterday I wanted some BBQ so I went to my favorite place. Instead of getting my usual ribs and switched it up for the brisket. I took my for to work with me and ate there. Upon arriving at my garage I had planned on taking a picture of the actual sandwich but I was looking forward to this sandwich. So… The sandwich is gone and now I’m upset! Not because I wasn’t satisfied with the food, I’m upset because I didn’t know it would taste that good and I wanted another. The brisket melted in your mouth as you attempted to eat it. The spices and seasoning were perfect. The smoke ring, burnt ends all were excellent. I wonder if they would try a BBQ sauce I created???

Being new to the area we have been in search of a great bbq spot, after reading excellent reviews we tried it out! My boyfriend and I both got the brisket sandwich, I ordered beans but they were out so I had fries instead. He had the same sandwich with yams and mashed potatoes. The bun is gigantic which is fine I just took half of it off, but it was pretty bland no sauce or anything just the meat. The meat was tender and pretty decent; however, the sides… The fries were cold with no seasoning at all, the yams were WAY too sweet all sugar in way too much syrup, the mashed potatoes were bland. Overall I’m not sure why this place has so many great ratings, it was decent but most definitely did not live up to the hype.

After much anticipation to try Leon’s Barbeque, I think I could’ve done without their food. My boyfriend and I finally decided to stop in at Leon’s on the Saturday of his birthday, just to finally check it out. Now Leon’s is considered a dine-in or carryout restaurant but I wouldn’t call it the best place to sit down and dine-in, espcially when a lady sets up shop in their restaurant to sell her bootleg dvd’s and bothers you while you are in mid bite about how the quality of her Spiderman movie is good… REALLYMISS! On to the food… I ordered the pulled pork, mac&cheese, greens, and sweet potatoes. And my boyfriend ordered the beef brisket, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Now I specified to the guy at the counter who took our order that I wanted just the pulled pork not the sandwhich and what came to the table a sandwich! I wasn’t upset enough to return it so I just took the eminsely thick bun off and ate the meat, which was actually pretty good with one of their homemade bbq sauces on it, but this is where the meal goes downhill. The mac&cheese was mediocre, not a whole lot of flavor or that cheesy punch I love in mac&cheese; the greens seemed like they were missing something that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, but I think it was love, lol; and the sweet potatoes were decent but they had that syrupy, sugary sauce that was a bit too much and the sweet potatoes were still a little too firm. Aside from the fact that everything was delivered luke warm, my boyfriend didn’t like any of his food. The brisket was bland and it was missing that smoked flavor that you get from hours of smoking, and the mash potatoes and green beans he barley touched. Needless to say we had to stop at Asian Wing Café and get him something else to eat on the way home, which should’ve been our first stop in the first place. Now I am not quite sure who deemed Leon’s best beef brisket in PG County but I think somebody lied. But although we did’nt care for our food from Leon’s Barbeque, they had a decent flow of foot traffic coming in of people purchasing food, I’ll choose otherwise unless I want to purchase some dvd’s.

First of all, BIG! BIG! BIG! SHOUT-OUT to James, the guy at the front desk who welcomed me with world-class customer service. It was my first time in the establishment and I didn’t know my right from my left. But JAMES just went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed, even giving me a second sample when I wasn’t satisfied with the first. It is extremely rare to find good customer service anywhere these days. JAMES is enough reason for me to return to this restaurant in the future. Now to their food. A lot of these negative comments are exaggerated on the quality of the food. I will not say that the BBQ was to die for, but it was good enough for me to return to the establishment. At the same time, it was NOT bad by any means. I had the pork ribs and they were finger-licking good. Of course as another commenter noted, it is ultimately up to you to decide whether you like Leon’s or not. Overall, I was satisfied. I give 5 stars for good customer experience more than anything else. Otherwise, I rate the food itself with 4 stars. I WILL be back again!

Leon’s has great food. I have had the smoked chicken and the riblets which were phenomenal. The sauses are delicious, but I definitely recommend the spicy over the mild. Ordering online was a pleasant experience and the staff and employees are really kind. They have specials everyday of the week, which is why I ordered the smoked chicken. It was buy one chicken, get the other 50% off.

The Ribs here were huge full ribs not St. Louis style so you get more for your money. Great flavor, Tender and they come non-sauced the way ribs are supposed to be(sauce does come on the side tho) Not a fan of the green beans I prefer my green beans more tender but thats just me. The Collard Greans were delicious however. My wife had the Catfish which she said was the best she had in along time.

This place is exactly what a BBQ joint is supposed to be — GREAT food! Ribs fell off the bone — you could really taste the brown sugar in the rub, which is what gives them the burnt look but tender and juicy taste. Brisket was so tender I could even pick it up with a fork — had to scoop it up or it just crumbled. Sides were excellent! Corn bread was fabulous!

Great place; I found an iPhone there. (Wish the turkeys who found the two phones I lost heretofore had done right and turned them in instead of calling whoever and… but that’s not what you want to know. Speaking of turkey’s…) Smoked BBQ turkey is good. Other items tasted: ribs were flavor-able(yum) but not favorable. Fat is a better description. Brisket has been really surprising good – kind you’d think you’d find backyard home cooked or in a high class joint not in a strip mall(Seabrook Station) joint that lets a lady w/a rolling bag sell pirated CDs. That’s the ambiance. Back to brisket. Now I am not a gourmand, but I know brisket is one tough piece of meat. It comes as a layer off of(before or atop) the ribs & then you cook the ribs. Many don’t bother with it. Leon’s brisket is better than a lot of places that wouldn’t think of letting Lola roam around selling vintage Ladies Love Cool James tracks. It is pretty tender and has good flavor. Yum. Rum cake similar surprised me. Was expecting desert bone dry(think hawk shrilling & vultures circling) cotton ball desiccant cake of my childhood – I didn’t know cakes were supposed to be moist until I was in my 20s. This one though old Cap’n Morgan would have been proud of. It’s baked w/real booze & then set into the fridge to keep moist. Then they put it out so chances are if you see it available purrrrr… Look, I have only recently been there three times. Some items are just okay – I expected better chili, for example, but it was acceptable. And some items(brisket and rum cake) were a surprising treat. There’s lots more to try there and for now I’ll continue frequenting the place looking for cheap pleasant surprises.

After dreading the thought of going to Boston Market for mediocre food, but really wanting some ribs, we came to Leon’s instead. I am glad we did! Upon entering, we were greeted with a free sample of the rib meat and brisket. Ended up splitting a half pound of brisket, mashed potatoes w/gravy and cornbread. The meat stands on its own and has a dry rub on it that is so flavorful! The food was brought out quickly but I suspect since we didn’t order much it didn’t take them long to prepare. We’ll definitely be back to try more menu items and would use them to cater an event in a heartbeat, if the opportunity should arise. Everyones tastes are different when it comes to BBQ so try it and make up your own mind!

I first had Leon’s Barbeque at a work function. I love BBQ and this was good enough to bring me into the restaurant. The customer service was good. During both of my visits, the employees were very engaging and friendly. But… the kitchen is slow. Very slow. Don’t think you’re going to be in and out. You have to be patient. I’ve been to this restaurant twice now and have purchased the chicken combo on both visits. My side items included: cole slaw, green beans, greens and fries. The chicken was great! It had a great smokey smell, it was very moist for white meat and it was very flavorful. Enjoyed it. I didn’t enjoy the sauce, it has a very strong smell to it and has a bitter taste. The side items were NOT good. At. All! I could get into specifics, but I encourage you to save your money and purchase sides else where or cook your own. (This is a useless point.) but the fries pictured in the menu weren’t the fries I received. I like the«crinkle fries» & based on the menu picture I assumed that’s what I was going to get. Not so. They were not plentiful and the taste was just«okay». I would definitely return and maybe even purchase a tray of chicken for a dinner or party function, but I caution you to stay away from the side items.
