When I visited Biriyani bowl the food was just OK. I have not been to many Indian restaurants where the poppards were stale. The Biriyani was dry with maybe two pieces of meat. The dish was overly spice, and seemed old. The Sombar was mediocre and the service was slow.

This is a solid Indian food place. We ordered some classics — palak paneer and chicken tikka masala — and everything tasted exactly how we expected it to. The naan bordered on exceptional, with a light and fluffy texture and just the right amount of garlic. The restaurant interior is a bit weird — it looks like it used to be a hotel or something — but the service is prompt and pleasant. Highly recommended.

I found a hair in my food .when I complained to the«PIG“who I assume was the manager the first reactions was a denial that the hair was not in the food when you can clearly see it. Very unprofessional the way that matter was handle. Any manager that wants their business to be successful would have apologize first than deny. Untrained with no standard. customer service is shity. It’s my last time eating there. i just paid and walked away. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

So I am really picky about food, especially Indian food. I love my home cooked Indian meals and having recently gone to India and stuffed my self full there my palate has become distinct to its flavors. With that being said we ordered here yesterday because our normal Indian restaurant was not open and I’m very glad we did! We got the chili paneer as our appetizers and it was amazing! Totally sent me back to India. Although its not for those who don’t eat spicy foods. For our meal we had the malai kofta and the bhaigan bharta. The malai kofta was on point the gravy was actually gravy it was not super thin like you’d find it other places and it was bursting with flavor. The bhaigan bharta was also amazing. At first I was iffy because there were cut up eggplant in it instead of just a blended eggplant gravy but then I realized it was a mixture of both. So I tried it and it definitely tasted better than any other restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the location is great as well. The restaurant used to be a pizza shop but they’ve turned it into a pretty nice casual dinning establishment. Definitely try this place! You will not be disappointed :)

Our favorite Indian place! Have never had a bad experience here, and the dishes are always flavor-packed and tailored to your tolerance for spice. Highly recommend the Goat Biryani and the Chicken Chettinad!

So this guys had been my go to place for a decent Biryani. But the last 3 – 4 visits was extremely disappointing.

Pretty good food. We ordered chili paneer and chicken biryani. I would have liked the biryani to be spicy, especially since I made it clear when I ordered. Tasted well though. It is not authentic Hyderabad style because they used sour tasting spices(in a good way). My guess is it was aamchoor. I’d eat here again. Update: Our last trip to this place was a disaster. Barring the Pav Bhaji, all other dishes were below average.

We are so unimpressed with the food ! The butter shrimp and chicken curry were watery and not tasty at all! First and last time here. We ate at tiffin and Ekta and these places are great! Very disappointed …

Weird area in town, but that’s OK. Ordered the Dosa Masala, which was excellent! Comes with the usual broth, but also with 3 nice sauces on the side. They were not stingy with the potato stuffing. Ordered the shrimp biryani. It was delicious too. Lamb curry was good, but warning to the lame eater, it’s very spicy and very flavorful, so have to eat it with lots of rice and Naan.

This place is close to our place and we have been multiple times. Food is decent enough. However customer service is pretty patchy and depends on the day. The serving time is also pretty average. We were the only one in the restaurant on a Tuesday night. Still it took them like 20 minutes to bring in items that too one at a time. for a family who had ordered multiple items. It just broke the experience We ordered items from the menu still the items/preparation was different. So one has to ensure that the server understands the exact order.

Great taste. Chicken tikka masala very good, but could have more chicken despite how great the sauce is with rice. Veggie samosas awesome with the green sauce! Dosas are yummy but lack slightly in flavor for us. Chicken biryani very flavorful! Looking forward to trying everything on the menu. Only ordered to go, so can’t comment yet on in restaurant service.

Writing a review after eating twice. First time, appetizers, second time buffet. The food is good. The prices are ok. And the food is hot. Not mild, not spicy, not hot, but Indian hot. That is wiping perspiration, several glasses of water hot — but done in the context of of flavor. So, the gora and the fijian were both impressed, and will be going again.

We’ve gotten delivery a couple of times from here. Right on time with delivery and the food arrived hot. There’s always more than enough food. Based on my limited knowledge of Indian food, this tasted like it was from a home kitchen(in the BEST way). I felt like I was a part of their family eating it — so Thank You.

This was our first time at Biryani bowl. Fantastic dosas, filter coffee and chicken chettinad. And do not miss the chili chicken. Everything tasted delicious and authentic. The chili chicken although not as authentic as the one in Mumbai, was still absolutely delicious! The reason I took off one star, was that the veg biryani that we ordered was dry and not as good as everything else we ate.

I came here tonight since I have been craving some good authentic Indian food that doesn’t taste as if I went to a typical Indian buffet meal(filled with oil, or loaded with butter to substitute natural Indian quality and flavor). Most Indian restaurants in the North Wales/Lansdale area — are average in taste and flavor, so when I saw a bunch of positive reviews for Biryani Bowl I wanted to give it a shot and see if it lived up to the hype based on the positive reviews that were posted. First off the restaurant is a stand alone shop next to Napa Auto on Broad Street. It looks like a family owned business — based on the staff. There was an Indian Uncle and his wife who greeted me. I took a look at the menu — and the first thing I noticed was the ridiculously over priced dishes — I mean who pays $ 10+ for a dosa, that’s insane. I know and have been to quality places that don’t charge even close to that. Since it was cold and snowy, I didn’t feel like driving any more so I decided to fork out the money and give something a try. I ordered the chicken dum biryani and tomato daal — which came to about $ 24 and some change.(Holy cow! That better be some really good biryani for that hefty price tag). I waited for my order — which was fairly decent turn around time, only took about 10 minutes to prepare. I handed over $ 40 cash(and a younger guy who processed my order was a bit unprofessional(was on the phone the entire time) and didn’t have the best customer service when handling my business). So that didn’t sit well with me, when I am a first time customer. I even asked if he could give some extra raita for the biryani since i noticed the raita portion was in a really small container and would never be enough with the biryani that was packed in a round container. The guy was still on the phone so I decided to wave to the«Uncle» who seemed more friendly and appreciative of my business.(I’m assuming he must be the owner)…who would give me some attention and handle my request more professionally. He was happy to give me the extra two small containers of raita and then I thanked him and was on my way home to try out the food. I opened the food when I got home and was pleased to smell the aromas of what looked like real authentic hyderbadi biryani. I took a bite and holy crap was it spicy!!! I ordered it to be mild, becase I know true South Indian dishes can be awfully spicy because they use different spices than North Indian food. I am used to eating real typical biryani since I have lived with some South Indians from Andra Pradesh and Hyderabad — so I know the cooking is far different than North Indian cuisine. But I don’t enjoy Indian food if all I taste is the heat and less on the actual dish I ordered. I ordered the food mild too, and could barely feel my tongue from all the masala they used to cook the biryani. Thank God I got the extra raitas. All in all, it was okay — not your typical Indian restaurant, so I will say it was better than average, but definitely not my favorite. I will give it one more shot and try their buffet to get a more accurate read on this place. I wish this place was not so greedy when it comes to their prices and tapered down the heat so you can actually enjoy the dish properly. If they are willing to do this I will give this place a 4 star instead of just 3. Good luck and be ready to drink a lot of water or milk with your meal.

I love trying out the local Indian restaurants, always in search of the best around. This place is incredible. My brother ordered the vindaloo, which was phenomenal. There is nothing that compares. Savory, hot, so full of flavor. The best we’ve ever had anywhere. Ever. Also the gobi manchurian was to die for. Some places make it too sweet. This was the perfect blend of sweet, spicy & savory. Again, best ever. They also have a variety of dosa. Sometimes dosas can be a little boring. I think we ordered the«spring dosa», filled with potatoes, veggies and spices. Pretty remarkable. I can’t wait to go back to try the buffet.

Hands down the best Indian food I have ever tasted. We went to the lunch buffet twice, and knew we were on the right track because half the diners were Indian themselves. They elevate something as simple as dal to this marvel of complex, layered flavors. They are not afraid of spice, and don’t aim to please delicate American palates. That being said, less adventurous eaters can still find tikka masala or tandoori on the menu. I overheard an Indian diner next to me say that this place couldn’t be beat. There are many things I have never seen, never tasted before and I look forward to my next adventure. Everything is fresh, tasty and authentic.
