This place makes good cheese steaks. This will probably be my shortest positive review ever. I just don’t have much to say about Doc’s. They are good. If you want a steak and live in the neighborhood of Doc’s, or even if you don’t, you need to do yourself a favor and stop in. Out of all the spots in the area, this is my favorite cheese steak place. Really. The rolls are perfect. The meat is good. You can see the cheese. It’s not skimpy. I’ve had a few hoagies here. They are good too, but not my favorite. I ordered the pizza fries one time. They were ok. I would prefer more sauce and cheese. I probably wouldn’t order them again. The one negative thing I have to say about this place is they don’t have menus for you to take home. What the heck! I would order so much more from them if I had a menu to look at. MAKESOMEMENUS! Actually I have 1 more negative thing to add. You never know when they are going to close. I feel as though they close when they feel like it. No official set hours. I have called several times and they were closed earlier than they should have been. Very frustrating when you are dreaming about having one of their sandwiches. Parking is a little rough. Most people park on the sidewalk right in front. Yes, on the sidewalk. Go to Doc’s. Hope that they are open when you get there. Order a cheese steak. Go home. Eat it. Be happy.

Huge cheese steaks and super, super tasty. Tons of meat, just the right amount of cheese, and delicious! It’s one of those hole-in-the-wall places that you just keep going back to. Before moving east, Doc’s was always a first stop after a 16 hr journey from the Mid-west to Philly. Yes, it’s that good. Just go.

So my wife got cheese steaks form here last night. They were huge and delicious and an excellent price! There are very few beef and chicken steaks from the burbs my wife tolerates being a Philly girl and all. So I’m like, hey the steaks were bomb and it’s game night, I’m gonna grab a turkey hoagie… it’s huge, delicious, and was also a good price! I mean, I work in a deli at a grocery store so I know meats and if you love meats and good bread then you should probably go to Doc’s! I’ll be back, trust and believe that!

Let me start by saying that I’m from Philly, born and raised. So its the only city I trust for my steaks and I have my favorites. With that said, it was late, cold out and I was too tired and hungry to go far. So I hit up Unilocal and saw Doc’s was good for cheese steaks so I decided to give them a try. And am I glad that I did! I called ahead for pickup and the service was fast and friendly, the steaks reasonably priced. I ordered a chicken and a beef steak for the wife and I to split. & I almost wish I had got into many sizes because the steaks were HUGE! These steaks were heavy, meaty and cheesy. I was a champ and finished off my portions of the amazing steaks, my wife could only finish half. They will definitely be my cheese steak go-to.

Chicken cheese steak and the cheesesteak was very good. I was very impressed. The Italian hoagie was alittle bit too salty for me. I recommend to try their chicken steak steak. I can’t wait to try some of their other food.

You may say«What the hell is Steven B. doing sending me to this hole-in-the-wall, parking challenged, and out-of-the-way joint.» Just look at the reviews and trust me, I know these things! Doc’s ten steps to eternal life! 1. Check your cholesterol before you visit and buy any ginormous cheesesteak or hoagie. If you are by yourself and order fries you are INSANE! 2. Marvel at the price vs. quantity equation. This place is a GREATVALUE! 3. As it’s take out only, run to the car tearing off the paper with one hand and wiping the drool off your chin with the other. 4. Gaze at the massive amount of meat and cheese and roll your eyes and moan. 5. Wolf down bite after bite of high quality perfection and wonder as your stomach swells. 6. Wrap up the last half, rush home and TAKE A NAP! 7. Wake up and agonize over eating the other half. 8. Give in; eat the other half and TAKEANOTHERNAP! 9. Wake up and Google high cholesterol. 10. Take a few minutes and write a wonderful Unilocal review.

Ok, I’m originally from around that area, and where I live now, I can’t find a place that tops or comes close to docs delis cheese steaks and chicken cheese steaks. U want a good steak, this is it. Good rolls, finely chopped steak, so frigon good. It’s like a 20 minute drive from where I’m at now, and it’s worth it. Prices are good, especially on their coldcuts. I miss living down that way, u get a better cheesesteak. Gotta try it!

I’ve been going here since high school. Their food has been pretty consistently good. Best place for cheese steaks and chicken cheese steaks in the area. There’s no need to go searching!

Drum Roll Please… And the winner of Jim H’s best cheesesteak goes to… Docs Deli! Actually forget about the drum roll and make it a Liscios roll. I was first introduced to Docs about 6 years ago when I worked in the area. Not sure why I didn’t get around to writing a review but I felt pretty strongly about it back then as well. I have since been transferred out of the area and an now back and one of my first questions was, «Is Docs still good?» It is. It’s as good as I remembered. It is without a doubt the best proportioned(meat/onions/cheese to bread ratio) best seasoned(they salt the meat but don’t over sodium) best bread(Liscios is up among the Giants for me) of any cheesesteak I’ve tried in a 100 mile radius. Another plus is the price. For $ 10 you can get a 24″ cheesesteak the size of your extended arm. There’s no way you could eat a cheesesteak that size in one sitting so find a friend to share. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The service is always stellar. It’s just a pickup shop so no parking or seating. You can usually just street park out front on this moderately busy side street. Do yourself a favor and get yourself to this hidden Delco Gem and see what I’m talking about.

Bread is awesome! Was in the area for work and needed a quick bite… Little did I know I was about to have one of the best Italian hoagies of my life! I live in central pa and I can’t wait until I get to go back in the area so I can get another! — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Finally was in the area again where I could come back. It’s reaffirmed that they have my personal favorite Italian sub that I have ever had! Also, on Wednesdays They have a special where you get a small sub, chips, and a drink for $ 6.89 can’t beat that! Also, the younger guy that works there(early 20’s) has been super friendly every time I’ve visited. Awesome place!

My boyfriend and I checked out this place the other day and were pleasantly surprised. The outside is a little unassuming but they know what they are doing. I ordered a hot grinder and my bf got a cheesesteak, one word: HUGE. I’m talking one cheesesteak is the size of two normal cheesesteaks. He also got the pizza fries which were pretty fresh and tasty. I like that it is all fresh and made to order and it’s sort of a neighborhood gem. Parking is on the street of the neighborhood so I suppose that could be an issue sometimes. Overall, great place and I would definitely recommend trying.

I met drew many years ago when I moved close by. He is so friendly. I can remember taking my kids here for milkshakes when they were younger. Still my go-to place for Friday night take-out. They should consider expanding but hey, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it I guess! Best food around!!!

This place is an hour away from where I live but it calls to me and then I have no choice. Pizza steaks, my God they’re good. They chop the meat up fine and put it in sauce then on the roll. So every piece of meat is covered. I have to start eating meat out the sandwich with a fork because their sandwiches are gigantic. Hoagies, also an excellent choice. Cheese fries are on point. Pickles, yes please. Do we order and then drive an hour home to eat? Silly, no we eat our food like true fatties in the parking lot across the street. I’m not proud but if you can’t understand, then I don’t want to know you.

I noticed this place today while taking my dog to the vet. I noticed a woman leaving with a huge hoagie in tote and decided to look it up on here. To my surprise the reviews were great. As I explored a little more, I sadly realized they were from two plus years ago. But still… I was already sold and ready to take my chances. So on my way back, I stopped and got the Italian special. A large. Just got home and couldn’t wait to take a bite. This is a damn GOOD hoagie! Best I’ve had since moving to Philly last year. It’s not as much meat as the reviews suggested but still a decent amount and very tasty. Dietz & Watson. I think I can get full off of it. I didn’t take any photos to post here. But I will when I go back to try one those great smelling cheesesteaks they were cooking while I waited! I definitely recommend checking them out. Oh yeah… the staff was pretty friendly too. That always helps me out. Enjoy.

Just went yesterday and I have to say the hoagie was pretty darn good! As matter of fact, I just enjoyed a leftover piece(you’ll have lots of them) this morning and it was just as fresh and delicious as when it was made. We ordered a ham & Swiss hoagie with genoa salami. Very tasty With crisp fresh lettuce and onions. A side of fries was also perfect although a bit salty for my taste. Here’s the deal with this place… It’s offers great value and good food. A perfect combination right? So why didn’t I give it 5 stars? Service. Although friendly, as a first time customer I was confused about menu options. They offer what first appears to be a limited selection. The wall menus are everywhere and confusing. Example, I wanted an American hoagie… Not offered but if they have the meats in stock they will build it for you(Strange, I suppose they run out?) Anyway, the nice guy offered us Ham with genoa and Swiss. I felt rushed and stupid for not knowing what was available. That said, I work in the same type of environment so I get it but they need to take a moment to explain what’s available to obviously new customers. After waiting a short while I noticed they sold sharp provolone which I would have loved but again, didn’t know was an option due to confusing menu. Printed menus are not available so just know exactly what you want before entering and you should be good. Next time I’ll know that I can request a different cheese. All in all… I will return. For 12 bucks we got what appeared to be a 2 foot hoagie with a side of fries. Can’t beat that! At Primos(simply the best hoagies in the area) I would have paid 3 times that. Looking forward to trying out there cheese steaks and other items. If you can find parking, hit this tiny spot up! It’s worth it…

This place is the bomb! I went there on a family member’s recommendation and couldn’t have been more pleased. The place is small and cozy but the sandwiches are huge and filling. I got a regular size cheesesteak and a small fry. It took me 2 days to eat both. The steak was filled with tasty fresh, chopped steak and the fries came in a huge styrofoam box. I felt too guilty. lol I will definitely try their hoagies next time, but that will be about 3 months or so from now. lol

i do not know about eating these Fantastic Subs fresh, but after a day in the fridge; they were much better than the itralian kitchen’s disappointments. Here at Doc’s they are a little slow getting the goods to you, but what do you expect: phone orders coming and going, customers in line before and after you arrive to place your order. The Meats and Cheeses are fresh and the Rolls hold up to the oil and ‘Wet’ ingredients. They do fries here, too, which will make someone back at the Unilocal Ranch House mighty happy, No one placed and order and i did not smell any cooking while i waited, but i will take the reviews word for it. Next time, we’ll phone ahead and avoid the wait. The Prices make the wait worth while. Check my tips, my review needs changing!!! About that Phoning ahead: THEIRPHONESDONOTALWAYSWORK!!! Once a month, my Wife orders a Hoagie for her Mother and the Italian Special, for me. they never disappoint and i do not check it in anymore. it’s my little secret.
