Coffee Jam is a delightful, cute coffee shop with a friendly staff and delicious soups and sandwiches. I tried the tomato soup and the grilled cheese, and they were so good that I added a yummy lemon bar for dessert. Conveniently located next to The Country Inn and Suites, this was a real find.

I never really understood the idea of a ‘local’ business before discovering Coffee Jam. It is now how I define a local business. Everything about this place is personal; from the pictures next to the couch to the fact that I’m referred to by name(and I’ve only been here 5 times). There is a warmth of hospitality that’s intoxicating. I wish more small businesses would learn from the wonderful folks at Coffee Jam.

I have been to Coffee Jam a number of times and have always had great service and great food! It really irritates me that people would give them a lower rating just because they are friendly and chatty.

Always my favorite stop on the Westside of Lansing, MI. Great coffee, great soup and WiFi.

Convenient to the highway, extremely friendly staff, and the coffee was ok(better than Starbucks/Biggby for sure). Clean bathrooms. The sweets in the display looked good, but we didn’t try any.

I didn’t order any food so this review rely is only for the coffee. I ordered a quad-latte which was well made. The milk was steamed well; It wasn’t burnt, it had the right consistency, the espresso wasn’t over pulled and watery. All in all it was well done. No latte art but, I don’t take points off for that… The café was itself was a little off the beaten path — you have to drive around back to enter the café and Creyts road is a little out of the way in general. Otherwise the Café was fine, it had the same diner feel that Red Cedar Café(on the other side of town) has. Meaning it’s not as cozy as other places. One real negative however is the café’s hours. Eratic doesn’t really do it justice; They close at 2pm on some days… five on others… noon on another… They fact that they may, or may not, be open when you want to go may mean you won’t be willing to drive out of the way to visit them. But don’t worry; there are 4 cafes(2 Biggbys, 1 Starbucks, and a Panera Bread) within just 2miles of the Coffee Jam that offer regular hours

Ok this time, it was worse. First the wait time to order is annoying. There was only one person in front of me, but the small talk delays every time. Have a second register if you want to have small talk. Then I order-something cold and quick, to-go. I commence to eating my sandwich and I notice dark specks on my bread. I examine my food more carefully and to my surprise one of the new ingredients on my chicken salad sandwich is dirt. They didn’t wash the lettuce ATALL. It looks just the way it does straight out of the ground. I have a pic to show. The dirt was all over the croissant, I salvaged the chicken salad but I’m permanently turned off from this place. It’s one thing to be slow because you have personal charm but don’t skim on lettuce washing AND be slow. Ill wait for good food, but it’s mediocre at best. Add seasoning and herbs to your chicken salad please!!!

This review is based on their coffee only. This could possibly be the worst coffee shop in Lansing. It’s a joke. The coffee is watered down weak stuff. They are not coffee people, it’s like something out of the 80’s before people cared about good coffee. The ambiance is non-existent as well, skip this place.

The Coffee Jam is a great, locally owned coffee shop. They have great coffee and coffee drinks(lattes, mochas, hot or iced). They also have wonderful breakfast sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches and soups. Their baked goods are amazing– nice cookies, bar cookies, pastries etc. My company uses Coffee Jam to cater lunches occasionally. They do a great job of putting lunches together and bring it to the office. The service is beyond friendly.

The Coffee Jam is a great little café which serves up a nice selection of coffee beverages and offers a quality cup of joe. Outside of this, however, it’s a great spot for lunch or a quick bite for breakfast. The menu always features a special, along with wonderful homemade quiche and soup selections, and a nice selection of sandwich options. The staff is 5-star plus friendly and the place has a comfortable and inviting good-vibe glow that sets it apart from the coffeehouse pack.
