Ahh, the discount chain store. Sometimes you can find a legitimately good deal on a cool new item, and sometimes the coupons are worth the trouble-but not this time. We entered the store to peruse the few sections of interest to find our needed product. We find the last box of the item needed, and product in hand we walk to the counter to check out. No cashier to be found for enough time for a line to start to form behind me. A flustered cashier rushes with supplies to the checkout to see us on our way. Barely a word said, we purchase our new product with a coupon, and head home to test it out. We unpack the item– now noticing the bang-up re-packaging job that the previous owner had done. The item came out with plant material, hair and dust; there were multiple parts missing from the enclosed product; and there was a tear in the new cary-case that came with it. I am sad to say that it’s a typical disappointment. We can’t use the product intended, and must return to the store. Not a huge deal to drive back for a refund-but now our options are to 1) drive to the NEXT Dunhams to have a whole product, 2) have Dunhams order the product in to their store, 3) order ot online– ANY way you slice it, its been an inconvenience because of poor quality control.

Called store and was put on hold and left there. If you can’t make a quick call to a store and get your questions answered I’ll shop somewhere else.

I always shop at Duhnams. The store is nice and clean, people are friendly and they have very good prices. I love that they have the coupons which make the deals even better.

After my latest experiences with Dunham’s, I won’t be back. Went in last week for an advertised special on gravity chairs. We selected our chairs and went to checkout. When the chairs didn’t ring up as advertised, the cashier called a manager. The manager explained that the chairs we selected were not included in the special, even though the price and brand matched exactly with the printed advertisement we brought with us. When we decided to leave without purchasing the chairs, the manager offered us a smaller discount, provided we were willing to make the purchase in two transactions. We should have run, but decided to take the offer. We left, mildly dissatisfied, but happy to be done shopping for Mother’s Day. Since then, we found a much better deal on higher quality gravity chairs(for less!) elsewhere and decided to return the Dunham’s chairs. We were only able to locate one of the receipts(for identical transactions) and understood that store credit would be offered in place of refund for the chair without receipt. What I wasn’t prepared for was the reduced refund amount. We purchased the $ 70 chairs for around $ 60 last week at a «manager’s special» discount, but apparently the chairs(which were full price again today) were sometime available for $ 40. Therefore, even though I had just been refunded the full amount on one chair(with receipt), I took almost a $ 20 loss on the other chair. It upsets me more, because I am certain that if the price difference had been in my favor, Dunham’s would have only given store credit for the discounted amount. Even more upsetting was the attitude of the manager who came to help. Upon seeing the lower amount, the cashier agreed it should be adjusted to the refunded amount of the other chair and called over his manager. She was rude and suggested I was lucky to be able to return the chair at all. A little pleasantry would have gone a long way. The next time I need camping or sports gear, I’ll take my money to a big box store.

Huge Store, where service is just OK, but for sports, one will find what they need.
