Awesome quick stop for a beer and a snack! Great service and great deals occasionally! Great selection of craft beers on tap at all times!

I ordered off Grub Hub. It was past the estimated delivery time so I asked Grub Hub customer service for a status update. Grub Hub gave me a coupon for $ 10 off my next order. They then contacted the Restaurant and they not only didn’t charge me but they threw in a 2L of Coke for free. Only I have a no soda policy unless it is a mixer. A scoop of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream and some Shots of rum later I was buzzing off of pirate coke floats. Well needless to say hedonistic pleasures abound. I wasn’t even mad to begin with. I was just checking on my order. Customer for life.

I love Front 43. There is a fun waiting staff and great menu(THEFRIESYUM). Plus, they have a WALL of TVs. Such a great place to go for football season, considering you can watch about 16 different games at once if you wanted to. They often run specials on foods and everything during wings games, lions, msu, um, any state of Michigan team, so that is always a plus! They have about 20 craft beers on tap, all MAINLY Michigan based, so it is a wonderful place that I will continue going back to.

I ordered a craft beer that didn’t taste right — it was stale maybe. This was one of my favorite beers so I know when something isn’t right. I told the bartender and she said that other people had been drinking it and they didn’t complain. Usually a bartender will get you something else in this situation — she didn’t seem to care. Perhaps service like this is why this place was completely empty by 11 pm on a Friday night.

Been here a few times now. Food is GOOD! Haven’t had 1 thing that I did not like. Beer selection is limited, but they have some good craft beers that rotate. Small, but decent atmosphere. Give it a try!

I give it a two because the place has potential and poor service ruins any experience IMO. Tons of TV’s and a cozy modern atmosphere. I went here one day after seeing a FB post about their Mac and cheese with a picture of a great looking dish, so I chose to order it. The menu said nothing about onions in this dish whatsoever, yet the dish came out COVERED in onions. Who puts onions in Mac and cheese??? Oh well, not the end of the world. I politely sent it back and the waitress recommended that she could«just scrape them off» to which I laughed and said«no, they are baked into the cheese and pasta». She made a face and sent it back. While waiting for the new dish to be made as advertised, we were«fortunate» not to be able to watch any of the college football games or NHL hockey on their 20 plus TV’s, but we got to watch the Wizard of Oz, while the entire staff sat on the customer side of the bar and watched while playing on their phones, while we, and the two other patrons had empty drinks. Real professional. After a patron asked for a refill by shouting from the other end of the bar, the bartender grabbed him a beer and then went to go back to her barstool to watch the movie, when she stopped in front of me and said«you know if you’re allergic to onions, you should just ask your server if a dish has onions before you order stuff at restaurants». I lost it. I looked at her and laughed and said«so it’s my fault that your menu doesn’t explain your dish accurately and your Facebook picture from TWO days ago shows a completely different dish? In addition to the fact that same Facebook page of yours advertised Mozzarella sticks that apparently no longer exist?» Do I go to IHOP and ask if there are onions on pancakes or Dairy Queen to ask if there are onions on the ice cream? What logic is that? I wasn’t mad at first, but now you have given us crap service and you basically blame me for the order being sent back, that’s awful customer service” She then got defensive and claimed that she knows how to give good customer service because she’s a «hospitality major at MSU». The manager then heard the shouting and got involved and took care of the situation. I have been in the hospitality industry for 17 years at some pretty exclusive properties and have never seen a brat bartender pulled the hospitality major card. Either MSU’s hospitality program sucks(highly unlikely) or this was just another young bartender who thought she could get by on looks alone while not having a single grain of work ethic or common sense. Either way, I have never had an argument with a server or bartender… Perhaps I shouldn’t have interrupted the staff from movie time and just went across the street to Trippers instead.

Went here tonight for the first time. There was a group of four of us and we were able to find a seat without a problem. The server came right over to our table and answered any questions we had regarding the decent sized beer menu and other drink menu. I had a burger which was cooked perfect and was obviously fresh. Others that I was with had a quesadilla, fish&chips and the wings. Everyone was satisfied with their food. Oh and the french fries are a must. They had plenty of sports going on and the atmosphere was that of a small town bar without the rude regulars. We will be going back.

I really wanted to like this place. The location is great. That space has been lacking a good bar since Jimmy’s Pub moved. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. On my first visit, we arrived to find that the biggest TV was set to Wizard of Oz instead of one of the many games that were on that night and the sound for Wizard of Oz was blaring throughout. The bartender was singing along to all of the songs instead of paying attention to the customers. Another employee was sitting at the end of the bar eating food from the place next door, which should’ve been our first clue. I ordered the pita bread and hummus and the pizza bread was burnt. My boyfriend ordered the mac and cheese, which had onions liberally mixed in, despite the fact that onions were not listed on the menu nor pictured in their frequent advertisements on facebook. My boyfriend is allergic to onions and there were too many to pick around. He sent it back and ordered fries instead. The bartender(between singing along to Wizard of Oz) yelled at us for sending it back and stated that we should have told her about any allergies before we ordered. Obviously, since there was no indication that onions were even a possibility on mac and cheese, that didn’t come up. We explained that to her and told her that she probably shouldn’t treat customers that way. She responded by saying that she was in the right because she was a hospitality major, so she knew what she was doing. Worst. Service. Ever. The fries that came out to replace the mac and cheese were burnt as well, but at that point we were already done with this place. The manager noticed our displeasure and apologized for her bartender’s actions and gave us a gift card to try them again. Eventually we took my parents there for a beer to use the gift card. The $ 2 Two-Hearted beers that they advertise so much weren’t fresh and didn’t taste good at all. Then, when I tried to use the gift card that was given to me, it had no value on it. Needless to say, I won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend this bar to anyone.

Decent sports bar with lots of TVs. The food is meh and alright if you are really starving/drunk. 10 bucks for a cheese dilla seems pretty steep to me… I like the location and looks like there will be some outdoor seating once it’s nice out. Cool.

Best pub in mid-mich. $ 216 oz two-hearted. Spartan fries, nachos, and fried pickles are the best! Beautiful and super friendly bar staff. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Nice new bar with a lot of beers on tap. We went during a happy hour and it was pretty dead but it was a Monday. I tried the quesadilla and it was quite good. I could taste all of the different flavors in one bite. My husband tried a burger and said it was amazing as well as the fries. I didn’t have any wine but I noticed there was quite a bigger selection than I had thought there would be. We’ll be back again to try the wings we keep hearing about and probably when there’s a game on since they have about 10 tvs above the bar. Note– they’re not open for lunch anymore.

Food: Not bad, but not great. My first meal here was Fish & Chips, which was hot and crispy, but under-seasoned. Next time I branched out with roasted pork nachos. The pork was again under-seasoned, but very tender. The toppings were of decent quality, but some of them were just kind of heaped in the middle. Overall the menu is pretty safe, and prices are reasonable. With better execution it could be a good complement to a few beers. Drink: I can only speak to the tap selection, and it is not bad at all. In a lesser beer city it would be downright fantastic, but Lansing/EL offers some great craft selections at places like Crunchy’s, Beggar’s Banquet, HopCat, either Reno’s, or Zoobie’s. Front 43 won’t compete with a Crunchy’s or Reno’s on the breadth of selection, but it could take inspiration from Beggar’s or Zoobie’s and carefully curate its taps. On one recent visit, there were two raspberry brews, several selections from the same brewer, and more than one imperial stout(wait, did I just complain about that?). I wouldn’t mind seeing the list spread out a little more over styles and breweries. Atmosphere: Front 43 is a long, narrow pub with the bar on one side and high-top tables on the other. The décor is modern and very clean, but maybe a little generic. A wall of B1G helmets over the taps is a nice addition. Each time I’ve visited, Front 43 has been dead, dead, dead. I have not been in this bar with more than 6 other people. Service is right around what you’d expect with a slower bar — a little lax, with most attention being paid to friends or regulars. With a wall of TVs and a narrow pub layout, this place could be a perfect spot to watch the football games or any other sporting event, so I hope business picks up for that.

We met friends here to try it out as several of us had noticed it opening and are always interested in new gathering places in Lansing. We really had a great experience! The guys had burgers which they rated Very Good and they tried several types of beer. The fries were hot and fresh! The waitress was friendly and the crowd was lively. Lots of TV’s, all had sports going. Fun neighborhood pub!

Fantastic beer selection and I hear the food is modestly priced and prepared fresh and hot. Ask for the long Island tea… divine. Bitches can mix a drink

I hate to be the first review for this place because I’ve got bad news, it wasn’t awesome. I went with friends a couple of Fridays ago at around 8pm. I had driven past a couple of times, and subsequently Googled. What I can say is that their Facebook page is super festive(and active) and their website is on trend with the cool kids– but that energy is completely missing from the bar. It’s one of those long and narrow bars like in NYC. Huge TVs playing sports-ish things. I sports-ish because the night we went in, the World Series was on and not a single television was playing it before we asked. However, there was documentary about baseball playing on two screens… Any way, they have a nice list of craft beers and then a full bar of everything else. The crowd was completely miscellaneous and dont think this place has it’s character or personality yet. Our waitress was really short with us, acting as though it was busy – which was not the case. To give it the full Unilocal go, we also ordered a couple of their ‘Small Plates’… two things— 1.) The buffalo wings were SPLENDID– I gave two stars for the wings as a standalone. And let me say, I am some kind of wing connoisseur, and their wings… mmhmm. 2.) The Calamari looked like mozzarella sticks(see pictures) in the scariest possible way, and we tasted them any way(gahh), completely weird all around. I dont want to say anything about them anymore. I can’t say I will go back(except to get wings togo), it was just a mediocre experience all around. Reminds me a lot of an airport bar, but like if you had a layover at Walgreens before running the rest of your errands. Based on the FB traffic and the wings, if someone convinced me that I just picked the wrong day, and that it’s really stellar on Saturday night or something, I might give it another go.
