Friendly staff & tasty food. Sandwich, soup type of place. Sat on the patio and really enjoyed this place

We stopped in for breakfast/brunch while in Lansing for a dance competition. First, we were happy that they were open on a Sunday in downtown as it seems some other establishments are not. Secondly, I’ve been wanting to eat here since I’ve had a muffin from them a few years ago and still dreaming about it! I ordered the broccoli cheddar quiche, my husband had the breakfast burrito, my daughter had the chicken fiesta wrap with blubbery applesauce, and my mother in law had a breakfast sandwich. Everything was very tasty and served fresh and fast. We saved ourselves room for pie because that’s the main reason we came! We had coconut cream, banana cream and apple Dutch. Very creamy and just enough to satisfy our craving. The restaurant is very clean, has free wifi, and excellent customer service. I’m sure we will be back in April for the next dance competition!

Fast and friendly service, plus great menu. Even on the busy days the staff is courteous and patient. Great place to hang out and work after the morning rush.

Our first time in Lansing, and we found this great place for pie! This doesn’t taste like processed factory made pie, this is almost as good as my homemade pie. The sweet girl at the counter made a great suggestion, which caused us to order an extra piece. We were not disappointed!

First time eating at this establishments. Food was GREAT! However, ordered a drink and they took forever making it, and then it had no flavor. I love atmosphere, all men in suits, very business casual.

The broccoli quiche was terrific. I don’t recall seeing quiche on the menu in a restaurant previously, so it was a nice surprise.

The question is not, pie or no pie, but what kind of pie. Walking in it feels like a Panera and if it were not for the pies in the display case and in the title, I wouldn’t know they had it. There is no pie menu, but a list of pies on one of the pillars. A search for pie menu online will give a list as well. The strawberry rhubarb crumb is sweet and tasty. If you are not a fan of sweet things, might not like the berry pies. I tried Lucy’s Cuban as well, this hit the spot and is a good Cuban sandwich. Next time I’m in Lansing I will be sure to get a piece of pie!

To pie, or not to pie… To be honest I did not know what to expect when I walked in. It had the ambiance of a Panera bread combined with a Starbucks. But watch out! This place will lift you off your feet with the best pie I’ve had so far. I sat by the window and enjoyed half a turkey and cheddar sandwich with a bowl of their tomato bisque soup, warm apple crumb pie topped with caramel pecans and a cup of hot coffee. Absolutely delicious. The soup was amazing and the pie was to die… For. I cannot wait to have another trip to Lansing and visit this place. Happy dining.

The benefit of choosing to eat at a chain restaurant is consistency. There is little variation in the recipes and it’s usually comfortable and familiar. I like the quiches and the Cuban sandwich here but they missed the target completely when coming up with a healthy sandwich. The quinoa almond wrap is horrible. The idea of high quality grains, spinach and almonds is great. The execution sucked. The whole sandwich was saturated in some milky dressing substance that made the bread/wrap disintegrate at the first attempt to pick it up. This is after said sandwich leaks all over your hands and plate. The mushy pita wrap and tasteless dressing take away any great flavor or texture this sandwich may have had. This one needs to go back to the drawing board. The blueberry apple sauce rocks.

I’ve been here one other time with a friend and got the Mediterranean veggie wrap which has an amazing dressing on it. Today I got a reuben and it was delicious the rye bread they serve it one looks amazing and the lady who took my order was wonderful and very kind. The atmosphere is a lot like a coffee shop and I really enjoy eating lunch here. Their apple pie was as yummy as I expected.

I just watched a manager(she acted like one anyway) push down trash in a trash bin with gloves on then, with the same gloved hand touch a sandwich while cutting it. Yuck

It was ok. Nothing spectacular. I didn’t actually eat any pie. Had a Reuben sandwich and a bowl of Italian Wedding soup. Both were decent but I’ve had much better. I’ll have to try the pie next time(though it’s unlikely that I’ll come back to Lansing to do so.)

We stumbled upon the Grand Traverse Pie Company while in Lansing for a conference. There really wasn’t much else in the area, but we were overall pleased with our experience. The service was friendly and our orders were accurate and timely. The bacon, egg & cheese on a croissant was pretty decent, and their coffee did the job. Nothing extraordinary, but for the area, it was just what we needed.

I highly suggest this place if you’re in the area. If you’re a politician or a staffer than this should be the only place you go to. The prices are high for what you get but the quality is far higher than their neighbors. It’s a simple and no BS restaurant that offers good quality food.

I find most Grand Traverse desserts to be a little too sickly sweet for my taste. I like fruit pies where you can really taste the fruit coming through, not just something that tastes either like a) a future cavity or b) a future cavity with a dash of tartness. That said, their downtown Lansing location opened up several months ago, and they’re a nice place to have around. Their soup/sandwich/salad menu options are pretty typical, and not usually my first choice for lunch, but they have a lovely outdoor seating area that’s great in nice weather. I also have to give them props for customer service — their staff is somehow unrelentingly cheerful and they often offer free coffee and drink specials to lure you in. If they stay busy into the winter months, I imagine it’ll be a nice place to grab a cup of coffee then, too.
