This place used there own discretion to kick me and my friends out for absolutely no reason. We paid a cover and they kicked us out of their club with no explanation and no refund. Do not support if you plan to have a good time.

Decent size club and dance floor. BUT, DJ’s were HORRIBLE. They have multiple screens and all it said was their names over and over, DJ Duke and DJ Skitzo. they seemed be there for their own entertainment and def NOT playing to the crowd. Maybe I’m just used to the clubs in Tampa(Ybor city) and Orlando clubs but DJs were awful. If it weren’t for the DJs it might not be bad. We thought the DJs would see the empty dance floor and change it up til they found songs that worked but they just played to themselves. My girl and her friends got their attention and kinda hinted and pointed out that scenario and they actually WAVEDHERAWAY! and pointed to the door. Extremely unprofessional. There were at least 4fights in the few hours we were there, but I will give a grade A to the security. They were on it quick. And the dress code was non existent. Cover was high for a Lansing club. Would not recommend this club.

Cover was a little high. Drink prices were decent. Music was great. A great place to go dance. Nice to see a hip hop club so mixed with people.

Pricey but worth the hiphop O. D! Minimalist décor, wild crowd, made me feel like I was in a big city again, less nostalgic of my home. I think I like downtown Lansing now ;)

WORSTCLUB I HAVEEVERBEENTO. Not only were the drinks awful, and way too strong, but the management have serious anger problems. Not only was half of our group kicked out, but the bouncers were rough with the women. One woman in our group was even put in the middle of a fight between a bouncer and another guy and got hit. I understand the need for security, but they took it to an extreme. Never going back.

Last night was my first, and last time visiting Harem. This by far is the most overrated bar in Lansing. For starters, the«strict dress code» was confusing since their website only says” No T shirts or Hats”. I wore dark jeans, heels, and a top and had no problem, but I was outside for a bit and saw what their dress code standards were. If you are wearing sneakers or white shoes you will not be allowed in. However, if you know someone in the club or have a friend who does, this rule will not apply to you. I was in a VIP section so did not have to pay cover, but from what other people were saying it was anywhere from 10 – 15 on Saturday night. The inside was very average looking, nothing too special from a typical club. The chairs and tables are comparable to a «Post» or «Tavern on the Square» type bar(although Tavern on the Square is probably a little nicer than this place). They had these pictures in our little area that would fall off the wall anytime someone walked past. Odd that they wouldn’t put them up a little more securely. As far as the atmosphere goes, it is a nice crowd that’s in there, but there were way too many people there after midnight to the point where no one could really move. Drinks ranged in price from about $ 5(domestic beer) — $ 8 for well drinks, which for Lansing is a little higher than other places. Unless you have a waitress just for your table or want something other than beer, expect a very long wait for drinks. At the actual bar, wait times vary from 10 minutes to almost 30 after midnight. They are way understaffed and the people at the bar were not serving people in the order they walked up, which caused many of the thirsty patrons to get upset. We tried to ask our VIP waitress to bring us drinks but she blew off every person who asked, saying she«was way too busy». Hmm, that’s strange, didn’t we just pay $ 300 for two bottles for better service? All in all, this is a fun place to go for a drink or two, but with the cost of cover and poor level of service from the staff it may not even be worth your time. The bars on Washington Square are just as fun and will give you great service in half of the time.

After visiting their website & listening to their voicemail greeting, where they emphasized a ‘strict’ dress code & ‘upscale’, I was under the impression that this place would at least look like Enso on the inside. However, Harem Lounge did not look as dramatic as it did in the pictures on their site. maybe it was the candles in the photos. there were no candles when I went there. The place itself wasn’t bad. It wasn’t old or run down, it was just ordinary. One of their VIP sections looked like sofas within an outdoor, iron-gazebo. The bar was made of some wood-like material, with a plain, unframed rectangular mirror behind it. There were a few wrough-iron screens here & there, as well as some red transluscent cloths draped from the ceilings, but other than that, it was rather lacking in ‘poshness’. Maybe they just had a really tight budget. The dance floor was ok, but could use more dance-floor lights. The security boys were very nice & courteous, but not very well dressed. Some of their suits looked strange — ill-proportioned & asymetrical as if they had been machine-washed & not dry-cleaned. Overall, it’s still a decent place to go to dance if you have many friends with you & just want to enjoy each others’ company.

This new dance club just opened last week, so decided to try it out over the weekend! First nice touch, they sent out VIP door passes via email to people that visited their website so we didn’t pay cover and Ilooked like a hero to the group I was with! The inside was decorated in kinda an «Arabian Nights» type of theme with semi private seating areas and VIP areas that were more private(but not completely private). Lots of cushy chairs and fabric in rich colors. The dance floor was a bit smaller than I had hoped, but had a few raised platforms, etc for the exhibitionists to dance on. They were doing their best to keep a line outside early on, but later they didn’t have to try. It got packed, and definately with plenty of «beautiful people» so people watchers take notice. This is the new place to be seen! My only small knock is that the drinks were pretty expensive, but I guess that is to be expected in an upscale club. Overall, a pretty cool place. The excellent part is that it is a DANCECLUB, not a restaurant/bar that has a DJ a few nights per week. They are only open Thu, Fri and Sat from 8 – 2 and dress code is in effect(Thank You!) so put on your coolest club clothes!
