In regard to the review… the center is not the problem. But we are at the Discover the Dinosaurs exhibit. They told us for $ 22.00 per child($ 18.00 per adult to just walk around and pay) they would be allowed all access to the activities. Once in, toward the middle of the exhibit, they started to charge for each activity, approximately $ 8.00 per child. How do you tell an excited child no, when this is the excitement? All of the parents/adults walking around are saying the same. They are using the word«hussled». I understand that items to be purchased are extra, but activities were supposed to be included. I am not from Lansing, drove 45 minutes to visit, and extremely dissapointed that the center would allow such chaos and misinterpretation. Will not attend another activity here without clarification. Sad.

After many years of being hosted at a shabby hotel nearby, the Michigan World Language Association conference got moved here beginning last year, and this is a HUGE upgrade from where it used to be! The facility is huge, so they’re able to use about 8 rooms at once, along with a huge space for the vendors(they need more vendors so the exhibition hall doesn’t look so empty!). There is a small café area that sells concession stand type food, like nachos and hot dogs, which is great if you’re hungry but don’t have time to go out to eat. In addition, their caterers for the reception are great– there is a bigger variety and better food than at the previous location. However, they do not refill anything as often or as much as they should. They refilled the hot foods once, and gave no refills to the veggie trays or cheese and crackers. I feel like they should at least consistently refill everything for an hour, considering it’s a 2 hour reception. I haven’t gotten to stay at the Radisson, which is attached via a skywalk, but I love having the option of staying there and not having to drive anywhere or even go outside to get to the conference. One of the only downsides is that I would assume when I walked into a classy-looking place like the Lansing Center that their bathrooms would have the same atmosphere. The toilets in all of the bathrooms I went in were yellowing, and although the bathrooms were clean, they didn’t fit with the feel of the rest of the center.

After posting my initial review stating that the furniture needed some updating in certain areas, the management reached out to me to find out what furniture I was referring to. This speaks very highly of the customer service and satisfaction levels that the Lansing City Center strives for. I will definitely recommend this place to others that are invited to conventions there, or are looking for a venue to host one at.
