Michigan Emergency Movers

Worst moving experience ever! I planned to move from Michigan to Mississippi. I made a reservation with U-​Haul to load my furniture on a U-​Box. Ron Nickens from Michigan Emergency Movers brought me the U-​Box. But then he asked me how much I was paying for the move. I said about $ 1100. He said he already has a truck going to Mississippi and he can hitch a trailer to it for my stuff and charge me only $ 500. I was surprised by the low price and accepted. I asked if I needed to make a new reservation. He said no just call u-​haul and say the u-​box was too small and we’re seeking new moving options. The next day he came with a trailer and said he has to charge me $ 200 for gas because they’re getting out of their way to go to Starkville. He also said if I want my stuff unloaded at my place, I would have to pay another $ 300. So I ended up paying $ 1000. But when I came to starkville a few days later I found many of my stuff broken and damaged. My TV was out of the box and broken, my big couch was broken, the dinner table was broken, my coffee table was badly scratched and many other items were damaged. I called him and sent him the pictures but he never got back to me. I needed a receipt for my university to refund me, but he never gave me one. Sucks right?

My parents hired this company to pack the Uhaul trucks they rented. My parents are disabled and were unable to do it themselves and I live elsewhere in the country. They were initially very pleased with the crew that came. Upon arrival of the trucks at their new home, they were surprised to find lamps not in boxes, tv’s not in the tv packing boxes that were provided, and almost all of their furniture scratched and ruined. The owner Ron, has sent many horrible emails to them accusing them of wrong doing, not providing the proper materials (they provided blankets, they didn’t rent them from uhaul they had them, and special boxes for tv’s and lamps, as well as plenty of moving tape), not telling the guys how to load the truck, abd my personal favorite «You purchased the truck and packing supplies. We loaded it as best as we could. YOU DROVE IT». He claims the use of duct tape to seal the boxes after the flaps were folded interlocking is stronger than packing tape, which it isn’t especially in the summer when the adhesive let’s go. Honestly, the damage to the heirloom furniture was sad for parents, the owners reaction to the mess when they notified him is really upsetting. They weren’t seeking payment, they didn’t plan on suing him, although he did say they should get a lawyer and that he had one. He has responded with nothing but anger and plain mean. When they write their review on Move helpers, he responded to them by saying they were slandering him. He should buy a dictionary and look up
does not apply to quoting ones words or showing images of damage. This man doors not handle situations with grace or professionalism. I wouldn’t recommend him.

I called Ron Nickens (Owner) and told him that I needed some short notice help to get some moving done. He said, «No problem» and got me some moving help within a couple of days. I would HIGHLY recommend this business.
His workers were on time, well mannered, and phenominal! His rates were VERY reasonable, even when I needed extra time than what I had planned for.
