This place looked promising based on the reviews, but unfortunately we just didn’t see it. I ordered the jalapeño steak dinner and the meat was tough/lacked flavor. Plus we sat outside and were approached by a bum asking for money so that didn’t make for a good experience. Maybe my expectations are too high. But we’re from Chicago and live near the St. Charles/Geneva area, where there are great Mexican restaurants on almost every corner.

I gave up on this place a while back, but my latest visit really was great. they have really improved. The mexican tacos were super tasty. It does get crowded on weekend’s and a fest time. I will be coming back for more.

Big Mexican win for Lansing. Very authentic food. This spot is very popular so it might be best to come off peak times.

The BEST chicken chimichanga I’ve EVER had! I’ve been here twice already and ordered the same thing both times and I highly doubt I’ll ever order anything but the chicken chimichanga.!The outside is crispy, the chicken is shredded, they put the rice and beans inside instead of just on the plate like all other places I’ve been to. I wish I had multiple stomachs so I could eat 5 of them in a sitting. The salsa unfortunately is actually among the worst. It’s not spicy nor is there much taste and its flat. My friend and I both dislike it. My friend gets the breakfast burritos, eggs, and a quesadilla. Whenever Pablos is mentioned he freaks out so I’m going to take that as he thoroughly enjoyed his meal too. Forget 5 stars, this place is 10⁄10.

WOW. I wish I lived in Lansing, so I could frequent this place. This is by far, the most authentic Mexican I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying, at least compared to what I know from my California and Mexican dining experiences. I had the Tamales and they were superb– from the delicious corn outer-layer to the pork on the inside, they were prepared and cooked perfectly. The service was also very friendly and helpful– especially to my friend who didn’t know what she wanted and needed descriptions and recommendations. In fact, both of my friends who went with me also thought their meals were outstanding(but I can’t remember what they ordered since I was so focused on my own food!). We had a long drive back to Ohio after our lunch, but we were happy and content the whole way down thanks to this delicious meal. I made my husband jealous(but not on purpose for once) with my description of the food when I got home.

My husband and I came here for lunch today and were not disappointed! I’m from Houston, so I think I know good Mexican food when I see it. My husband had shredded beef tacos and I had the pozole. I didn’t try to my husband’s tacos, but he said they were good, so I’ll take his word for it. The pozole came out piping hot and was a pretty decent size portion. The meat was cut a little too big, but was tender enough for me to cut it with my spoon. The broth was delicious and flavorful! The service was excellent and quick. Overall, I would say thus is pretty close to authentic Mexican food that you can get it Lansing. I will definitely be coming back to try the other menu items!

Stopped here for brunch this morning after I tried stopping and Golden Harvest and it looked like a frat house. Pablo’s was a great decision! I was met with outstanding customer service and homemade salsa with chips. I had a breakfast burrito and it was one for the ages! Eggs, cheese, bacon, cheese, and potatoes. You guys need to check this place out!

I’ve spent the past 5 years in Texas and become a bit of a Mexican food addict. Personally, Pablo’s is one of the two — edged out slightly by El Oasis — legit Mexican places I’ll go to in Lansing.

I’m conflicted. Eating at Pablo’s, I know they are totally aware of who their clients are and are serving the exact the food the people demand– which to my palate, is 100% boring. If you’re the sort of person who frequently complains that Mexican food is «too spicy», this place was made for you. The salsa was completely watery, just tomato juice and flavoring. The mole enchiladas have a good sauce to them, but when it’s served completely without heat it’s boring. I don’t think my food even smelled a single pepper on its way out of the kitchen, and that’s sacrilege. With a fistful of roasted chiles and a bottle of hot sauce, I’d bet this food is outstanding. As-is, it tasted to me like«white people» Mexican. Looks good, serves up all the hits, but there’s no depth to the flavor whatsoever. For authentic Mexican, El Oasis is still king.

This place is authentic and phenomenal! Full menu all day. Great spot for breakfast. We love their breakfast burritos(ask for the Mexican cheese instead of American), heuvos rancheros, chilaquiles, and French toast. For lunch/dinner, the Mexican tacos are amazing! Guacamole goes great with them. Friendly staff and welcoming regulars. Family owned and unique recipes all made in house. One of Lansing’s unadvertised gems!

As with all countries, Mexican food is based on the region it’s originated from. Pablos reminds me of the Northern region. Maybe Northeastern. Some of their food can be a bit bland though including the salsa. The hot salsa just taste like Red Hot. This is not typical of any region I am familiar with however and why I didn’t give them the 5th star. The menu is what reminds me of the region. The choice of meats for your dish are an awesome twist. Breakfast all day too! Even though I don’t care for fried Gorditas(we make ours on a comal) they aren’t really greasy here. I really like them and order them often. I typically order a side of chicharron to put on my Gorditas. Yum! Service is always quick and friendly. They don’t frown on special orders or requests which I love. Most important to me, fresh ingredients! I’ve never had a poor experience here.

This place is phenomenal. They are family owned and operated. The waitstaff is friendly, quick, and eager to help in any way they can. As for the food. amazing! The prices are cheap and the food is simply the best Mexican I’ve had in Lansing. It’s a nice environment with festive Mexican music playing all the time. If you plan to go around lunch time, plan to either wait or arrive early. Most of the time tho, you will be able to get a table. Highly recommend this place.

The best tacos in Mid-Michigan! The Asada mexican tacos are the greatest thing on the menu. The abundance of onions, cilantro, and meat was superb. My boyfriend had the Asada, Al Pastor and Bistek chalupas and he ate them in 3 minutes… so tasty! Great place, will definitely come back when I’m in Michigan!
