Great place to quickly grab some healthy and tasty lunch. Their chicken shawarma is the really good. One of the tastiest hummus I have tasted. They have other options for chicken which I only get if they don’t have the shawarma. Prices are very reasonable. The restaurant atmosphere is not much to write about but is adequate for a quick lunch and most people order takeout. The staff is courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend this place for a tasty Mediterranean lunch. Since its downtown, make sure you have coins for the parking meter.

I should have know when I called… ALWAYS take the first sign! After calling the order in because I was pressed for time I thought nothing of it. After being told all the ‘typical’ middle eastern fair they do not carry, I decided to roll with whom i had on the phone– for time sake… After getting to the restaurant and trying to find the restroom, things started to fall in place. To get the skinny of this whole story I will tell you is and ain’t: *ain’t somewhere I will be frequenting again *is a place you can get bones in your chicken schwarma(never experienced that before:-?) *ain’t NEVEREVEREVER spending $ 4.00 for a lemonade that is hot, disgusting and

I miss this food so much. They truly offer awesome food. I’m back in my hometown in San Antonio, and I can honestly say that they make the best Mediterranean food!

I’m so bummed. The last several times I’ve been to Sultan’s Express, I’ve been very disappointed. I always get either chicken schwarma or a chicken schwarma salad and the last several times I’ve bitten into grizzle. I stopped going into Sultan’s Express for several months but today I decided to give them one more try. Not only did I bite into grizzle(AGAIN), but my Greek salad was drenched in olive oil to the point where there was 2 inches of olive oil at the bottom of the container. It was disgusting. There is NO reason there should be that much olive oil. I could only eat a few of the vegetables as a result. Unfortunately, I’ll never go back. It’s unfortunate because they have fantastic hummus.

One of my favorite Mediterranean restaurant is Sultans Express downtown. I like to get there before the lunch crowd. They have really good tabouli and hummus. To me they have the best burgol in town. It’s not dry, it’s very moist and flavorful.(Burgol is Wednesday’s lunch special) I love that you can get fresh juice here. Don’t forget to try the meat samosa. They are not greasy.

I get their chicken kabob and schwarma sandwiches at least a couple times a week for lunch. Tasty as hell. Not to be confused with the Sultan’s in East Lansing

After eating in Dearborn my middle eastern food standards have gotten pretty high. Even though sultans isn’t the best, but for the price you get pretty decent food. I’ve tried the chicken Kebob and chicken shwarma sandwich, both huge portions and pretty tasty as well! Served with humus and garlic sauce and your pick of whole wheat or white pita. The humus is great. The garlic sauce is more mayonnaise than I like but not too bad. They do sell halal meat which Is an added plus.

Sultan Express is my favorite place for a workday lunch in downtown Lansing. The«daily lunch experience» special is always a safe bet for a cheap and filling meal(about $ 6), but I’m also a big fan of their sandwiches and schwarma salads. The daily special is pre-made in big batches, so you’ll get your food faster, but getting fresh-fried falafel(yum!) or cauliflower in your sandwich only takes a few extra minutes. For sides, their hummus is solid, but I usually pick the house salad since you can get pita with garlic sauce for free. Plus, the salad dressing is delicious. In cold winter months, I also really like their lentil soup, which has got a nice mild curry flavor. Unfortunately, the temperature control on it has occasionally been a little off(lukewarm soup in winter! what a tease!), but it’s otherwise delicious. The line moves fast even when it’s long, but if you want to avoid the lunch rush, go around 1 or 1:30 for zero wait time. Just be warned that they may be running low on the daily special by then, but everything else is available.

A good place to eat when you want something different. Ask for the garlic sauce to add to your hummus, it’s yummy. I like the chicken schwarma best. Byblos had better chicken but it closed, so Sultans will do. When the office had it delivered, we expected it between 11:30AM and Noon, but didn’t get it until 2:00PM. Some sort of mix-up. They didn’t knock off anything from the price. Update: OOH! They have this dish with white meat, boneless chicken, carrots, onions, mushrooms and other stuff. It is the BEST thing I have ever eaten. I don’t know what it’s called, but I would ask for the Chicken & Carrot Stew. Sad that they don’t offer it every day. So far it’s been by luck that I arrive on Chicken & Carrot Stew Day. Geez, my mouth is watering. Update: 02−29−12 — Dined in. Temp outside, 35 F. Temp inside, 62 F. How do I know? Electronic thermostat on the wall next to my table. If you’re trying to drive your customers away, this is the way to do it. See you when it’s 85 F outside!

When I first came to Lansing, I decided to check this place out and see what«middle eastern» cuisine was all about and I instantly fell in love. The staff are friendly and the manager takes the time to get to know you and call you by name when you come in. The food is a real bonus. Everyday at lunch you can get a chicken shawarma lunch special, which includes chicken, rice, hummus, pita bread, and a salad or lentil soup. Sultans also changes the different side dishes so its always something different everyday with different tastes. If you want something extra, you can always get a fried kibi and a baklava dessert on the side which is an added bonus. Some other good combination is the shish kaufta, which is a BBQ lamb, with the aforementioned sides. For the first time eating middle eastern cuisine this place was a huge hit for me. In all if you want good wholesome food with not too many calories to burn later on the treadmill, this place is definitely a place to check out.

Really good chicken shawarma! They also have awesome smoothies. These are the only things I’ve had here so far because I’m still new to these foods, but I really like this place.
