Fat Cat Tavern

Went on a holiday weekend. Usually there is a lack of parking but since it was a holiday the parking was no issue. Tried the Beer Cheese Soup and it is amazing!!! I wasn’t sure if I wanted it since some places don’t make it well but the waitress offered to bring a sample which was great because everyone at my table ordered some after tasting it. The ambiance was nice, pool tables, TV’s, and a juke box.
Ordered the crab cake with wonton wrapped shrimp. The crab cake was spot on and I didn’t even need the dipping sauce. The shrimp were very mediocre and not something I would prefer again.
There were several daily specials for amazing prices. I will absolutely return!!!

Came in for a business lunch. Matt was the server and very nice, the food however was criminal. I ordered a Chicken Caesar salad, hard to tell the difference between the chicken and the croutons. Maybe you can put the chicken off to the side, but a good portion of the lettuce was frozen?!

I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always a good time. The food is excellent. Their garlic wings are the best in the area and their veggie burger is the best I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is clean and well stocked. Their drink prices are good and they have specials every night. After 10pm they have a half price menu. I will be back and recommend them to all my friends.

Food is good. Staff is great. The only downside to this place is that management allows their patrons to swear and use the «f bomb» to excess. I spent 45 minutes eating a meal while the person at the next table spewed filth to his friends. This is not the only time this has happened. Next time will be the last for me. I’m not a prude, but enough is enough!

Love the food, prices great, couldn’t ask for better server (esp. Cassie). BUT the patrons at the tavern speak so loudly with lots of exceptional BAD language. Wish there was a code of conduct on the wall somewhere??? No reason for swearing…

I am a frequent visitor to this restaurant and the food is always good the drinks are always cold and the service sometimes is good sometimes is terrible. It all depends where you sit in which bartender happens to wait on you if you sit at the bar. I usually bring two to three friends with me and my bill could be $ 80 to $ 140 and I leave a tip of at least 20 to $ 30. I’ve only had one bad experience there apparently they have a bartender who doesn’t like working there she gave us very bad service ignored us in only came when we called her name. I commented to her that you should smile a little bit and be glad that she has a job and we were going to leave a nice tip she looked at me told me she wasn’t happy but if I bugged her or pissed her off I would find out what makes her happy. She turned around walked away and would not wait on us the rest of the evening we had to get a waitress to come over at the bar to wait on us. I have never been threatened by a bartender anywhere anytime before this incident. The people at the bar told me she’s a long time bartender and she has a terrible temper and one lady said she was a b****. Other than that the food is great and it’s a nice place to go if you avoid this one bartender

We cam here because we heard the burgers were good, and didn’t know what to expect and although the food wasn’t horrible, all of it was bland, and the best part was the fries, not much to expect, or look for ward to here

Haven’t tried all their food but I like coming after 10pm for their half priced appetizers. I usually get the boneless wings with medium sauce on the side. It’s pretty good. I like coming on quiet nights but they do have a jukebox, karaōke on some nights, and sometimes live music. I’ve been on a night they had bingo. I don’t know if that was for a special event or what. I like the staff, they are all very friendly. And most importantly everything is clean.

Always enjoy coming here. I’m happy they moved closer to the house! The beer is always cold and the food is always good. The staff is helpful and always buzzing around. It gets busy during snowbird season but most of the people are pretty nice.

I know this review will probably be deleted just like all the negative ones are but I figured it’d be worth posting and hope that some people will see it.
First of all, before I begin… My friends and I LOVE going to FCT! It has plenty of room to be able to go with a big group of people, fun games, friendly people, and great atmosphere! I can’t say the same about their waitstaff because we’ve consistently had problems with them. Unfortunately, last night was the worst experience for us and it was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Our waitress… Oh where do I start? She was incredibly rude to us from the VERY beginning! It’s like she sees us coming in and immediately decides to treat us horribly because of who we are… Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We deserve to be there just as much as our hearing peers do. My group of friends are EXCELLENT customers and some of the best tippers! She ignored several people MULTIPLE times when trying to put in their drink/​food orders. When they would ask where their drink was or what the hold up was (understand… It was like 10 – 20 minute wait just to get her attention, then another 15 minutes just to get our glasses of water or drinks) and several people complained that she would roll her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh like «UGH!» She would also serve and pay attention to tables around us that were filled AFTER we arrived and they seemed to be treated very well. Why not us? This doesn’t even begin to cover all the other horrible things she did to us last night. She cussed my boyfriend out behind his back knowing that he wouldn’t be able to hear her but his hearing sister caught her. She slammed our tickets on the table, and kept bringing each person a new ticket after each drink order… Even though they had repeatedly told her to OPEN A TAB. We weren’t planning on leaving any time soon, it was as if she was trying to rush us out of the door. She talked back and had the WORST attitude possible. Other patrons even approached us and apologized for what they saw her do to us and expressed how bad they felt for us. We weren’t even causing a ruckus or acting inappropriately. Just a group of people trying to eat, have a drink or two, play Jenga, and mingle… Just like every single patron in that bar.
We tried talking to the assistant manager about her but she wouldn’t give us the time of day. She didn’t do anything about it. So some of our hearing peers have volunteered to call the manager to discuss what happened and perhaps EDUCATE their staff to be more sensitive to the minority and to treat everyone as equals.
I hate that this happened because we brought a GREAT group of 12 – 15 hard-​working adults who make money and deserved a good night in a place we LOVED going to… She lost her chance to make great tips and the tavern lost a huge group of great customers. Tampa Bay has one of the biggest Deaf/​HoH communities and unfortunately, FCT lost a lot of loyal patrons over time because of how their staff treat us (this wasn’t the first time).
We all decided to leave and go to a different bar and the service there was AWESOME! Their waitstaff treated us just like everyone else and everyone was so friendly! We had a GREAT night and I think we’ve found ourselves a new favorite bar! :) If the staff at FCT would be educated and perhaps get some sensitivity training, or something related on how to behave professionally… We MIGHT give this place another shot. This has been an ongoing issue with FCT and they never put any effort to solve it so I doubt we will… :(
Such a bummer. We really liked this place.

I haven’t been in a bar since like the late 70’s but this was really nice. Our waitress was absolutely friendly, bubbly and amazing and attentive. The food was also for a tavern absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed myself. They have something for every day to do and I like that. I look forward to coming back and enjoying.

Good draft beer selection. It took a while for our server to get to our table for the first round. Pretty sure we were the youngest ones in the place for Friday happy hour. I’d go back. It was a good low key bar with reasonable prices. I mean… who can pass up Fireball Friday? Not this girl!

We used to go to the other location and had such good service and the food was really good. Very disappointing return. Had a breaded cod sandwich, it was nothing more than a frozen piece of fish probably microwaved and thrown on a bun. Supposed to come with kettle chips. It did. In a bag.
This place, since it moved, has gone seriously downhill. If it weren’t for a group that meets here, I would not come back.

The jalapeño poppers were huge and too hot.
The smoked fish spread was a lot like smoked tuna salad, would’ve been better without relish in it.
The overall atmosphere was nice and clean. I’d like to see fat cat decorations or something.
I’d come back.

I know you here this a lot, Best Wings Around, but this place does have the best wings around. Fall off the bone perfect. I’ve never had bad food here, always good. Now it does take a little longer to get your food for whatever reason but it’s worth it. My coworker and myself come here quite often for lunch. Play a game of pool, grab a beer, and a good meal.

Much cleaner than the last place in this spot. Upscale sports bar. Upscale type menu. Dig it.

Bright, clean, & updates local hangout. The food is good. This local hideaway is in a strip mall and while rather plain on the outside, it’s impressive inside. Blonde wood bar and hardwood, this local establishment is a gem you have to try for yourself.

Place is nice and open.
Service was good, but the food was meh. I had a steak with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Steak really was not good at all. Really tough. Broccoli was well cooked and the mashed potatoes were good.
While I was there they had a little game for everyone to play which was pretty cool.

We go every week for Tuesday trivia. We used to go there a few times a week.
However…
Since they moved we have had wrong orders, raw chicken, dirty glasses, argumentative waitress’s, over charges, bugs in drinks, beer bottles covered on broken glass.
Tonight it was only a bug in the vinegar cruet.
I have dubbed the place the land of the diminishing tip. We like trivia but why pay for mediocre food and sub par service?
$ 7.50 for a Bailey’s over ice seems like a bit much. Guess I’ll just stick to the bottled beer if we continue Tuesday trivia. Just eat at the BK next door beforehand.

This new location is awesome! The bartenders are so much fun. Everything looks extremely clean! The food and drinks are amazing! Last call tue-​sat is 1:30am for both food and drinks. The reduced menu after 10pm is the way to go! They have karaōke Thursday and Saturday! Trivia buzz time! Pool table! Mon $ 1 taco, $ 7.99 fajitas and $ 2 20ounce margaritas. Tues $ 2 Long Island. Wed $ 6.99 any ½lb burger. Thurs domestic bottles $ 1.50! Fri $ 2.50 fireball shots. Sat $ 2 Bacardi. Sun $ 2 captain.
The servers definitely made my first experience great! They were suggesting drinks and food that all were exceeding my expectations! I had fun the whole time I was there. Will be back a lot more, definitely adding it to my weekly routine!
