7-Eleven

The neighborhoods a bit sketchy. But the employees there have always been nice and helpful. The place is usually kept pretty clean. Sometimes they do hold things a bit longerthen I would care for with their hot food. But they do have a great coffee and muffin deal right now for two dollars.

I’ve been here more times than I care to admit.
The patrons here include numerous crackheads of all shapes and colors, the old drunk or two, and a smattering of local prostitutes looking for a pack of cigarettes or some booze to complete their night. In better weather, there will likely be a bum or two sleeping on the concrete parking lot near the back of the store.
Once, I saw a complete nuclear family panhandling here: a wheelchair-​stricken mother, her husband pushing her, and a 7 year old all begging for change to pay for a hotel that night.
The cashiers and the few regular customers seem surprising cavalier about the unwholesomeness that abounds here. They generally have a laissez-​faire attitude about everything, which I suppose comes with the territory of being a cashier for an off-​Strip 7-​Eleven late at night. They barely blink when I bring in my dog; I guess that is nothing when they probably have to deal with people in the throes of a meth binge.
Somehow my friend has managed to con a discount on beer as a frequent customer here. So, extra star for that. And prices are already reasonable.
Just be careful.
