They are closed on Sundays. Unilocal said open so caught an Über there before our flight. Alas they were closed.

I love that this place is right by UNLV. It makes food runs so worth it, especially on Tuesdays when they’re only 1.25, with the exception of shrimp tacos. I always get potato, beef, & fish tacos. The potato taco is AMAZING! Wish I could describe it, but it’s just something you have to try yourself. The owner/manager is always very friendly & welcoming which is a plus!

This place has a rustic feel to it and it’s amazing. The food was perfect! My daughter absolutely loved her pork burrito. The employees are so nice and helpful. Some signs around are so funny too. They will make you,“Lol.” They also have a huge amount of sauces and such to go with your meal. And don’t forget to get desert!

Baja easily earned their five star review from me! I came in Monday night and was the only customer(as UNLV students are currently on holiday break). The manager immediately sprung into action, accommodated my Unilocal check-in for a free potato taco, and recommended the fish and beef tacos as well.(From 4 – 7PM tacos are only $ 1.25, bringing my grand total to $ 2.50 plus tax. Score!) I only had to wait about 5 – 6 minutes(and their TV was turned to Monday Night Football game, bonus!). My tacos were absolutely loaded with lettuce, cilantro, tomatoes, and other goodies! My favorite was definitely the delightfully crispy potato taco, but I enjoyed the beef and fish tacos as well. I’ll be back… soon!

This place is an awesome local college spot. Right next door to UNLV they have 1.25 $ tacos from 4 – 7EVERYDAY!!! And Thursday the bar is open and got good drink deals perfect since there very little choice in bars close to UNLV. The tacos are amazing the drink specials are the best I would def come here everyday if I had class everyday

Baja is definitely a great taco joint! Being next to UNLV campus, it’s a great college spot. Even the inside gives off that college-town feel. When you walk in it’s the regular, small restaurant area and to the left is an attached bar for the 21 and older kids! I absolutely love how they put the place together, photos of their customers all over the wall and funny signs scattered everywhere too. Onto the food, No other place can beat the specials here at Baja! They even have happy hour everyday 5−7pm!!! The tacos are great as well. I say they’re some of the best in town esp for the price. All people know about is Taco y Taco and Tacos El Gordo, but I honestly think Baja falls in the same category!

Look… it’s a dive shop. It’s small, and you’d miss it if you weren’t looking for it. But the food is awesome. The food is fresh. The food alone deserves the 5 stars. What sweetens the pot here is how cheap everything is. The food and drinks are as cheap as you’ll find and the employees are sweet as well. The owner, Art, he is a doll. He is normally always there, or he was there every time I have gone. This is really a great well kept secret. It’s worth the visit and all the follow up visits after that.

This place was our first stop after an early flight in from Seattle, and wanted something light but filling. Not a surprise that the so call«City that never sleep» most restaurants are closed for breakfast/brunch! We happen to stubble upon this place while searching for any opening. Our experience there was great, the owner was friendly(very talkative) and the quality was amazing compare to their price.

Found this place after picking up friends from the airport as we all headed to Burning Man. What a gem! Super local — great tacos & margaritas. Perfect as a last meal before heading into the desert. Happy to head across town for a break from the noise of the strip.

Been coming for 5 years now. Skeptical my first time but I saw the happy hour special. Was shocked how good it was! Reminds me of tacos from tijuana almost. All the tacos are good and so are the burritos. They cook it for you to see and quick too. Highly recommend this shop!

I came here for a quick lunch wanting to try something different(ie not a chain restaurant). Based on the Unilocal reviews, this seemed to be a perfect choice. It is located in a small strip mall just north of the Bank of America. Walking in, it is very small(only 7 tables in the main eating area) and very dark. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The manager told me they are known for their fish tacos, so I tried one of those. I also ordered a chicken taco.(Each cost $ 1.79) Plus when you check in on Unilocal, you get a free potato taco($ 1.49 value). Each of these is a soft shell taco. I got them with all the fixins(shredded lettuce, cheese, chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro, etc). The fish taco lived up to reputation — delish! The potato taco was also excellent. It was like a cut up latke on a soft shell taco with lots of chopped veggies on top. Not dietetic but delicious. The only weak taco was the chicken taco. It was tasty but it was a bit short on the chicken. I had to add the salsa that came with it to give it flavor. Lunch for under $ 5 — great value! And free Wi-Fi. Overall, this was an excellent choice for a lunch.

If you love tacos(who doesn’t) than come to this place. It’s amazing tasting tacos and the price is nice to take in too. Located right by UNLV, and it’s a small chill restaurant. One taco is $ 1.75, on Tuesdays they have a $ 1.25 taco special. The ingredients in the taco aren’t too overbearing over Eachother because the way they make it is just right. The owners are always there, so you really feel at home eating there. I think this place isn’t well known, which is why it’s empty everytime I go, but it makes it fast to get your food which is good so no waiting hahah. Def recommend this place!

Great fish tacos, they don’t batter the fish they grill it. The Baja burger is an excellent value and delicious as well. Located close to UNLV, it’s a small cozy dive. The staff are very friendly and will sit and talk with you. Highly recommend if you’re looking for good inexpensive food off the strip.

Amazing fish tacos and super friendly service! The shrimp tacos are banging too. So good I unintentionally forgot to share when I went with the fiancé and finished the whole thing lol The tacos are a bit small but super fresh. The fresh salsa is perfect. Also, there are usually specials(ex: fish taco Friday). Owner is usually there and seems like a nice guy.

Right, so I had the fish tacos there, and I seriously had to search for the fish. I mean I am sure there were some itty bitty teeny tiny pieces of fish, more like they waved a fish over those tacos. Humph. bummer, I wanted to like this place, but that was a major disappointment. Pass…

Baja Bar & Grill has become my new favorite University restaurant. Located in the Smash Burger parking lot, Baja is just down the street from UNLV. The prices are definitely agreeable, particularly for the specials. A number 1 for example, includes 3 tacos of your choice with a drink for $ 5.50. The manager informed that Baja’s specialty are fish tacos, but alas, I will never enjoy them because I’m a hardcore vegetarian. I settled instead for 3 potato tacos, which were quite delectable by the way. I was pleased with the presentation but even more so by the taste. Baja’s potato tacos are probably the most unique and creative tacos I’ve ever had. Everything from the corn tortilla to the last bit of cilantro was perfection. I even got to sample a fried oreo for dessert with the Unilocal check-in. And of course it was delicious. The atmosphere at Baja screams University friendly. The manager is decked out in red clothes and Rebel gear and the restaurant is plastered with bottle caps spelling out UNLV in large letters. He’s a friendly dude. I have to acknowledge some of the other Unilocalers complaints — yes, the place needs a facelift and for some that’s unacceptable. But if you like hole in the wall restaurants and are looking for some good food, you won’t mind.
