When I first started using Clear, the speed was great. Over the past few months however, my Internet will actually shut off at least once every 10 minutes. When trying to download an update on my Playstation 3, I was told it would take over two hundred minutes to complete, but of course my Internet shut off before it could get past 1% completion. After bringing my PS3 to a friend’s house who has Cox Internet, the update took only 7 minutes to finish. Clear blames«congested times» but no matter what time I try to use the Internet, it never works. Just to write this review, I had to use my phone’s 3G Internet.

They are still playing the«there may be heavy network usage» card. My download speed was .07 mbps. Dialup is faster. Perhaps now that they are hawking Sprint, rather than Clear(that always used Sprint’s network) new customers will get better service. For those of us who still have Clear devices, it’s horribly slow.

I have been a customer of Clear for about 5 years. It started off with a much better speed, but as of a couple of years ago I noticed that it was running much slower. I thought it was my laptop just getting older until I went on vacation and saw my laptop perform with speed at the hotels. Now I have been home for over a month and it has gotten so slow that around 10 days ago I loose internet in the evening. I can hardly read my email. It is too slow for Facebook or Craigslist. I called and the tech told me that there was too much going on in my area at peak times. I don’t care if they have peak times!!! I pay for internet service 24 hours a day. If you can’t provide me service when I want on then why are you charging me? I am canceling my service ASAP. This is a worthless service.

Well, I got the service on Friday and still haven’t been able to stream anything. I moved the modem around my whole house and it says that I get 3 to bars but when I did the speed test online( …it will test he speed of your connection for free) I wasn’t even getting 1 bar of speed it was like .85. SUPERSLOW! So after multiple calls and«troubleshooting» I was informed that pretty much I will never get 4 bars and that the tower that I am linked to is «congested» and it has«peak hours» and the hours are pretty much anytime the Internet is running slow. I am in a «high coverage area» BTW the middle of Las Vegas. Never get this service just spend the extra ten bucks and get COX.

My husband and I were very disappointed in the customer service we received by clear wireless. We have used their service for over a year now. Recently our wireless router stopped working properly, and when I finally called tech support to see if they could help with the problem, we spent an hour on the phone with them, only to find out our router was defective and they couldn’t fix the problem. The frustration came when we were offered a replacement router, in which we had to pay $ 9.95 shipping and handling in order to receive. We pay $ 90 a month for their service, so for them to charge an additional $ 9.95 for something that was their problem in the first place was ridiculous. When I expressed this to the tech he agreed, but the supervisor on duty refused to reverse the charge. For me, it wasn’t the measly $ 10 it was the principal… If you want to keep loyal customers, you will do anything you can to keep them happy. There are plenty of companies out there that offer the same services, and believe me, as soon as our next month is up, I will be dropping them and going with a different company.

Avoid Clear at all cost no matter where you are located. I saw my 2 year contract through at 67kbs for the last year and 11 months. They withdrew my monthly fee at the end of my contract and when I called to cancel service 1 hour after my contract expired they told me they could not refund any amount or pro-rate any amount. CRAPPYOUTSOURCEDCUSTOMERSERVICE, DIAL-UPSPEEDS, UNPROFESSIONALBUSINESSPRACTICES… Stay Clear of Clear internet…

I enjoyed Clearwire for over 4 years. I was paying $ 30 a month at the time. Now this year I have no choice but to pay $ 50 for mediocre speeds and that was the lowest cost plan they can offer now, at least from what I was told. Their 4G home internet is «designed for movies, gaming, etc.» but really it doesn’t matter because you will get throttled to 250kbps 95% of the time. That’s what my test comes out of for the past month and I am only able to download anything at 40 kbps max(I also use a wired connection and my modem has all lights lit). I have trouble loading basic pages like news articles and facebook because of the unreasonable loading times that I feel like I’m back in the dial-up ages. Their ads are misleading because it is unlimited and it says we won’t have to worry about throttled speed like OTHER ISPs. the bandwidth limit before the throttle is very low. Just enjoy streaming some movies in a day just fine and then next thing you know you’re waiting 10 minutes to watch a short youtube video for the next 364 days. I am thinking about cancelling because now streaming on Netflix is a joke and I have to wait about a week to finish downloading the Steam games I paid for. Clear customer service keeps saying that«At times of congestion all internet speeds are equalized between all customers to enjoy the same high-quality internet speeds» .uhh last time I checked it’s 2011 and there’s no such thing as high-quality dial-up speeds that are 40kbps and I didn’t know that internet congestion happens 24 hrs a day 365 days a year. I don’t know what happened because this is definitely not the same ISP that provided me with good internet service all these years.

Horrible internet speed; couldn’t even load youtube vidoes without waiting on most days. Horrible customer service with reps that are very confrontational. I would steer clear.

Clear has sold my email address to spammers! I’m sure it was them because I created a specific email forwarder at my own domain name and never used it for any other purpose. The service is okay, a little faster than my old DSL, but I really do hate spam. No reputable company would ever do this. It really is shocking. I look forward to changing ISP’s(again) ASAP.
