This little café, housed in what was very evidently previously a Chinese restaurant, has a huge breakfast and lunch menu with lots of variety. While the breakfast menu is typical coffeehouse fare with some Latin influences, the lunch menu skews more Latin. I appreciated immediately that they provide Stevia as a sweetener option right at the table. We tried it out on a lazy Saturday morning and we basically had the place to ourselves. The host/server seemed to be working front of house alone, and she was extremely polite, welcoming, and hospitable. The interior décor has been updated slightly from the previous Chinese restaurant décor, but the ceramic tile walls were not appealing and the bright orange paint was not doing it for me. I would much prefer more earthy tones or Restoration Hardware colors in place of the orange. I got the Spinach Omelette which was served with choice of toast and country potatoes. It was extremely hearty and the plate looked beautiful(sorry I did not think to snap a pic). The omelette was not seasoned sufficiently but it was hearty and filling and hit the spot. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. The wheat toast(I chose wheat toast) was buttered and lightly toasted. A selection of jams is available on the table. I also ordered a hot tea and they have a large selection of teas(both herbal and black) which I really appreciated. My boyfriend ordered a hot coffee which was good but it had a few coffee grounds in it. He also ordered the Huevos Rancheros which he was not 100% pleased with because it was not served piping hot. Our total bill came out to $ 26 plus tip. I enjoyed breakfast here but it was not anything to write home about so I’m not sure if we will be back. The menu has a lot more variety than Denny’s or IHOP, the place looks really clean, and the service that we experienced was very good, so I would recommend checking it out to see what you and your family think.
