Going Nuts

Time: 8:27pm/83°F clear
Purpose: Continuing on with my walk around from previous night. Wanted to cover everything at GBS has to offer before trip is over.
Set-​up: Located in the Grand Bazaar Shops complex this place is consider hole in wall by all means. While other places allowed some to walk in, this place conducts business from single sliding window. The front has a section for display purposes only mostly pack with bags and boxes various nuts & dried fruits. Looking from the outside you can see kettle machine, ICEE maker, mini fridge, syrup bags, full sink/​prep counter, iPad, dried fruit bins, two tier rotating display stand all business essential.
Staff: Older man around early 60s could be owner too. Warm greeting while offering samples of everything he has on hand. I was told all nuts are made on site. He turn kettle on then pour cashews in as I watch on. Scoop it up and handed a fistful to try. He ask what do you think? I responded warm and crunchy. Feeling bad for him showing me all of this so I made a purchase.
Cleanliness: Grade A, well kept as most items are sealed and box. Didn’t see anything pointing to a problem. Cooling off box had some loose pieces not belonging to that lot, but very minor thing.
Eats/​Drinks: Bag of cashews 6oz snack size $ 4.99 from batch he just made. Like I said warm and crunchy lightly salted. He cut the price down to $ 3 because there were broken pieces instead of whole. To me still a bargain no matter how it comes, nuts are pricey. I’ll be coming back to him on next visit if he remembers me. Not sure if he will or not, I wrote down Unilocal on paper pointed it out to check within a few days.
Main Features: On site roasting of various nuts.
Products/​services: Pecans, peanuts, cashews, almonds, dried fruits, gummy candy, ICEE (cherry & blue raspberry only), assorted cold juices/​sodas, mason jar sizes, gift baskets, single flavor, mixed or match, snack to family size, takes plastic.
Punch Lines: Modest cost, limited to four types of nuts, made on site, samples given, warm service, friendly, knowledgeable, mixed and matched, pleasing flavors, well-​prepared, kitschy décor, truly addictive, casual and good, worth the wait, well seasoned, kept its standards.
Tradeoffs: Only basic nuts offer to keep prices down. If you’re buying a assorted mix you’ll end up with more peanuts.
Final Thoughts: It’s not surprising to see a nut place here as its a bazaar. Prices are better than in room hotel type were you’ll be paying at least double or more just by picking it up. The name Going Nuts almost made me didn’t want to check out the place. I’m thinking the guy might be going nuts if I didn’t buy anything. You know that feeling. Totally opposite of that, he didn’t mind if you do or not. Be was in his own league. Good for those walking around all day who may want some sort of snack, but not paying excessively for it.
