Java Vegas – Gold Coast

This small coffee shop is located in the casino area near the front entrance of the Gold Coast Hotel. Ordered the less sugar coconut smoothie with boba priced at $ 4.25 plus 8.10% tax and it was a good choice. The boba wasn’t warmed up in the microwave like at other places to make it softer but it was nice and chewy at room temperature and the coconut flavor was just right.
They also serve Starbucks coffee, Winchell’s Donuts and yogurt and fruit bowls. There is a Texas Donut that is unbelievably huge priced at $ 3.75. It comes in powdered sugar, plain glazed, chocolate glazed and sprinkled Other baked items are average priced.
One big negative for non-​smokers is the open air concept and the sign that states «NO SMOKING IN THE DINING AREA». I understand the sign if they have an enclosed dining area but that’s a joke as the cigar and cigarette smoke from the casino floats around the entire gaming area and into their open air space.

I saw nothing bad about it! Limited starbucks drinks (very well quality), selections on pastries, donuts were pretty good (not low quality) ice cream is good too, prices are a reasonable.

$ 2.20 for a pretty flavorless Americano. I’ll be drinking the crappy coffee in my room for the rest of the summer thanks.

I came here after taking a break from gambling. I got a Rocky Road ($ 2.49) in a cup. They give a lot even though it’s a single scoop. So I thought it was a good deal but it was Dryer’s Ice Cream. They have some pastries and coffee so good place to get a snack.
Service was ok. Just pay and go. There’s also some seating here.
Overall, cheaper than other casinos so I don’t mind coming back here again.

coffee was good. it came hot and fast. (that’s what she said). pleasant girls that helped us out. oh, and it didn’t cost half my mortgage like Starbucks does.

What the hell is Coast Casino doing these days?
If it ain’t bad enough that most the people who work at Gold Coast doesn’t speak a word of English, you guys also put them on the job without any training? Gimme a break!
Maybe you should teach these guys how to make coffee! You ever heard the expression: «He is so stupid that he could mess up a cup of coffee»? Well, my coffee here was oddly colored. It looked like water from Floyd Lamb Park after the ducks and geese sat in it all day. At least tell your workers that you need at least 1 tablespoon of ground coffee for every ¾ a cup of water!
There was no more half n half left. I asked for more and the lady who couldn’t speak English declined to retrieve more. She instead screws open the lid and starts scratching the bottom of the metal container with a long spoon until she could gather up enough curdled diary product. Before I could even stop her, she dumps it into my coffee. She literally put some kind of cottage cheese looking sh! t into my already f*cked up cup of coffee. At first I felt bad for the lady because she was obviously from a 3^rd world country and it was normal to not waste even a drop of food even if it had gone bad. Her behavior was identical to what I see in documentaries about starving people in Africa or South Asia. Apparently, from what a dealer told me, Coast Casino actually had a program where they recruit poor people from countries like Ethiopia and Sri Lanka. So, that’s why half the casinos are staffed with people from there who are still adjusting to American lifestyle. I didn’t complain to her. But, I didn’t drink the cup of coffee either. The coffee went flying off the 3^rd story of the parking building.

This hotel is off the Strip but close enough to make it easy to get to. The hotel runs regular free shuttles to the strip if you want to go.
The hotel has a been refurbished a couple of years ago, but still looks a little shabby compared to the RIO and PALMS casinos that are across the road from it.
The hotel has cheap and decent rooms, a good buffet, some excellent value restaurants.
The Poker room has 2 or 3 cheap tournaments a day which is a great place for people to hone their poker skills without spending a fortune.

Great small casino with off strip location, free shuttle bus to sister hotel The Orleans. The Deuce (bus) runs from outside, multi storey car park, well kept gardens. even if the grass is fake! The casino itself is a really good size, not too big, and not glitzy– Just laid back. There are several bars and restaurants, I can recommend the seafood buffet on a friday night $ 17! it attracts lots of people from the surrounding area, especially China TownI’ve never seen so many crab legs in one place!
You can obviously get room service too, My room was really good value, the bathroom fittings were a bit retro, especially the bath/​shower all in one cubicle thing– but it was extrememly clean. Got a welcome pack when we arrived toothpaste, a ladies razor, soaps, vouchers The check in staff are very friendly and courteous. They do have a casino shop/​off licence so if you can’t be bothered waiting in line for a drink you can buy from the shop. I’ve been told that they may knock it down and build a newer/​bigger casino on the site– which I think will be a shame!
