Not fine dining as advertised, although I honestly expected that in a Hooters hotel. Beyond that the food is really awful. We decided to eat here because the line at Hooters bar was so long. Now I know why. Absolutely everything is processed and not cooked well. No chef in that kitchen. Chicken Alfredo was flavorless with chicken that was overdone and dry. Nachos were stale with the lowest quality, congealed, canned cheese. The guacamole was literally grey and tasted like it had been in the fridge uncovered for days. I give 1 star because our waiter was nice and attentive. How could he not be in a huge and empty restaurant? Take my advice and go wait in line for hot wings next door.

I stayed at the Hooters Hotel and tried this steakhouse, since the ads all over the casino convinced me to stop in for a visit. It was the middle of the week so it wasn’t very busy. This is a low-key steakhouse but nonetheless has a decent selection and friendly atmosphere. I tried the T-bone steak with fries and veggies on the side. I wasn’t disappointed. The steak was juicy and the fries were pretty good. The hotel’s Wi-Fi signal reached the restaurant. Overall I’m satisfied with the Mad Onion. It’s not a bad place at all.

Stopped in to get one of our favorite Prime Rib special for $ 10.95 but I am Sad to say it is no longer available for that low price. They do have a prime rib dinner which includes a bottle of mirassou wine and dessert for two but definitely not for the low price we enjoyed before

the lady who seemed like manager, was personable, accommodating & overall helpful. she was willing to honor possible expired coupons & went out the way to get an infant stand for my little baby who was in her baby cradle. the place doesn’t close until 12:00 a.m. we got there 10:30 which should’ve been more than enough time, unfortunately, we felt rushed by the waiter. we weren’t even offered any dessert. even though our deal was set by Groupon, it would’ve been nice to see what they have to offer on their menu(drinks, food, dessert). it would also make good business sense. we had a Tbone and ribeye and it wasn’t the same enjoyment I experience when I eat those types of steaks. one good thing was a misteak(pun intended) on their part. my wife asked for mashed potatoes and they gave her fries, so we ended up w/extra food:) I wouldn’t go back unless I have a groupon… that is gifted to me. 10÷15÷15 Thurs

Very disappointed. I ordered a New York Strip, I asked for medium. I got a well done, full of gristle and over salted steak. I could easily tell the vegetables were frozen. My husband ordered calamari. Unfortunately it wasn’t any better than my steak, very chewy. Worst than my steak was the service. I never saw my waitress again after she brought us our food. Won’t be back.

Giving a one star is just for service alone. Service was average not good not bad just average. But the food was TERRIBLE!!! I have had better prime rib at a cheap casino buffet even Santa Fe casino is better then this trash. Prime rib was seasoned with beef bullion and a ton of it. After biting into it I wanted to puke! It was pure beef bullion on the outside! The baked potatoe was microwaved and the veggies were frozen. You are better off going to Golden Corral which is garbage but will be way better then this place. Thank god I did the Groupon deal even as cheap as that was it still wasn’t worth it. The best part was the real lemon the put in our water glass. I was a little scared when we ordered the wine but thank God it didn’t come out of a box. The martinis are not that bad either.

This place was recommended by a friend who is a Vegas local. They supposedly have the best rib eye and my husband’s been wanting to check it out. After lots of walking on the strip we were ravenous when we got to Hooters where Mad Onion is. We got there just a little after 5pm and there was no wait which was perfect. The hub ordered the prime rib(it was $ 17.99) and I had the crusted mahi. The prime rib had a lot of fat, the mashed potato was creamy but the gravy tasted like it came from a soup packet. The mahi was a little too dry and the sauce was too sweet. I guess that’s the first and last time we’ll be going to Mad Onion.

My friend and I ordered the prime rib dinner and Mmm Mmm Mmm! It was goood, I got mine with the baked potato and vegetables. I’m not giving them four stars because veggies weren’t so good, kind of sloppy. reminded me of cafeteria vegetables back in elementary school… lol. Anyways, their au jus sauce was tasty along with the horseradish sauce, I’m not a fan of horseradish, but this horseradish sauce was not strong at all. Their baked potato was just right, it came out with a nice sour cream and butter. You also cannot beat the price, buy one get one free prime rib dinner. Having prime rib in Vegas is a must for me.

The food was great. Loved the prime rib. Vegetables and calamari could have had a bit more flavor but I enjoyed it. I could’ve skipped the wine too; not the best. Price was more than reasonable.

I give this review a 4 star based on a good groupon deal and good service. This was an average cut of prime rib with an excellent sauce on the side. Potato was good. Vegetables eh. Our waiter was attentive but not overly in our face. The groupon deal was 35.00 for two cuts of prime rib and a bottle of wine. The bill would have been 60.98… so basically you pay for the prime rib and get a free bottle of wine. The atmosphere is an older smokey casino. but not so bad that the deal should be passed on. Definitely do the groupon!

They only open Thursday-Sunday 5pm-midnight now. So be aware for that :) But, it’s pretty good restaurant for the group AND food are tasty. I went there after our dance show on Saturday. We were 8 of us, and 2 of us took 2for1 primb rib deal. AMAZING. Everyone could get sip of wine, food are yummy, and price were great. It’s NOT hooters atmosphere related. It’s much upscale! :)

This is an a-ok spot. It’s supposed to be the«fancy», steakhouse-type restaurant at the Hooters casino. Needless to say, it is neither a steakhouse nor fancy. And it’s owned by some coach or football player or something. It’s got a bar area with a circular bar and some high tops and booths. It’s almost an area that is almost always completely empty. The main dining room reminds of a buffet dining room. It’s musty, too bright, crappy tables, icky carpet, no décor, no ambiance, etc. But never fear, it’s not all bad. The kitchen area is enclosed by clear glass so you watch the cooking. And that’s something I always enjoy. The service is a tad hit or miss. Never bad. Just some servers are friendlier and more attentive than others. The drink list is meh. And the wines by the glass are way overpriced. But here’s where it gets way way way good. Those coupons in the weeklies. BOGO prime rib is an amazing deal not to be missed. $ 17.99 for TWO plates of prime rib with sides. That is freakin’ awesome. Who doesn’t love prime rib? And it’s pretty difficult to screw it up. It’s a good size serving and includes veggies and a baked potato, mashed potatoes, or fries. The veggies could use some seasoning or something. The mashed potatoes are totally plain.(Hint: Get the baked potato.) But the prime rib is fantastic. Even their horseradish sauce is good. Don’t have a coupon for BOGO prime rib? They also offer a special where you can get two prime rib dinners, a bottle of wine, and one dessert to share for $ 39.99. This is also a good deal.(Hint: If you’ve got a nice server, they’ll let you combine the BOGO coupon with this deal.) Sure, the wine is a cheapie one, but it’s still a bottle of wine with dinner. And the desserts aren’t bad. You get to choose from key lime pie, cheesecake, etc. We opted for the martini sundae. French vanilla ice cream in a martini glass with chocolate, strawberry, and caramel syrups and cookies. It hit the spot. All in all, this isn’t the place if you’re looking for some fancy, upscale food. But if you are craving some beef and desire a great deal on prime rib, this is the place. As long as they keep doing that coupon, we will keep coming back.

WOW! After reading the reviews on this place, I was kind of scared to go. But my fiancé and I are staying in the Hooters hotel so we figured why not? We got a bottle of Chardonnay, two prime rib dinners and a wonderful strawberry cheesecake dessert for 40 $! The steak was PERFECT! The seasoning on the outside and the amount of fat on the steak was absolutely mouth watering and our server was 100% on top of taking care of us. I would definitely recommend the Mad Onion and the steak dinner! At 10.99 $, you can’t beat it!

The food was good! I had the prime rib special with mash potatoes and pretty legit! The mash potatoes were made from real potatoes and not some box! Only 4 stars bc the waiter was not too attentive I wanted water for the longest time! Overall good good and okay service but we did get seated right away! On the plus side there’s also TVs to watch the games! Place looked cleaned and it was an enjoyable meal

Holllllly shit. I don’t know where to begin. I am so shocked at the quality of the food here that I feel as if I’m going to be sick just writing about it. I’m an individual that has an extremely high tolerance for imperfections in the food industry, especially considering that I worked for a well-respected restaurant for 9 years. However, the lack of care in the preparation of my food tonight at this restaurant has compelled me to write about it for my fellow Unilocalers to save them the heartache AND potential stomachache… To begin, I was extremely excited to eat here since it’s called the Mad Onion — and if there’s one thing I love it’s onions. Well, we received a voucher for a free prime rib dinner by signing up for the rewards program, so we decided to use it since we had already spent a good chunk of money in fine dining earlier in the day and the previous day as well. Of course, I wasn’t expecting a Michelin star meal, but from a restaurant at a hotel in Vegas(however second-rate it may be) should still prepare quality food for its customers. And, yes, I realize that it was a free meal, but considering that this meal normally goes for $ 11 on their menu, I think an honest review is still warranted. I’m not sure if this is their regular quality or if the server told the kitchen that our meal was free, but what came out could be compared only to what comes out of a TV dinner. The steak looked to be about 12 oz, but the only part of it that was edible was roughly half of that — meaning 6 oz of unrendered fat. The«baked» potato was cooked 80% through, meaning that the last couple bites were raw potato, not a pleasant texture or taste in my opinion. Lastly, the vegetable side was a pile of corn that tasted as if it came straight out of the can as was merely heated up and tossed on the plate. I LOVE corn, but this was a marginal attempt at a food item that is truly impossible to screw up when it comes to cooking it. It seemed to be drenched in oil, which made it very difficult to eat. Granted, as I mentioned before, this meal was free so I shouldn’t be one to complain, but considering that it is a menu item that they charge an average price for, I would be verrrrry weary of ordering anything else off of their menu. Just spend the extra menu and go to a real restaurant because this was just not very appetizing, and as I said, this is coming from a person who is very generous when it comes to reviewing restaurants. Cheers!

I hit up the Mad Onion on the tip that there was $ 10.99 Prime Rib dinner. The short of it was that the food was good(not great), and the service was good. There’s really not a whole lot to complain about. At the $ 10.99 price level, you are certainly getting value. Disclaimer: I don’t really know quality of prime ribs dinner. All I can say was the prime rib dinner was pretty good. The portion size wasn’t super large, but it was good size. I think it is a reasonable sized portion for someone who has an average appetite. I was able to finish the prime rib, the baked potato side, and most of the veggies. I don’t like carrots or green beans so I usually don’t eat those. I would give Mad Onion 4 stars. The food was okay/good, but I didn’t feel like it was amazing. The service is kind of standard. The waiters were receptive, but I didn’t feel like they were amazing or anything. I try to keep my expectations REASONABLE when rating the Mad Onion. All and all a good experience. I left full and in good spirits. More importantly, my wallet wasn’t hurting. Solid four star experience given the circumstances(price, location, food).

As a Vegas local now I enjoy coming here for one reason and one reason only… The prime rib. The perks of living in Vegas is getting quality dining experience for cheap price. You cannot beat a prime rib dinner for only $ 9.99 luckily the most recent time we went, the prime rib was not over cooked and wasn’t too salty at all. It was just right, flavorful and tender. We also like to enjoy their French onion soup… All the times we have gone. The soup has not disappointed. Service isn’t the best, and can tend to be rude depending on the server… But that probably coz I always come to eat there right before closing. When the hotel used to be San Remo the prime rib special was always only a late night special so eating it early is not norm for me when I think Vegas. But I will always be back for the awesome prime rib special

We saw the advert while sightseeing after our first day at NAB Show for $ 9.99 prime rib dinner. We decided to take a ‘gamble’ afterward and trek it to a rather bland non-descript restaurant inside the Hooters hotel. We were greeted by the wonderfully friendly and nice Natasha. It was her that helped make the evening go very smoothly and memorable. We decided for the $ 49.99 combo of 2 prime ribs special with a selected bottle of wine. Natasha mentioned it after hearing us having some indecision whether to get wine by the bottle. The meat was delivered just as expected, me rare, her well done. The baked potato was not one of those warmed up shriveling kind. It was served very warm and still freshly baked. The portions were sane with the sauce and other fixings accompanying it. The restaurant décor isn’t what you’d expect from a On-The-Strip hotel. It’s rather boring and dated. It didn’t matter as the night wore on, because it’s the company, the food, and the friendly Natasha.
