Came in with nothing in particular in mind, right away the owner? greeted us and asked if we were looking for anything in particular the first thing that came to mind he immediatley told us where to find it and the differances between pricing with 2 different copies. He explained the some records may be priced higher if a collectors poster was included. The place was small but was very well organized and easy to find artists/​genres. We found a couple of good finds and ended up spending less than $ 30 for 2 records. I budgeted myself to spend no more then $ 25 on one record so I think I found some pretty good finds. There were a few other records I wanted but didn’t want to go over my budget of spending $ 25 for 1 album. For the variety he carried it was not bad at all and owner was very friendly knowledgeable of what he had and exactly where he had it. Another very cool thing about this shop are the vintage record carriers he had (not sure if they were for sale or display) and all the Beatles items he had at the front register (which is always a cool thing to see). His inventory seemed to be in good condition and the records were clearly labeled and individually stored in plastic sleeves. Will be back to add to the collection!

Cool place. Found me a 45 of Howlin Wolf’s «300 Pounds of Joy» here. What more needs to be said?

Great spot! While my friend spent 8+ hours playing daytime poker on a Sunday, I braved the heat to hit some record stores. I never got further than my first spot, Moondog.
Great selection — tons of hard to find LPs. WELL organized — I was not in the mood for serious digging — they make it very easy to find what you are looking for. Well stocked in all genres — impressive punk, metal, jazz, and rock selections. I will visit again when in town!

Mom & Pop record store, a nice small store that never fails to excite me when I browse the shelves, Moon Dog has very good selections at a slightly higher but reasonable price, The store has a good rare wall of records that is enough to satisfy my cravings.
Clint the owner makes sure he labels the record for you to check the condition, helpful and I consider knowledgable and honest, he once said to me «you need to step out of the store now or you will spend all your money, of course I know he did not mean it, :) Check the store out a favorite in Vegas.

Awesome spot to find that obscure or extremely rare vinyl that you probably didn’t think existed in real life. The only sad part is that the merchandise is priced at the same high standard. Regardless, if you are looking for that «must have» find, you will find it here in at least VG to VG+ condition. The owner is also a very nice guy that is reasonably willing to negotiate prices.

Favorite record shop in Vegas! Friendly owner and a well curated selection. Vinyl is almost all older material which is great. Organized by genre which makes hunting easier.

Recent visit to Las Vegas led me to Unilocal to find this little gem. Reviews were great so I thought I’d give it a try.
Located near UNLV, this little shop has everything a vinyl collector is looking for. Rare & hard to find discs, autographed covers, all very well organized and inside of plastic sleeves.
The owner knows his stuff. Its a bit overpriced but I prefer to pay a bit more to be able to find a well organized store that offer this much.
I will be back here next time I visit Vegas

I have not been to a record shop like this in Vegas. If you are looking for rare stuff this is the spot to go and the selection is just getting better.

Hey Clint. If you can’t accept constructive criticism regarding your prices, especially when it is the truth, maybe you are in the wrong business. You say that you offer «fair market value prices»? Again, laughable! Remember, you are on Unilocal to be reviewed; not the other way around. Don’t Email again. And stop being a baby.

Place sits below street level in a mall, but has a sign on the side of the building making it easy to track down as you head down the street.
Inside is a medium size, well organized collection from an aficionado who takes pride in his merchandize, both personally, and on the price tags. This is not a a place for someone getting started and looking for bargain bins, but more for the discerning collector who knows rare pieces when he/​she sees them and is willing to part with some coin. I have to reiterate that the store owner was very helpful and personable, yet stayed out of the way while I spent over an hour going through everything.
There are some bins on the floor, but it seems that half of it is in the same league as the stuff up top (an interesting change from the norm), which is almost all protected in outer sleeves.
I honestly think you are best served having been a number of places beforehand so you know what you are willing to pay for things and what they go for elsewhere; this kind of place is otherwise dangerous and one can get emotionally involved without delay. I have the fortunate advantage of having shopped a couple dozen stores in the southwest, building as I travel. I also feel if I wanted something hard to find, he would be the best to call hands down.
Finds included a copy of The Wall (stickered at 25 for my copy which was in good condition), three Journey Albums (from $ 7 – 10, which is steep but I haven’t seen these titles anywhere else), Aerosmith Rocks ($ 8?), and Aerosmith Classics Live II ($ 10). I wound up leaving with 15 +/​-​records for $ 140 out the door after some haggling. There were huge collections of Bob Dylan, Rush, AC/​DC, and all the staples, but some of the prices for used copies routinely were $ 40 and up. Sticking to your guns and going through the whole store will reward you with some pieces you won’t find elsewhere (The Doors 13, for example, something I’ve only seen on the 7″ Reel my dad got who knows where and when, and this store had two copies).
Bonus point for playing ELO on vinyl over the sound system while I was there. Sounded good.

I hit this shop up when it first opened it’s doors in 2013 while spending some time in Las Vegas for 3 months. I tried to make it a point to visit each week and when I did Clint always tried to work with me on the pricing. I would always buy a lot of vinyl at one time so it was worthwhile for him and when it didn’t work I completely understood.
Basically this is the type of shop I like. the ones with great selections and great prices and the ability to negotiate when purchasing a lot at one time.

Good place, big selection of non-​pop music. All over the eras, styles and formats.

Overpriced and many condition issues.
This is a small store. Selection isn’t bad but many records I looked at were damaged. One was water damaged and the mold was evident all over the sleeves. This was a run of the mill album found at record shows for a few dollars. Not hard to find. It should be in the garbage not marked at $ 10.
I found a few things I was interested in but condition made it a no go. Scratches and marks. Everything was prices way above market. I will be for Mint condition but nothing I looked at was over VG. A few titles I didn’t bother taking a closer look because the price was 40% over the absolute top anyway.
Cant blame a guy for wanting to make a buck but you kave to know actual market and condition is everything. You want to sell for top Ebay price then sell on Ebay and pay the associated costs/​risks. But do not put VG albums out at over NM prices and then thumb a nose when I don’t buy.
Vegas is a slow town for record stores. At least the stuff here was organized. Unfortunately the conditions are no better than the dump that is ZIA. Might as well take your chances there for 25%.

Killer selection of hard rock and metal vinyl. Definitely more than any other shop in the Las Vegas area.
The only downside is the pricing. I thought prices in the Bay Area (California) were a little high. This place tried charging double for the same OG Metallica — Kill Em’ All pressing I could get back home.
Although pricing may be on the high side, it’s the best place around here! I’ll be coming back.

The place itself is in kind of an underground shopping center in a way. Pretty cool spot that makes you feel like you’re not really in a shop in Vegas. It’s not an emporium by any means, but it’s big enough that it carries a decent to great selection for pretty much most genres.
The clerk/​owner was very helpful and friendly, something that’s not always common in record shops (especially ones in Vegas, from my experience). The spot is also very organized overall.
Ended up walking away with a German pressing of La Dusseldorf’s self titled LP in VG condition for $ 27 with my 10% off Unilocal check-​in coupon. My only complaint about the place is their pricing vs. condition of records. Nothing was overpriced tremendously, but some stuff was definitely overpriced for the condition that it was in. Although this isn’t a huge complaint, though, as this is a common for a lot of record shops I’ve been to.
In conclusion, best shop I’ve been to in Vegas so far! I’ll definitely be back.

I love this place! It’s across from Unlv, so if I need to kill some time, I just pop over here. I almost always walk out with something too. The dude who owns this place is super cool, and has a pretty decent collection of underground metal and punk vinyl, as well as cassettes. I’ve even found some Black Twilight Circle bands too, and thats the underground of the underground, haha. He also has some guitars, amps, shirts, and every now and then zines, buttons, and stickers, but those don’t come in as often. I was lucky to find a Rocky Horror zine for like $ 7. All in all, its a pretty cool place.

I am in Vegas on business and decided to hit a couple of the shops in town. Took a cab to Moondog and was very happy with the selection. They have a few rare gems mixed in with everything at very affordable prices. I walked away with an original press of «Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death» by Dead Kennedys for $ 25.00 and an out of print New Found Glory 7″ for $ 9.00.
These two records would have cost me $ 200 at Wax Trax in Vegas. Visit Moondog Records first, Zia Records second, and avoid Wax Trax unless you have three to four hours to kill.

Then go here, great selection and the owner should be the poster child for hospitality.

Moondog is a perfect compliment to the other Las Vegas record stores — some are all about new, trendy stuff, others are full of great $ 2-​$ 10 used stuff — this one is about different stuff that you can’t seem to find at any of the other shops. If you’re into jam bands, punk or metal, go here first.
The owner is knowledgable and friendly to everyone. His prices are fair, but worth an extra couple bucks because you’d otherwise have to pay shipping to get your grubby hands on the stuff he’s got.
