Nathan Burton Comedy Magic

This was my first magic show, and I had much anticipation, and even more expectations due to the good reviews. However, I think this show is a bit amateur with its mildly funny jokes with minimal wow level magic. Seeing some of the props sticking out which inadvertently revealed the trick was a bummer. The acts need to be more polished in order to hide the trick properly.
As an adult, I expected more than textbook tricks. But for the price I paid (USD$ 16), it wasn’t too bad.
I do highly recommend the show however for young families and would’ve thoroughly enjoyed the jokes and tricks if I was a child who probably won’t pay so much attention to the flaws of the acts.

Super good show. Great family event. We really like magic and this guy does it all. Affordable and you see a lot of magic and get a lot of laughs. Well worth going and we will definitely be back to see him again.

Nathan has what can be described as a very good low budget magic act. He does a lot of the same illusions David Copperfield does but with less showmanship. The results are the same as you wonder how it’s done. Nathan has an afternoon show that is budget friendly and entertaining. He is personable onstage and has two very good looking assistants. His opening act was a comedian (Name forgotten) who took four audience members onstage and had those still in the audience laughing hysterically. Good show all around.

Fun show. High paced with a lot going on. Pretty helpers. All the family had fun. He came down afterword and took pictures signing autographs and was really nice the kids. Glad we seen him perform.

My 7 year old boy love his show and kept on asking how he did the magic! We had a great time and I believed it was totally worth it! Not a huge production but I will say it is family oriented and great for kids!

I think the rating here will depend on how much you paid for the show. We got a groupon deal for $ 10 a ticket and it was totally worth it! The theater is pretty small so even if you sit all the way in the back you will see everything just fine. We sat middle section towards the left corner of the theater and had no complaints. I took my 6 year old son and he loved it! He kept asking «How do they do that» and honestly I kept asking the same thing! Needles to say, I was very impressed with some of the illusions. Also, I can see how some people think that some of the acts were a little cheesy and a bit childish and some of them were, however, we all thoroughly enjoyed all of the cool illusions, tricks, dancing and some funny jokes. I also found it pretty cool that Nathan includes his family, like his mom, wife and baby son.
Although the opening act with the masks was pretty comical, I wasn’t a big fan of it. I think they could add something different, something that doesn’t drag out for too long.
FYI’s: 1) Prior to entering the theater they take a picture of you, so make sure to try and look good even if you don’t plan to buy it because they will show it on a big screens for every to see. 2) The show girls dance and wear some pretty risqué/​provocative outfits along with some «adult» moves (in case you are taking young kids). 3) The theater gets pretty chilly so if you easily get cold, make sure to take a light sweater at least.

The best prices are on TravelZoo. If it’s not showing, try Livingsocial/​Groupon. These sites also usually have promotions going on. I believe we paid $ 10 per ticket, suh-​weeet. We weren’t seated too far at all and the stage was completely visible, the show was awesome and he had a great act. If you need an affordable family friendly show, come save money and purchase a ticket to see Nathan Burton.

What are amazing show for all ages. It’s really one of the best how many magic shows around. I’ve been to a lot of shows in Vegas by kisses. Want the best expression if you have someone that has a language barrier because it’s a lot of physical interaction and then I just amazing

He moves between tricks pretty quickly so there r a lot of illuuuuusions!
Show is very affordable and opening act with the masks is very funny (although i refused to be volunteered).
a few down notes:
1. the kid volunteer was in a mind reading skit. the magical effect of mind-​reading on a six yr old is null-​and-​void. he should have been in a plate spinning or disappearing trick or at the least a rabbit out of a hat trick. not surprisingly the kid looked bored and uninterested.
2. one trick, the close up magic trick, took place in the back of the room forcing 90% of the theater to watch it on a tv screen. magic on a tv screen doesnt interest anyone.
3. the straight jacket escape looked pretty pointless. he just wiggles out of it likes its a tight sweater. whats the gag?
Definitly some of the best «people disappearing» magic i“ve seen.
And Nathan seems to really enjoy performing.

Really enjoyed Nathan Burton. Our family was visiting from out of town and with some online discount codes, we were able to get 8 tickets for less than $ 100. Super high energy, well produced, not cheesey and the perfect length for an afternoon show (75 minutes). Highly recommended for locals and tourists alike!!!

Obviously, Vegas is well-​known for it’s wonderful shows of all varieties. So, as I already had tickets to see a Cirque De Soleil show later that night… I wanted to find a relatively inexpensive show to see during the day time. In comes the Nathan Burton Show at Planet Hollywood. It was $ 25 for two tickets and it began about 3 and last a bit over an hour.
I did not come in with the highest expectations and basically served its purpose. Burton had two or three acts before he hit the stage and I enjoyed the opening acts more than the main attraction, but still it was fun.
I think this show is more geared toward family entertainment with kids as opposed to adults because a lot of the humor is juvenile and cheesy. However, Nathan seemed personable and liked he wanted everyone to have fun and be totally into the show which I appreciated.
It was a bit chilly in the theatre so you may want to wear pants instead of shorts inside. Even though it’s like 100+ back on the strip once you exit the show.

I bought a Groupon deal for $ 10 per ticket. I wouldn’t want to pay any more than that for this show. It’s okay, yes kinda campy, and he pitches his DVDs somewhat strongly during the show.
I felt like his acting was a little awkward at times. Usually magicians are quite charming but I just felt uncomfortable at times. Also there were a lot of box tricks. He probably could mix up the routine a bit.
The showgirls were basically wearing nothing during the show (showing a lot of leg). Surprisingly risqué given the family feel of the show?
The guest magician was the one with the magic birds. I thought that was really cute, especially since the white bird randomly walks around at times.
Also there were a lot of people that strolled in super late (like 30 minutes) so when they were finding seats they were blocking everyone’s views. It was pretty annoying and the ushers should do a better job of escorting people during a lull or not letting them in after a certain time.

I got to see Nathan perform in Vegas and he was awesome. His show includes his beautiful show girls (one of which is his wife). Both my girlfriend and I loved the show, as we were there for her birthday! I would recommend both Nathan Burton and Armando Vera (preshow) to anyone, both kids and adults. Nathan even brought his mom and son to today’s show, was really nice to see he and his fellow performers are family oriented. Great show guys, thank you!

This was my first time watching a magic show live and it was entertaining. The jokes were a little corny but I didn’t mind it. The actual tricks were awesome, kudos to Nathan. There was also a bird trainer that opened the show and also made an appearance half way through the show. There was also a guy that did card tricks that was pretty good.
I just thought it was a little egotistical to show footage of yourself on tv shows to prove some kind of validation. I’m not sure how much the tickets are full priced but a friend of mine found tickets to this show on groupon for $ 10. And the seats are little small so if your a big guy like me, be prepared to be uncomfortable for 75 minutes haha. I would recommend this show to friends and family.

Holy smokes! How does he do that? We were front row and totally amazed. He is funny and great for the family. My 5 year old loved it.

I remember Nathan Burton from America’s Got Talent and was very excited to come see his show while we were in town. We opted to get assigned seats which for me included the close up magic pre-​show but thats usually extra $ 10 too and totally worth it. I was blown away by how fast the illusions and the «magic» happens I still am amazed how they do it. I’d give anything to learn some of the secrets to the magic they do it is just mind blowing what they can do right in front of your eyes! This show is worth every penny and its family friendly and since its in the afternoon it keeps your evening free and you can come beat the heat of the day for an hour (or two if you do the pre-​show) The Saxe Theater is located in the Miracle Mile to the right of Planet Hollywood. If you are in town come and see the show you will not be disappointed. If you see the show you get 50% of another show in the other theater next door. HINT: if you don’t like stairs or have knee issues etc. ask for the elevator cause its a few flight of stairs up to the theater but only if you have assigned seats cause general admission is first come first served and all the good seats will be gone by the time you wait for the elevator. Which brings me to HINT#2 just pay the extra get the assigned seats and upgrade and see the closeup magic show its pretty good!

I bought a VIP package to see Nathan Burton which included Armando Vera show.
I took off a star because some of his illusions was in the ultimate V-​variety show, which I saw last year, I didn’t know I was going be watching the same thing again. The opening to his show also included the same opening act when they choose 4 guys to go on stage. It was actually really funny to watch and my mom was laughing hysterically but c ‘mon I wanted to see something i havent seen before (at a different show). Well I’m glad I did not paid more than $ 25.
I like that this is a family — run business. I really support that and the mom Nancy knew my first name when I went to go pick up my tickets at will call. I was a little surprised but she said that’s because she saw my name kept appearing on her list since I’ve purchased the ticket early. I was little shocked since I’ve never met the woman before but she was very nice and directed us where to go. I say this show is good for kids. There are 2 showgirls Nathan Burton uses in the show but nothing too explicit. He looks for a kid and tries interact with the audience. Overall, his illusions & making people disappear is fun to watch.
This theater is not really big. Don’t get pressured into buying VIP tickets at regular price. General admission seating will allow you to see the show just fine.

Each trip we do one expensive show and one cheap show. This was our cheap show ($ 7.50 with Groupon). I think you can get them for free or $ 5 or $ 10 through deals if you stay/​gamble at Planet Hollywood. At that kind of price you go in with pretty low expectations. I think the reason you can get these type of shows so cheap is it’s a way to attract people to come in and then hope they stick around and shop/​eat/​gamble nearby.
Warm up show was moderately entertaining and funny and surprisingly lengthy which means the actual magic show was probably less than an hour of the 1 hour 15 minute total time.
Comparing this show to the Mac King shows I’d say I’d give the edge to Nathan because the theater is a bit nicer, and the production is a little more glitzy. The two Showgirls were easy on the eyes too. As other reviewers have mentioned though, the majority of illusions are some variation of the climb inside and the person disappears or appears. He did mind reading and some other stuff. There wasn’t a whole lot of comedy, at least not the bust your gut laughing kind.
Like Mac King, I didn’t really like the plugging of DVDs, photos, etc and at one point the show was a bit patronizing/​cheezy but only briefly. Probably the thing I disliked the most is they force everyone to exit out the back of the theater so you have to walk by where they sell the photos and DVDs which makes getting out of the place kind of a pain. At least the price of the photos were less than other attractions charge though and if you want you can get things signed by Nathan. But I think they should give people the option of also exiting through the front.
I’d say this show is worth $ 25 at most, so if you can get tix for that price or less you should be satisfied. $ 25 is pushing it though.

Umm. Ok. Not sure what to think of this show. I wasn’t crazy about it. There were basically 2 different tricks… mind reading and disappearing ladies. Nothing really wowed me. During the close up magic, I had no idea what to look for, lol.
I got my tix for $ 8 off Living Social. Glad that’s all I paid. We got in line about 30 min. early and got decent GA seats.
I would recommend this show if you have an hour to kill and you can get discount seats. Don’t pay full price by any means.

Got some comped tickets for a 4 pm show on a sunday so I took my kids.
It is located at the Saxe Theatre as part of the Miracle Mile Shops inside Planet Hollywood Hotel/​Casino. Since we had general admission tickets, we were seated towards the back in the nosebleed section. Even though were kind of far away from the stage, we still could see enough to witness a show going on.
This would be my second time watching Nathan Burton. The first time was when he was at the Flamingo some years back. As usual, he has an opening act start the show for him. Last time it was Jeff Civillico. This time it was the guy from America’s Got Talent with the trained birds. Sorry I don’t remember his name. He did a solid job as the intro to the show.
As Nathan Burton makes his way out to the stage, it is nonstop magic tricks mainly him or his assistants disappearing and reappearing through out the show. It did get kind of repetitious with the disappearing acts. Each time he used different props but the end result was always the same.
In the end, he saves his best and biggest magic trick of all. I like this show because it is geared more towards kids in general. For the parents it is still entertaining to see Nathan do what he does best.
