It’s day 3 of EDC. I feel defeated. The only thing that I want is something warm and comforting and lo and behold, I stumble across this Unilocal listing. A beacon of light in my post-EDC haze. The reviews all warn a 2−3hour wait, but boyfriend and I were optimistic(how?). It’s not going to happen to us, we’re going to get there and we’re going to EAT. So we pumped ourselves up to put on actual clothes and trekked our way off the strip and back into the 1980’s. The Palace Station is definitely not the place to be seen, but it houses this magnificent gem. You find it by looking for the massive line of hungry, salivating people. When all of the seats are taken, it really does take the predicted two hours before you’ll get served, so prepare to wait. We did. But it was OH. SO. WORTH. IT. Get the pan roast. This was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. If you’re here with a friend, don’t even think about trying anything else. Just get two orders of pan roast. You’ll end up fighting over it. And definitely get one to go too so you can take it home and eat it when you’re hung over. Imagine the creamiest tomato soup with all of your favorite seafood served over rice and that’s what the pan roast is. The ultimate comfort food, upgraded. My mouth is watering. And if you’re reading this as you’re waiting in line… DON’T GIVEUP, YOUARESOCLOSE! And if you are my friend or even an acquaintance who has my phone number, please get me an order of pan roast and I will venmo you when you get back to the ‘dale.

This place is totally worth the wait! But if you’re not into waiting, come in the morning from 7 – 10AM. The wait is pretty darn short. It is really fun watching the chef do his thing with the kettle pots. It is strictly 21+(it’s literally a bar) so don’t even think about bringing your kids or younger siblings here. Oysters are super fresh and delicious. The chef shucks them right in front of you. Pan roast is AMAZING. I’ve had the combo and palace pan roast. I prefer the palace pan roast because you get both seafood and chicken/sausage! I always say that I will share one because it is a huge serving, but end up being a fatty and ordering one for myself, which then turns into awesome leftovers. If you’re thinking of coming here for the first time, it’s definitely worth trying!

The gumbo and pan roast here are seriously good. If you’re wondering what pan roast is, it’s like a creamy tomato stew filled with seafood. Not what comes to mind when I say pan roast, huh? And everyone knows what gumbo is, a thick stew filled with spices and okra and sausage and seafood(not creamy and tomatoey at all). I loved the gumbo. We got the combo seafood and there was crab pieces floating around, shrimp, sausage and lobster. Sooo savory and delicious over rice. If you prefer sweeter and creamier flavors, the pan roast is for you. Like a delicious seafood tomato soup. I still liked it but it was a bit too sweet for me to have an entire bowl of. Also served with a bowl of rice. The seafood was cooked perfectly(lobster was so tender!) and the portions are hugeee, which is good because they were like $ 22 each. 3 of us shared the gumbo and pan roast and we couldn’t even finish. Definitely want to come back again.

Finally got to try this place the last time I was in Vegas! Yay! So we got up to Vegas at 8am on New Years Eve(12÷31÷15) and decided to go eat at Oyster Bar first… Guess what? NOWAIT at 8AM!!! Hahahaha!!! If you don’t wanna wait go early in the morning 7, 8, 9 am! Lol :) We decided to share a Palace Pan Roast(shrimp, crab, chicken, and sausage) $ 23.99… but there was a $ 5 charge for sharing a plate. You get 2 small bowl of rice for a shared plate. Honestly sharing it was perfectly fine. Their poritions are huge and their pan roast is very heavy so sharing is probably a good idea. We got the spicy level at 6(up to 10) and it wasn’t spicy enough for me… I would have preferred it to be more like an 8. The pan roast was good, I can see why people rave about it so much and I would be back! I loved it but I cant give it more than 4 stars because of the price. So sharing a Palace Pan Roast was $ 29 plus a glass of beer plus tax and tip = over $ 50 for one meal and we shared a dish… That’s expensive for what it is… The service was good! We chatted up with the chef who showed us the difference in tools to open up clams and oysters… and the waitress helped us out with finding the closest grocery store. Everyone was really nice! It was a pleasant meal at 8am! And I am sure I will be back! Definitely check it out if you haven’t done so yet!

This place really is as amazing as everyone says, but the wait is also real. We arrived right after our flight around 4am and still had about a 60 min wait. As many others said, there are few seats at the bar, so if you have a big party, expect a longer wait. Luckily, there were only two of us, so we were able to squeeze in between parties. We also went during a time where it was a happy hour, which included cheaper wines, beer, and raw oysters! We ordered a dozen raw oysters, which were delicious and fresh. We ordered the bouillabaisse and the pan roast, and the bouillabaisse was amazingggggg. Contrary to what others say, I thought the pan roast(by far the most popular dish ordered) was just okay to me. But it’s probably because I really enjoyed the fresh seafood and lighter flavors of the bouillabaisse(although by lighter, there was still a lot of butter put into the soup). I thought the service was really good, and the chef is amazing. With so few seats all around the bar, you got to watch him make your food, so it was a fun experience!

Hard to say much that hasn’t already been said about this place. As a native Floridian I’m very picky about seafood and wondered if they were a little overrated. Not to worry, their combination(shrimp, crab, and lobster) pan roast was one of the best seafood meals I’ve ever had. They use a cream/tomato base with some cooking wine and a spice level you pick from 1 – 10. I went 5 and it had a little kick without overpowering the flavor. The serving is massive and comes with some rice, it’s pretty rich and two could easily share a bowl. The gumbo is just as excellent too if you’d rather try that. The meals are about $ 20 – 25 each and worth every cent. I came around 11:30 pm on a Wednesday night and somehow only waited about 25 minutes for a seat. When you wait here you actually stand in line, no putting your name on a list. You could always bring a beach chair maybe if the wait is for hours? The service is really friendly and they cook everything right in front of you so you can watch for the 30 minutes or so it takes them to cook your meal. This place is about a $ 20 cab ride from the strip is totally worth checking out.

Be patient! You must wait and wait and… wait. Fortunately, we were in line at 1107 and got seated 40 minutes later. Not bad right? Yes, no chairs. Stand in line and this is a test. Visit here was unplanned and that’s the best thing. Where to eat after an extensive gym work out was such a hard decision until I suggested this popular place. Über ride wins! It is located inside the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. Literally, this spot is a BAR that can only hold 16 people. We ordered COMBOPANROAST(a must here!) a platter of RAWOYSTERSANDCLAMSWITHADDEDSHRIMPCOCKTAIL. We watched our food being prepared and cooked. The chef and the boss were personable. We paired it all with glasses of white wine. If I ever visit Las Vegas again, I will definitely go back and get the same PANROAST over and over again!

Oh man you have got to try this place out. When we found this on Unilocal we were wondering why it had such high ratings. From the photos it looks like it’s just a small bar next to slot machines – it looked ghetto. And when we got there, it was true, the place Really IS next to slot machines on the main floor of a casino. But it’s also true that the food here is worth 5-stars The price is actually pretty high – almost all items are $ 20+ and up, so be aware. The quality of the food is well worth it though – extreme comfort food, perfect for after long nights of gambling or other crazy shit you did in Vegas. Word of caution – the spiciness rating here is insane. You choose spiciness from 1 – 10, and being a guy that eats spicy stuff everywhere I choose 7. Man was it hot. I think my max for this place is at most a 5. Basically, whatever you think your spicy rating is, just minus 2 or more from it. The seafood stew quality was amazing, with HUGE chunks of lobster, fish, clams etc Everything tasted fresh, with seawater freshness inside the flesh even though it’s covered in broth. After I ate this meal I was full for the entire 8 hour drive back home. Definitely a bit meal with large portions. Definitely a place to come back to again and again and again.

I had to go back again after I tried a SoCal knock-off(if you will), and I did it at a far saner hour of the day. Here is the review that I really wanted to write the first time around, including photos. Oyster Bar: the myth; the legend; the lines. Well, the legend anyway. It’s real, and somehow I only had to wait 10 minutes at around 1 pm today because I’d miraculously found a slow time of day. I had had a good feeling going into Palace Station, and when the server/host(awesomely named Christopher) offered me a choice of two seats, I took the one in the middle of the seating arc so that I could be close as possible to the action. My order again wasn’t taken immediately, but I think that’s just part of the choreography of this place. It takes time to prepare the food, and most people know that there is a wait to be expected usually. And then there was a literal dance as Christopher and chef Ricardo tried to get around each other when the former was ready to take my order and the latter was moving around the kitchen. I commented wryly that they should keep going, and a good chuckle was had by all. I asked for the ubiquitous combo pan roast($ 23.99) again, but at a spicy level of 4 out of 10 this time. I also closely watched in anticipation of seeing my pan roast actually cooked. It was not a super busy day, so Ricardo at most had to take care of 4 or 5 of the six steam kettles simultaneously. I could have gotten lost in watching him add ingredients step-wise while giving them ample time to cook through, reduce down, etc. were it not for the fairly loud conversations of other customers. Oh, that and the smells. The brandy was noticeably fragrant as he poured it into my pan roast to reduce, and that was followed by a seafood stock(of sorts) ladled directly from the shellfish boiling pot. Several minutes later came the mixture of dry ingredients and proteins, and toward the end were three heaping ladles of tomato cream. Crab meat was added near the end and allowed to simmer for a couple more minutes. Chef Ricardo finally poured the completed stew into a nice bowl and added a large scoop of rice, and some herbs finished it off. I was pretty excited by this point and eagerly dug in as best as I could without burning my mouth. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweetness that I somehow missed the first time here. Fortunately, this was only one flavor in a really rich and delicious nectar of the sea that my fully awake palate was able to enjoy. Worth noting is that the spicy level of 4 was actually not enough to halt me between bites, so it’s not a Thai spicy scale that they’re using by any means. The proteins were all fantastic, save for perhaps one poorly cleaned piece of lobster, but the flavors of the pan roast quickly washed away that disagreeable taste. The crab meat had discernible pieces of pincer meat, and the shrimp was plentiful and properly cooked. I most likely saved leftovers just so that I could enjoy a second round, not so much because I was stuffed. Actually, I could have ordered another dish to go easily, and they were somehow so slow on this particular occasion that they agreed to prepare 3 dishes to-go for a customer when their normal limit is 2 per person. Five stars it is. I’ll probably delve into the other riches of Oyster Bar on my next visit, such as a gumbo or étouffée, but the pan roast is indeed a must-try for locals and visitors alike. Just try to go at odd hours during the daytime or else be prepared to endure a lengthy wait.

Like everybody else says. the food is wonderful. The wait is not so much. They have only bar seating. you need to stand in line(there is no leaving your name and coming back) so you and your companion will take turns getting drinks at the Irish bar across the way and may get very drunk while downing four drinks in the two hours you may stand in line. And if you think that going later will avoid the line. expect at least 1.5 hours unless you go after midnight. Now once you get there. it is truly an experience. I got: The raw oysters. big indeed but they aren’t that briny and so I would say I would skip these. It’s better elsewhere. The Alaskan Chowder. amazing. I would DEFINITELY recommend this. The lobster pan raost. pretty good. I may go with the crab the next time but it was pretty good. It has a good consistency which I would think is better than what I have found at other places. The funniest thing was that they gave us soup take away boxes for our wine because we didn’t finish. HAHAHAHAHA… Love this place and will try to visit again when I come to Vegas.
