I gave this place a second chance and instantly regretted it. Walked in and waited five minutes to be sat at the sushi bar. There were only four other people in the restaurant! I felt rushed the entire time. I got there at 12:45 and didn’t get any sushi until 1:05. Then they told me last call was at 1:30. The sushi chef was really rude. He held up his finger like I was an inconvenience when I asked for extra sauce. The sushi tasted ok but it was room temperature and almost warm. The best part of my meal was the fried stuff because I was able to eat it without feeling like I might get sick. I probably won’t ever go back and the only reason they got two stars was because the servers were friendly and kept checking on me.

Honestly, the other reviewers are right when they say there is a long wait around peak hours such as dinner time, which is expected. All you can eat sushi at good places normally have a wait. The quality of the fish: I’d have to say this place can be a hit or miss. I’ve been here numerous times and I’ve maybe had one or two times where I’ve felt that the quality was a little sub par, but to say that 80% of the time it tastes really fresh is a good sign for an AYCE sushi place. The service: 90% of the time, great service! I usually sit at the bar and the chefs are very attentive and fun! They Get your rolls out at a fast pace and if they have time, they usually converse with their bar guests! TIP: The only thing that may confuse people is that when sitting at the bar, know that all appetizers & desserts or drinks are ordered with the servers and all the rolls, nigiri, and any sushi are ordered through the sushi chef at the bar! :)

this place used to be the bomb, great service great food, and a ridiculously long wait during peak hours. I really liked the waiting system where they text you and let you know how long your wait is and when your table is ready that way you can go hang out at starbucks nextdoor or run some errands. The last time I was there with the husband, there was no more waitlist texting system and we waited 3 hours for a party of 2 when the hostess originally said only 45 minutes and they would call us when our table was ready. Came back after 2 hours as we waited in the car because it was so cold and windy outside and the outdoor heaters were broken or turned off. I thought they had the wrong number to contact me, but nope. I told the hostess that they weren’t on, she just said, «oh, ok.» anyways, after a 2 hr wait in the car in the cold, the hostess told us it would be only another 45 minutes. Waited another hour and finally left and went to Sushi Koma. It has been 3 weeks and I am still waiting for a phone call to tell us our table is ready at Sushi Mon. I had also gone to Goyemon(a sushi mon related joint) about a week ago and they still had the texting waitlist system which worked perfectly. Not sure what is happening at sushi mon on maryland.
