I love spring at Faddegons. I am a perrenial junkie and their selection is top notch. First the store itself is so beautiful to look at and artisticly displayed. Their house plant selection is very good and most look healthy The best place to buy tiny plants for terrariums and dish gardens. I buy my daughter’s cactus here too. Back to the perrenials… excellent selection and many named cultivars you can’t find easily. My only complaint is the price… way too high. Yes I know we are paying for the selection, but the prices limit me to how much I can buy. This year I settled on just looking. Still brought a smile to this perrenial junkie’s face. A must visit for anyone who loves gardening.

The absolute best place to purchase roses in the area. They have the biggest selection and the staff is knowledgeable and patient in the selection process. Randy is always so nice and helpful. I don’t even think he knows my last name, but he recognizes me as a frequent shopper and always comes over to help. Great experience every time!

I was in Latham and stopped by on my way home to see if they had some items I couldn’t find elsewhere: chives and lantana. They had both! And the purchase was effortless. They are very organized — checked out my basket and brought it out front(and to my car) while I paid the bill. I loved my experience at Faddegon’s and am happy to patronize a local family-owned business. I will definitely be back.

[Note Faddegon’s is actually at 1140 Troy Schenectady Rd. — there’s a duplicate entry in Unilocal’s database for some reason. I’m duplicating my review here just in case you’re searching and have found this entry instead of the other one for«Faddegon’s Nursery Inc.”] How is Faddegon’s not reviewed? A mystery since it’s the biggest and obviously the best outdoor/indoor gardening store in the area. Well, here we go. The best plant-stuff store we’ve found in the area: one-stop shopping to satisfy your green thumb jones. Huge stock of indoor and outdoor stuff, including small houseplants, and cut flowers to boot. The stock seems to be rotated quite regularly, and they go to the half-off specials relatively quickly on annuals and older stock. They have quite a bit for more ambitious landscaping projects, and I was particularly happy to see they had a huge variety of hanging flowers. Gardening supplies — containers, stakes, small tools, soil, and so forth — are decent but not quite as plentiful as the big box stores, but on the third hand there are more«nice» options for things like pots and pieces for doing creative building blocks. Prices are decent but not in the deep discount arena. The staff knew their way around the place, but it was a little hard getting attention at first. And they have a crew with carts dedicated to helping you take things to your car. I’m close to giving them a fifth star but will reserve that to see how the plants do and whether our experience is born out by repeat trips, but so far so good — we’re making it our destination for plants.
