Subs are yummy but a bit pricey. They don’t tell you about the app or the rewards program which I figured out on my own

Terrible. I spent 9.81 $ per sub, no chip no drinks. Or as the unfriendly cashier who said“you can get it if you pay for it”. Subs were warm, meat was tastless, roll was soggy, veges were not fresh. Will not be back. Dont waste your time.

Finally got around to getting subs there and they were very good. Hubby had Kings Hawaiian and I had the NY Steamer. I also like the idea of an 8″ sub as well. Will return to try something else.

I really do like these guys. I am impressed also. Overall they are very nice and greet you with a welcome, which is fine, but I’d be just as happy the cashier taking my order was courteous and they are. The subs have a lot more meat than subway or so it seems. When i had a problem with a sub order one time, the manager made it right for me the next time i came in. Very nice! The word when you are servicing customers is this… PAYATTENTION! I have been there more than a few times and while i know that they are busy, but when a customer comes in and says i have an online order, look for that order already completed. When a customer orders turkey bacon ranch, give them a turkey bacon ranch. When ordering in store, a great addition would be to tell the customer thank you, we will call your name when your sub is ready at the pickup location on the end. Then it would be great to have a sign stating this. Other than that, i love the place. This is my favorite place overall. I’ll be back.

Customer service does not exist in the establishment. It took 30 minutes to get my food while the workers were joking around with each other. Show some pride in your work!

Imagine Subway and Quiznos had a kid who joined a local volunteer fire department with his cousin Papa John and you’ll get an idea of what Firehouse subs is all about. They assemble sodium bombs that makes taco bell seem like a low salt health food. The subs are overpriced, undersized, and just not that good. On the spectrum of garbage chain subs shops they would fall on the lower end between Mr. Subb and Subway, with Dibella and Quiznos at the other end. Roma Importing down the road near Raymore & Flanagan’s is a much better location to grab a sandwich. Portions are small and prices high. The one redeeming aspect of the place is that they have a large selection of hot sauces to douse your undersized salt sandwich with. The manager was completely on point and the high school girls working the counter seemed happy to be making minimum wage. The hot sauce bar, manger’s attitude, and total commitment to the firehouse décor convinced me to bump this up to a two star rating. The bottom line: The hot sauce bar is great the food and prices are not.

I’m not a big Sub person. Maybe I have two a year, at most. But I do enjoy a good sandwich, especially a warm or hot sandwich. My wife asked if I knew whether Firehouse Subs had hot subs and I said let’s go find out. From other reviews I’ve read I was ready for the medium size to not be over powering and alerted my wife. It was not busy at about 7 pm on a Monday when we came in. We had plenty of time to look at the wall menu and the pictures and descriptions on top of the counter. No one was yelling out required greetings to us when we arrived, and no one was rushing us to order. My wife decided upon the medium Engineer Sub — smoked turkey breast, melted Swiss, and sautéed mushrooms on shredded lettuce. I had the medium New York Steamer — corned beef brisket, pastrami, melted provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. My first reaction was that my sub must have been missing something because it appeared to have so little meat between the top and bottom sub roll. On the other hand, my wife’s sub appeared to be loaded with stuff. Her comment was that it was the lettuce that made hers so much taller. Once I separated the two halves of my sub I could see more meat in the middle. Looking at the picture of each sub on their web page, hers looked a lot more like their photo than mine did. Bottom line is we both were very pleased with our subs. The sub rolls are nice and fresh and while thick, the bread is a light texture so that you don’t feel like you are filling up on bread instead of the filling, and you can squeeze it thinner. The corned beef brisket and pastrami in my sub was tender, not fatty, and not overly salty. The provolone was more mild than I would have liked and I would have preferred more of the mustard flavor. I think there was a condiment counter near the soda machine where I could have found more mustard. What we didn’t notice until after we sat down was the display of a large selection of hot sauces(maybe 30?) labeled on a scale of 2 to 10 that customers can choose from to increase the«heat» and«flames» in their sub. Service was prompt in making our order and the subs were delivered to our table. We thought the prices were not unreasonable since we each went with the combo that included a bag of chips and a large(32 oz.) soda. Our total after tax was just under $ 19. We’ll be back to try some of the other variations.

If I’m going to disagree with«Consumer Reports» magazine about something, I guess I’d rather it be over a sandwich as opposed to a refrigerator or a car. I learned of Firehouse Subs a few months ago from one of their articles rating fast food chains. Firehouse came in ahead of behemoth Subway, which intrigued me. I thought I would not get a chance to try one until my visit to Kentucky in the summer of 2015(7 months from this review). Then a few weeks ago, while driving along Route 9, I saw this kid standing in 25 degree weather with 20mph winds trying to hold up a flag for Firehouse — I hope they paid him well and gave him a hot meal. I must admit, I really enjoyed the sub. There’s something comfortable about a sub which is «warm all over.» Even Subway, and Quizno’s, with their toasted subs, haven’t gotten it to this level — you’ve still got the refrigerator-cold toppings to go with your warm bread, meat and cheese — anyone yearning for a McDLT yet? So on taste alone, I agree with«Consumer Reports.» Buuuuuuutttt… This was the smallest«medium» sub I have ever eaten, and it costs $ 2.50 more to turn it into a «large.» I need to get their coupons to make the deal better. While I’ve seen it mentioned in a few places, there is very little information about build-your-own subs here. I’m guessing specialty subs are easier for them to build and probably a bit more profitable. If I’m going to eat at a sub place regularly, I want to be able to vary my cheese and type of bread. There’s still a bit of confusion when it comes to subs delivered to your table versus picking up pre-ordered subs. It really feels a lot more industrial and less personal here than other sub places. Finally, while it’s not really a big deal, having everybody behind the counter yell some kind of canned greeting doesn’t really do anything for me(you want more proof? Check out some of my Moe’s reviews). I’m just as content to receive a friendly greeting by the person taking my order and let everyone else continue with their duties. I’ll certainly consider Firehouse when I’m not in the mood for a burger or an Indian buffet lunch. It’s a good add to the local mix.

Really not worth the money. Go across the street and get some real food. The«Meat» on my sandwich was the lowest quality«turkey» and«beef» — really more fillers and gelatine. Not much of that meat. I asked the counterman to hold the cheese, but they put it on anyway. The subs are smaller than you get elsewhere and somewhat expensive. I had a coupon for a free sub, but I doubt I’ll be eating there again.

I’m normally not a fan of franchise sub stores. But I thought I was I the area that day and I would give it a try. I had one of the chicken sandwich combos. Well prepared, nice taste. But bit pricey for what I was. I would place them 1 step above Subway or Mr. Sub. I will say the employees in many of these sandwich franchises can be scary at times. But it looked to me like they had a nice group of well trained young people who were very pleasant and nice to deal with. It really looked to me like they were very customer service oriented.

A fairly gimmicky establishment whose Fireman inspired theme pulls at that heart strings of all who have idolized the hard working men and women who put their life on the line fighting fires everyday. The menu is fairly limited(no Chicken wtf?) and all of the subs are basically made with the same, heavy handed with the cheese and dressing mentality. lacking any real creativity. They do have a unique method of braising all their meat, but as far as I can tell that is the only thing firehouse does special. Also, is it just me? But for a place called firehouse, I would expect to see perhaps some type of spicy chipotle, hot buffalo, sriracha, cajun or southwestern style subs/sandwich but nothing like that exists on the menu. Where’s the fire? When you enter be prepared for the gruff dude behind the counter to shout«Welcome to Firehouse!!» at you in a very abrasive manor. It’s like the guy is welcoming you but at the same time saying«get out!». Very bizarre. In any case, I had a coupon for a free medium Sub, I got the turkey bacon ranch… but there was nothing to write home about here, the bread was decent, the sub I think is slightly bigger than 6 inches… but it was drenched in ranch dressing(so much so it was soggy when I got back to the office) and oh yea, they were very skimpy with the meat. MEH… I’ll stick to boring old Subway.

I got a coupon in the mail for a free medium sub with purchase of a soda and chips so I figured I’d give them a shot. I ordered the Club on a Sub which was turkey, ham, bacon and monterey jack. When it came out I couldn’t believe how small their«medium» was. They make it look like a full sub in all the pictures but its probably about equal to half a sub. It tasted fine but its a ripoff for the amount they would normally charge. They just prove if you want a sub done right you can’t go to a chain. You have to go somewhere local. I will give them credit for at least having a light wheat kaiser roll and under 500 calorie options.

This review is based on two experiences, my sister’s and mine, and were separated by a little more than a month. My sister went when they first opened. She said they were hectic, but she placed her order and specified that all she wanted was turkey and bacon on a sub roll. She ended up getting turkey, bacon, and a ton of ranch dressing. It was horrible because all she could taste was ranch and ended up only eating a few bites. Fast forward to a little over a month later and I decided to try the place, thinking that maybe her visit was just a fluke. I ordered roast beef, lettuce, and mayo on a sub roll. When I got home, surprise surprise it wasn’t what I ordered. Although they had gotten the roast beef part correct, the meat was chipped and a gross grey color(nothing like the nice red slices depicted in the pictures). Then, the only thing on top of the meet was cheese. I was thoroughly disgusted and ended up throwing the sandwich out. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs. Clearly they don’t listen to what their customers actually want and instead choose to give them whatever special is on the board. Also, the prices were horrendous. I know I’m never going back to this place.

Do yourself a favor and try the subs. This place is similar to Quiznos but not. This place beats any sub shop known to man. I’ll say it’s not the fastest so if on a 30 min lunch place the order early.

I was excited to try this place out when it opened. I think I’ve been to one before where I used to live, but it had been a while since I had visited the chain so we decided to give it a try. It was not bad, but didn’t stand out as a place I would go out of my way to go to. The sandwiches are hot, the deli meat is good and slices thin. You can pick from the menu of sandwiches or build your own. I got the turkey cranberry which was decent. We had our sandwich within 5 minutes of ordering. They also have one of those fancy coke product machines which tipped this over from a 2 star place to a 3 star one. So try this place for yourself and see. I prefer Dibella’s because I feel like you get more bang for your buck, but I may stop by from time to time.
