I don’t recommend this establishment. I went in and sat at a partially full bar for 3 minutes and none of the three staff members opted to serve me.

I liked this place in the past but now the staff is disgusting. Tip for management drug test your staff.

Been driving by for a while and have been curious. Turns out it seems more like a watering hole than a place for good food. Stopped by with some relatives for dinner. Nobody greeted us at the door. We found our own table. I had what was listed as «French Dip» on the menu. Turned out to be tough and chewy, thickly cut, and grey like it had been boiled all day. The«au jus» was the right color, but flavorless. French fries tasted like they were fried in old burnt oil. They looked overvooked, and were greasy and tasted just icky. A relative had the BBQ burger and described it as «mealy». They also didn’t like the fries. Iced tea was the right color but practically flavorless. Our waitress was ok I suppose. Just putting in the bare minimum amount of effort to get the job done. The outside of the place apparently hasn’t had any attention in quite some time. Dead leaves blowing all over… dead and dieing plants/flowers haphazardly arranged around. Parking is awful. We had to park over in the Price Chopper(Bistro 32) lot. Don’t waste your time, money, or palate. I sure won’t be going back again. Really… a Big Mac and a Coke meal deal would have been several levels better.

Great food, lousy service. Dinner rush and you’ve got one waitress? Waited an hour for a drink(coke), and another 45 for boxes and our bill. Try hiring some people, it might help of someone was actually here to service customers. Seriously good food though. Really.

Disappointed sums up my experience here. The waitress was attentive. The menu misleading. I ordered the fajita quesadilla which came out more like a fajita thAn a quesadilla when I questioned it. The girl who brought out my food(different than the waitress who took our order) said it was a fajita I would have eaten it because it looked delicious but they took it away and returned with a quesadilla with bacon which is not what I wanted. It was very tasty but if the menu or the girl who brought out the food had been a little clearer I am sure I would have enjoyed my dinner a bit more. I do hope they school their staff a little better on what exactly they are serving because I’m sure anybody who orders it probably makes the same mistake.

Second trip here, food has not improved. We ordered a burger rare, received well done burger. Ordered a tombstone sandwich and was surprised to find an entire dill pickle spear in the center, as opposed to slices pickles that belong on a sandwich… plus service was slow, over an hour for our 2 sandwiches. It’s not that hard, get it together. Only saving grace was the ufo grapefruit shandy. Will not be going back.

Busy, but beer is limited for size and the food is not as good as an average chain. Staff was a bit curt and not concerned about customers. They stood around yapping in plain sight while people had empty glasses.

Great food, decent music, waitress friendly, and right next to my table there was a fun dart machine. The bar gets a little loud at times. PS It was PACKED(on a Friday night). Plus service was a little slow.

Best parts of this place are the outside seating in summer and the quesadillas. They are large and tasty.

I went here on my birthday and received attentive and quick service. Apparently you get a drink and a menu item(up to $ 10 each) for free on your birthday. Well I took full advantage of that and got my drink and food in no time and we were on to the next one.

The food was good! The karaōke was entertaining. The place was freezing, the staff was rude. The place was loud! Not busy, maybe 8 patrons? Probably the Loudest bar I’ve been in with that few of people. The bartender cut some guy off and the rest of the staff cussed out his buddies… Great place for a bar fight!!!

A good place to relax and wat during the summer. They have outdoor seating and outside bar. They seem to have a small stage for local bands, not sure on when the live music plays but I’m guessing it would be on the weekends.

Went on a Monday night, literally my first day in town after moving here. Great service, great bar-style food. Definitely going to have to go there a big game night.

Came here on a Thursday night and it wasn’t too busy. I like that you get to seat yourself so we sat out on the patio. There was a band playing, which I usually hate, but they were quiet and easy to have in the background. The waitress was very attentive and nice. I got the full rack of ribs and they were Fing huge and delish. The onion pedals that come with it are awesome and the cornbread was actually good.(Most places have crap cornbread) All in all it was a very good experience coming here!

Rafferty’s score at being terrible: over 9000 The food is pretty OK but this is eclipsed by the terrible and slow service, which drops JJ Rafferty’s to one star for me. My last visit was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. I went to Rafferty’s on a Saturday afternoon, shortly before 2:00PM. It wasn’t very busy. It took them just shy of an hour to serve my table 10 wings, a sandwich, and an order of fries. The waitress was nearly nonexistent. When we finally managed to get her attention and ask her what the status was on the food, she told us it’d be out in no more than three minutes. Over ten minutes later, the food finally showed up, in what I expect will be our last visit to Rafferty’s.

The porch is nice in the summer… that’s it. This is the kind of place that looks fun when you walk in. The draft beer tastes like old bacteria(I am a stickler about clean taps… go to the heritage in colonie for great tating drafts) the food is OK, the bar tenders are aloof and bored looking. I really hate coming here…

Many years ago Rafferty’s was the Downunder, last low class no class stop on the way home for Lathamites. In my opinion, it still falls within the LCNC classification.

I ate here last Wed. afternoon and my meal was pretty gross. I ordered the turkey sandwich and literally had to wring out the bread because it was so soaked in butter. My diet coke glass was also not fully washed out – as I could taste the residue from a prior patron’s rum and coke. Free alcohol, anyone? On the plus side, the service was friendly/quick.

I came in on a Sunday night after my ride broke down in Latham. The crowd was especially light, so I can’t comment on what«the scene» is like on a typical night. The beers were relatively pricey: $ 4-$ 5 compared to cheaper beers down the street at Mouse Trap. Service was excellent. In fact, most of the entertainment from the evening came from the guy sitting next to us at the bar, who hopelessly hit on the extraordinarily patient bartender all night long. We ordered dinner, too. I forget what my partner ordered, but I got a steak wrap, which was very chewy but was tasty otherwise. I’d go back here again on a regular night if I was in the area again.

We stopped by here the night of my sister in law’s bachelorette party. We got crappy music, overpriced drinks, weird atmosphere. She got a lap dance from a 60 year old man, and a nice parking lot vomit spree… needless to say, this is one classy joint.
