Fellow Unilocalers, please, don’t. Just don’t. I love buffets but there was nothing good here. Gross. Many gross patrons, unclean, just don’t. *** I’m told this has changed hands since I was there and the buffet no longer exists!

I agree with a previous reviewer, Megan, about seafood. No way, no how would I take a chance. I am glad my guys didnt have any problems after eating the seafood but I passed it up. The sushi was ok and a few other items, but I’m sorry to say the quality has gone down hill. The biggest scare was the bathrooms. Both men and women’s were deplorable. They say clean bathroom, clean kitchen. Never going back. From now on we are going to check the bathrooms before eating in any of these places.

I was pretty disappointed with this place. Most of the items were sea food where I’m skeptical at best of sea food in a place that isn’t remotely near the sea… and this is a buffet… oh hell no I’m not even going near the sea food at a buffet. ever. So That limited me to like six different types of chicken, terrible looking lettuces and fruits. Great. The sweet and sour chicken was probably my favorite part, the spring rolls were okay, and the chicken and vegetables weren’t bad either. The miso soup tasted like mint tea. Maybe I’m wrong… but I was pretty sure it was not suppose to taste like mint tea. It never has when I’ve ever ordered it before. The egg roll was over cooked and very dry which was tragic because I love me some egg rolls. The spring roll was much better so I guess thats a save. The staff was friendly, quick, but not worth returning.

I’m gonna go off the lemming cliff on this one. The most memorable item for me was the mushrooms. All else is pretty standard and not outstanding. The dumplings at the sister restaurant, Lee Lin, look like they’re on steroids compared to here. they tasted good, but luke warm, so were other items. I’m not thrilled that a drink wasn’t included, either, as are many buffets. These places are more for the glutton crowd, rather than grazers like me. I never really get my money’s worth.

Umm. I have no idea how this place is related to Lee Lin(a 5 * in my book). Food looked aweful and was barely edible. And for $ 30 for 2 people it’s a complete rip off.

a lot of the food was over cooked. the staff was pretty nice. they cook with like non fat oil so i thought that was cool. they have a lot of food to choose from, but it wasn’t that great. the sushi was chewy. plus it was $ 12 a person for dinner.

I’m a huge fan of Kobe Buffet. Only buffet I have found in the Albany area that has a great selection of all you can eat sushi. It’s not the best sushi(what do you expect for all you can eat at a buffet) but it is certainly not the worst. Unfortunately many of my friends are not huge sushi/seafood fans and they don’t enjoy their hot food as much as other buffets, so despite my constant prodding we always end up this buffet when we decide to go to one.

i was never a huge fan of chinese buffet, but kobe’s is pretty sweet. it is really a meat/seafood lovers’ place to be, although they offer quite a bit more as well. i mean jesus, it’s a chinese buffet.

I was there this pass weekend, I think Kobe Buffet was bad. The Sushi was dry and the dinner price a bit high. Every time I saw someone get up and head over for some seafood there was an old man(I think he might be the owner) he would be right next to the guy ^_^. It felt really uncomfortable. I don’t like Kobe Buffet I think Capital and Dragon Buffet is way better, they both have more to offer.

We’ve had no issues dining at Kobe Buffet. This building has changed hands over the years and used to be a Ponderosa in the 1980s and 1990s before becoming Grand Buffet and Dragon Buffet and now Kobe Buffet, which is ACTUALLY busy on the weekends with the parking lot nearly full. My best buddy and I enjoy Kobe Buffet for lunch and dinner. However, we both miss the Ponderosa presence in the immediate Capital District, where we’ve enjoyed many very filling and inexpensive meals. No fret, the closest Ponderosa is located on Route 30 in Amsterdam. Kobe Buffet is owned and operated by the same family who run Lee Lin in Troy. During dinnertime, the buffet offers the typical«Americanized» Chinese food, specialty dim sum items, soups, American dishes, seafood(crab legs, blue crabs, crawfish, shrimp, mussels), cold salads, sushi, hibachi grill, desserts(fruit, soft serve ice cream, cakes, cookies), Pepsi fountain drinks, and more. You can also get lobster for an additional $ 9.00 with dinner buffet purchase. Much of the buffet food to us is greasy, but okay and filling. I enjoy the hibachi grill(you choose meats, vegetables, noodles, they cook it). The sushi is «buffet quality» sushi, we take our chances anyways. The service here is efficient with clearing of used dishes between trips and free refills offered and given on soda. Pretty good meals each time! I haven’t had an issue on the cleanliness of the place other than some mess at the buffet stations, but I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled next time. The buffet prices(as of 05⁄2008) are: Adults: Lunch: $ 6.95(Mon-Sat); Dinner: $ 11.95(Mon-Sat & All Day Sunday) Kids(7 – 12): Lunch: $ 4.25(Mon-Fri); Dinner: $ 5.95(Mon-Sat & All Day Sunday) Kids(3 – 6): Lunch: $ 3.25(Mon-Sat); Dinner: $ 3.95(Mon-Sat & All Day Sunday) Kids(Under 3): FREE
