Excellent Seafood choices, and the service was great as well!

Every time my sister and her family come in, this restaurant is on their absolute must list. Unfortunately, every time they’ve came here, I was unable to join them. During this visit, they decided to take me out to lunch to celebrate my birthday and I left so happy. I didn’t do a tour of the restaurant but what I did see while being escorted to our table outdoors was an upscale beautifully decorated restaurant with an eye catching large fresh raw bar. The outdoor seating is covered and has fans to keep us cool during this hot humid day. We couldn’t give up the view of the water with million dollar yachts passing by. Such a great ambiance for that special occasion. My sister and brother-in-law raved about how amazing the calamari was so of course we got the shrimp & calamari along with the crab cakes to start with. Both were the best I’ve had in a long time. The calamari was perfectly cooked with a thin flour coating and had just the right amount of sweet chili sauce coating each shrimp and calamari. The crab cake was all meat with very little filler and the sauce was out of this world. I could come here and just make these appetizers my meal alone. For entrees, my daughter got the seafood angel hair pasta which I thought was alright but she loved it. It tasted exactly like the sea. I mean it is seafood pasta but it lacked something making the dish taste like saltwater but my daughter loved it. My sister and I split the swordfish topped with papaya salad. Super yummy! My favorite part of the dish was the barley with raisins. I have no idea what they did to it but I need the recipe! Nice & creamy and the sweetness of the raisins was such a pleasant surprise. The swordfish was good but the Mahi Mahi entrée was the star today. I think we ended up eating half his fish when he walked away to go to the restroom. Of course, I had to get dessert on this celebratory day of my birth. My sister stated that the banana fosters crème brulee is the best she’s ever had but they made some changes to their menu and only offer it at dinner now. We ordered the regular crème brulee and key lime pie. Both were average. I felt that the custard balance was off(too much) making the dessert too heavy for my liking. Luckily we split the entrees because after dessert, I would have hated myself. I definitely need to come back and check out their dinner. Until next time.

I belong to a professional association that dines here once a month, the evening before our general meeting. As I am not«fish friendly,» I was skeptical the first time we met to eat here. But the menu selections for people like me and the accommodating waitstaff helped me push aside my fear of fish! Though the primary focus of the menu are creatures from the sea, there are plenty of meat choices for the most manly of carnivores. 10 or 12 of us meet here every month for dinner. And though we ask for separate checks(in advance, of course), there’s never a foul up, never a complaint. Just friendly, compliant, and efficient service. We tip well! And clearly, management has taken note. At some point each of us has been taken aside and been offered«anything we need in the future.» That’s how it should be, it’s a pricey place. But very tasty.

We went for a lovely dinner on vacation on a whim while taking a walk but did not expect the gorgeous view and meal we experienced!!! We started each with a cocktail(rose and martini– spot on!), Brian had some delicious crusty bread with an aromatic garlic oil. We had appetizers at a previous restaurant do we only ordered 2 entrees.(All the starters that came out past our table looked divine! Especially the seafood tower) I ordered the scallops with butternut squash and bacon jam. Scallops were cooked to perfection. Brian ordered the blackened mahi with lobster mac and cheese with chorizo. We were so satisfied we couldn’t even have dessert. What a great experience and dinner. The waterway was lovely to watch while we dined and sipped cocktails. Thank you.

The food was good but over priced. We were a table of 7 and our bill came to $ 540 total with gratuity with entrees, 2 small appetizers, 5 drinks, and three desserts. Our server was very friendly and even brought my mother a piece of cheesecake for her 60th birthday. I would go back but wish they would reduce their prices slightly.

Pretentious? Kinda. Overpriced? That too. But the food and service were quite good and the atmosphere is great. I really enjoyed my meal here. Went for dinner on a beautiful April evening. Nicely decorated, modern interior with a large outdoor seating area on the Intracoastal waterway. Most tables have a great view as long as you sit outside. Forget about the sticker shock, treat yourself and someone you love, and go have a nice meal.

We found Blue Moon’s Sunday brunch when we used to live here, so we had to try it again when we came back. Blue Moon has one of the absolute best Sunday Brunches we have experienced. We had a reservation, arrived a few minutes early and were immediately seated at a table right on the water. Perfect! We started with a Blood Mary. It was good, although a bit overly spice for my taste. We also had a Mimosa that was quite good. Service has always been stellar at Blue Moon. Never an empty water glass or dirty plates sitting around. All the servers are friendly and very knowledgeable. The buffet portion Is expansive with seafood, sushi, hand carved meats, cooked to order eggs, pastries/breads, and a huge dessert table that even has itty bitty baby crème brulees(I think I had 5?!?). Then there’s the Tapas. Wow, they never cease to amaze. Between us we had(at least 1 and often more) salmon, scallop, lamb chop, fish taco, and swordfish. They were all elegantly plated, delicious and perfectly sized. If you want a nice, upscale casual meal, right on the Intercoastal, Blue Moon is definitely a place to eat. Be sure to make a reservation, especially for the brunch.

In Broward county. Hands down the best Sunday brunch buffet. Everything is fresh and flavorful. Staff were courteous and were attentive. For the array of small plates to order as much as you want, to the raw bar, the meat station, baked goods, the dessert selection. the ceviche … The grilled octopus, the crabcake. Just a lot to choose from. Come really hungry. So worth the money. The view of the intercoastal is awesome. This is my 20th time being there. LOL

My friend and I went 03/14/2016 @ 2:00 in the afternoon. It is a beautiful view, on the water, watching the boats sail by. White linen table cloths, polite wait staff, great wine list… Be prepared to spend your cho-chos! This place is muy dineros!!! My friend and I shared– Hush Puppies 11.00 Calamari 13.00 Shrimp Cobb 19.00 Sticky Icky(dessert) 9.00 Mussels(19.00) but we had to send them back, they were horrible that day. SO yeah… we had a $ 55.00 lunch.(with no alcohol) It was not crowded by the time we got there. There were getting ready to transition into dinner. A lot of older people. I am assuming people that can afford these prices for lunch. You have to valet. There are«tow» signs everywhere. The waiter was REALLY upselling the brunch. $ 62 for unlimited seafood and mimosas, bloody marys and bellinis? We were leaving the area on Saturday, so we couldn’t make it. Ambiance: Lovely Waitstaff: Attentive Customer service(hostess, valet): very sweet Food: Okay– not horrible– I believe I could have gotten more bang for the buck… but ehhhh Location: easy to find I think you are paying or the location. It was beautiful. We lingered there for at least an hour and a half.

Wow this was a treat and we Stumbled upon it by mistake. The place is beautiful inside and the location. is second to none. You eat on the water. Service was top class and the hostess was also friendly. Wife had clams on the half shell which were perfectly sized and sweet. I had Oysters NO firecracker style and they were sweet tender not over cooked. My wife loved them and she does not eat Oysters! I had the grilled Octopus which was unique flavor, char veg, tomatoes and a light vinaigrette. Wife had Blackend fish tacos which I loved, popping with flavor. We will be back here with my daughter in two weeks

Blue Moon Fish is a brunch experience that’s as good as it gets! We arrived at noon and sat outside against the water, cool breeze blowing and warm sun beating. The service was immediate… mimosas, champagne, and bloody marys were our first enjoyment. Then, opting in for the self serve buffet, we feasted on 3 plates of omelets, french toast, carving station, oysters fresh off the boat… YOUNAMEIT, WEHADIT! Our bellies were completely satisfied upon leaving. Needless to say, it’s a must try if you’re willing to drop a few $$$ for a delicious brunch.

This was a belated Valentines Dinner from my husband. But so worth the wait. Our reservation was at 7:45 and we arrived a bit early but were seated immediately on the outside patio. It was beautiful, the view, the temperature outside, maybe a little dark for reading the menus, but otherwise amazingly romantic. It helped that my company was also kinda cute. We started with the Lychee Martini. This is my favorite martini and typically I say that Thai House on Commercial makes the best ever. I have since changed my mind. This martini is intense — strong, flavorful, with 2 of the fruit suspended in the drink. Amazing. They also served us fresh crusty bread to dip in olive oil, seasonings and garlic. My WEAKNESS! I had two pieces — chewing slowly and savoring every minute — so I wouldn’t ruin my entrée. For Appetizers we had the Tuna Poke — which we shared. A chunky cut of tuna, dressed in avocado [which the husband scooped out onto my plate], and lemon, cilantro… served with chips. This was soo tasty. Tasty enough to use the left over bread to eat with it. Don’t judge me… I’m island. For dinner He had the special of the Night, a white fish — I cant recall the name, cooked to perfection over a hash filled with crab lump meat, and I had the lamb chops, with grilled vegetables and polenta. Initially he thought that I had gotten the best choice, the lamb was tender and juicy, and after his first taste he almost considered changing his order, but although my entrée was good, his was just as good. Regardless, we couldnt finish either of them… and had half a meal each to take home in our goody bag. For some reason, i decided I would still have dessert, and while the sweet choices were amazing — beignets, bananas foster — I opted for the sorbet — a 3 scoop treat of Pear, Black Currant and Strawberry — in a waffle cup with a side of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. We destroyed it. It was the perfect palette cleaner — fresh and not too sweet and the perfect size. We really enjoyed this restaurant, the view and the ambience was well worth it. Its not cheap, but well worth the price of the meals. I would definitely come back for a special occasion… or maybe just for the Lychee martinis.

You want the good news or the bad news first? Well my experience here wasn’t four stars, but my food certainly was. We started out being yelled at by the valet guy telling us we couldn’t park in this particular spot and that we should read the sign. There was no sign, which we told him, to which he started arguing with us? Professional? Good start? Hell no. We moved the car anyway. We showed up at maybe 3−4pm ish which is kind of late for lunch and early for dinner, luckily they have an «in between» menu. We were seated right on the water which was just wonderful. Maybe because it was between mealtimes, service wasn’t great, it seemed like everyone was busy prepping something, when asking for a menu we were only provided one, then 10 min later another one appeared. I started with a Riesling; it was idyllic sitting looking at the water and boats go by with glass of wine in hand — and having a good chat with Rico N! I ordered the ceviche as we decided to only have a small bite then head to Las Olas. I found the ceviche to be reasonably priced at around $ 15, it was presented beautifully, and talk about fresh! Omg it was super packed with cilantro(just how I like it), zesty, stuffed with soft, succulent corvina and shrimp. Hands down a modern ceviche marvel… I’ll be back for another dose of that, just hope the service is a bit better.

Yum! Went Saturday night for the Valentine’s Day festivities and the food was Divine! We were seated in the outside patio overlooking the water and everything including the stars aligned. LOL. All kidding aside, it’s a bit pricy to eat here but the food is fresh and GOOD. I would recommend the grilled Mahi with the Mac & Peas risotto. The Scallop entrée, although a big dish, not quite filling. The dry rose by the glass paired perfectly with the dish. Can’t wait to try them for Brunch!

Might be my favorite place in Fort Lauderdale now. My boyfriend and I visited here for Valentine’s Day and ordered the firecracker oysters, Brie appetizer, mahi mahi, and scallops. I couldn’t pick a favorite dish if I tried because they were all literally THATGOOD. I’m not an oyster person at all but the firecracker oysters… Oh my gosh, so delicious. Can’t wait to come back for just dessert and drinks and try the soufflé. :)

We totally forgot about Blue Moon since the last time we were here years ago until one of our friends wanted to go to dinner somewhere where we could sit outside with a good South Florida atmosphere. Blue Moon is probably up there in the top places to go for great fish and tremendous outdoor atmosphere. In fact most of the seating IS outdoors under a covered roof overlooking the Inter Coastal on the east side of the bridge over Commercial Blvd. First impressions of restaurants always start as you walk in the front door. We walked in and immediately felt and saw the theme: BLUEMOON. The ambiance was pretty clear that they wanted you to feel like you were sitting in a blue cloud throughout the whole place, inside and out. It was really kind of a sexy lighting scheme throughout. Everywhere you are, all the pictures you take, all have soft blue lighting, thus, Blue Moon. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a lovely hostess and got there 45 minutes before our reservations so we can go to the bar for drinks. On the right of the front entrance, the Oyster Bar, with it’s outstanding presentation of Oysters, Stone Crabs, and all sorts of shellfish takes over your appetite immediately. It is such a beautiful presentation, and I felt like I need to indulge in shellfish tonight, as my eyes took this in right to my stomach!!! Pretty good marketing ploy!!! On the way to the bar, I took a «blue stroll» around the restaurant to get a glimpse of the layout of the place. The tables in the inside dining room are nicely spaced out and in full view of the kitchen prep area and the full blue lit up bar in the back. When I took a step to the outside seating area, I was quick to notice that the seating outside was 4 times larger than the inside dining room. It is all covered and has a beautiful view right on the Inter Coastal. We planted ourselves at the bar as we waited for the rest of our party to show up. There were some great wine selections, and great top end wines by the glass such as Caymus, Staggs Leap, and many others. The prices on the wines by the glass of course were up there at about $ 18.00-$ 25.00 a glass but for what you get and the large pours at a place like Blue Moon, it was not unrealistic. The bottle prices are much more reasonable and it always makes more sense to buy the bottle instead of the glass, but our friends were already bringing their own bottle for dinner, so we stuck to a glass each. Crystal, our bartender was incredibly friendly and had a great bubbly personality. She saw us taking all these pictures and kindly offered to take ours. At the bar we met a couple people who ordered Blue Moon’s Ice Seafood Tower, a large shellfish combination dish with Stone Crabs, Oysters, Shrimp, Clams, miso honey Tuna and a Main Lobster Cocktail. It was a large beautiful presentation and we were told by one of the regulars that the Main Lobster Cocktail was the best he’s had in South Florida. It was served right in the lobster tail and looked amazing. Pricey $ 89.00 but good to share for 3 people. Great bar food, or a starter before dinner at the table, served on a bed of ice. When the rest of our party showed up, we were escorted to our table outside. It was a beautiful night and the view was incredible over the water. This is South Florida dining at its best. For appetizers, we ordered the Grilled Octopus, as good as I ever had and so well prepared with tomatoes, artichoke and lemon vinaigrette. My friend had the Fresh Burrata Mozzarella Salad, and my wife loved her Iceberg Salad Wedge with Maytag Crumpled Blue Cheese, avocado and buttermilk dressing. I had the Crispy Whole Yellowtail Snapper for my entrée. I love the whole snapper and have had it prepared differently and never the same, depending where you go. The fish was excellent but not as good as some Whole Yellowtail I have had at other places. The breading was a little hard and dry on the outside. This was a lot more plain and not much extra flavors accompanied with the dish. Personally, Peruvian restaurants got me on this dish, and prepare it the best in my opinion. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass and she loved it, probably better than most places. The last dish at our table was the Yellowtail Snapper filet, much more moist and flakey than the Crispy Whole Snapper I had. My friend seemed to really like it except the spice in the sauce was a little too much, somewhat like a Creole Sauce. Most definitely, the fish at Blue Moon is so fresh and the recipes and combinations of flavors on the dish sides were excellent if you are a fresh fish eater. Lastly, thanks to James, our service outside was excellent and he never missed a thing. Keep in mind, Blue Moon is pricey and may just be the place to go for special occasions or a real nice date outside in the Blue Cloud on the Inter Coastal. We will be back and definitely for Oysters, Stone Crab and the Lobster salad.

Try to seat outside if possible, it’s great. It has a great view of the Intercoastal waterway. The food is excellent: we had the Salmon, cooked to perfection, not a bit dry, and the grouper(not as excellent as the salmon, but ok). The key lime pie is delicious, but quite large. Pricy, but great dining option.

Came here and sat at the Bar and ordered appetizers and drinks. Love sitting at the bar because you can get a great view of the either the water or the whole restaurant scene. We ordered the Large Crab Cake that had plenty of crab meat. Also ordered the Crispy Calamari & Shrimp, both Apps were simply delicious and fresh! We came here last year and the food is still as good, no complaints. The bar staff couldn’t be nicer they made sure all our needs were taken care of. Lastly, they had a nice wine selection. All and all, we will be coming back before our trip ends.

This was our third visit to Blue Moon Fish and it will be our last. Our first 2 visits, we loved the Sunday Brunch, there were so many choices, this time, not so much. We had a reservation for Valentine’s Day at 10:00 a.m., we arrived and were quickly seated. Our plan was to spend a few hours there like we normally do. I walked to the buffet and was shocked to see that so much had changed, what happened to the pasta stations to start with? I got a made to order omelette, it was not good at all, the veggies were barely sauteed and just thrown in, it fell apart with each bite I tried to take. The breakfast potatoes were hugely under-cooked. I went back inside and decided I would move on to the meats(I am still wondering what happened to the amazing pasta stations??) the server cuts me the end piece of the roast beef, it was dry and overdone. The mashed potatoes were good. I got few pieces of cheese and the only choice of crackers, water crackers. The salads were decent looking, but it was so packed inside and lines were forming everywhere, so I gave up on getting anymore food. I decided to move onto the desert station which used to be my favorite, it was bare. There were not that many selections and the ice cream freezer was gone! We did order a few small plates, the crabcakes were terrible, just awful, they were the fishiest tasting crabcakes I have ever eaten. The mahi was not good at all, it was served on top of mashed potatoes, very strange to me. My husband got sushi and crab legs, both he said we fine. When the waiter picked up his old plate, he accidentally spilled the soy sauce all over the tablecloth and my chair. His fix was to throw a napkin over the area where the spill occurred, great, it covered the massive stain, but not the smell. I couldn’t even try to eat anymore desert because the smell of soy sauce was so strong. We frequently ran out of water and champagne. We ended up paying our tab(with tip $ 160) and left there feeling like we had been ripped off. On the way out, the lines at the buffet stations were crazy, people were 5 and 10 deep trying to get food and there was a crowd at the front door waiting to be seated. We were there for less than an hour. It was a huge waste of time and money. I have no idea why they changed the buffet menu. Oh and one note. Sitting on the dock, its beautiful if you are looking out at the water, but the problem is, you are eye level with the other patron’s feet. It is just a piece of glass separating you from people’s feet. It grosses me out!

My family and I came here for Christmas dinner. We made reservations through Unilocal, which was pretty cool. After reading reviews, looking at the menu and looking at some photos, I felt comfortable that this would be a nice place to go. I realized in my confirmation email that this was a buffet style meal that cost $ 65 per person. It included all you could eat plus a glass of champagne. I was kind of apprehensive, but it would’ve been difficult to find another restaurant on a holiday on such short notice. When we arrived, we found out that the reservation we made was useless. They can’t access the reservations made online at the host station. But, luckily they had tables open near the water. The view was beautiful and water front dining is always nice. The food was not impressive to me at all. I’ve had buffet food of comparable quality at $ 26 buffets. They had all the fixings you would typically find at a slightly upscale Asian buffet. To be fair, the roast beef was truly excellent. The service was impeccable. The wait staff was super attentive, helpful and friendly. I feel like we really got the sort end of the stick here because it seemed like their regular menu is much, much better than what I experienced. Maybe I’ll try this place again some time. But NEVER for a buffet. If I’m trying to drop a few hundred bucks, I’d rather at least have a whole lobster, filet mignon or wagyu steak.

I’m so in love with this place. If I lived in Ft Lauderdale, I’d probably be broke just from dining here often. I love the service, the environment, and the food. Service is top notch. They really make you feel welcome, extremely knowledgeable, and all around good at what they do. Food is also amazing. Everything tastes so fresh. My favorite dish/appetizer has to be the rock shrimp and calamari. It’s lightly battered and tossed in this delicious sweet and spicy sauce. The last time I came here, I ordered the fish tacos and it did not disappoint at all. So satisfying. Again, not too much batter so you can really taste the fish. The slaw in it was also delicious. Lastly, get the crème brûlée. They do a perfect glazed top. Lastly, the environment is breathtaking. Done outside and you get an amazing view of the dock. If you’re fancy like that and have a boat, you can dock your boat here and hop off to dine. Can’t wait to dine here again

Family made reservations here as we were visiting from out of town. I really would give this 3.5 and not 4 stars. We sat outside and had a great table on the water. My main complaint is that the food is solid good seafood well prepared albeit not much creativity, but the prices are bordering on exorbitant for what it is. Virtually no seafood less than $ 40s. Fresh seafood caught off the coast should not cost this much. $ 30 maybe, but $ 40 is ridiculous for seafood. We had an appetizer of calamari and shrimp. It was very good with a sweet chili sauce. Pretty small portion for the price. For entrée I had the scallops which were well prepared with a nice crust. Again Good execution and portion just priced too high. The table got an array of desserts including hot chocolate pie, key lime pie, cheese cake and some sort of apple dumpling. The best was the chocolate for me. All were good but nothing surprising or out of the box. For this price point it should be. Bottom line is beautiful space, good service and well prepared food. Just expect to me knocked over for these prices and I wasn’t. Maybe that’s why the restaurant was only half filled on a Saturday night during season.

So i came back here after many years. I used to live in Fort Lauderdale and was a frequent visitor, it was always solid food and service as i remembered . A friend wanted to go out to dinner and i suggested Blue Moon, It did not disappoint. My friend loved it. The food is still solid. We ordered some cocktails, Moscow Mule to be exact which were ok. The food however was delicious. We had the Diver Scallops and burrata to start. Very yummy For our entrees we both had the seabass it was delicious but every time i’ve been here i order seabass. Next time i will try something else. Menu is extensive seafood menu. Dessert was their famous chocolate soufflé which is still as yummy as i remembered! Service was friendly even though the restaurant was completely packed on a Friday night. We were lucky enough to be seated outside in their beautiful patio which is waterfront where you can enjoy the view and watch the yachts go by. That is what Fort Lauderdale is all about anyway. It was so good that i was back here on Sunday too! They have a great unlimited mimosas brunch which is a buffet menu and a la carte items. They have everything from crab to shrimp to delicious desserts. $ 60 per person which was very reasonable for everything we had! Our friends were very happy with our choice of restaurant. Awesome.

Blue Moon truly lives up to the hype! We decided late to go out and grab dinner and Blue Moon was top of mind. I decided to make a reservation on Open Table and was in luck. Valet parking is a breeze and quite a value at $ 3. I checked in at the hostess stand and we were seated right away. Typically we’d show up early and have our first drink at their amazing bar but last night we were pushed for time. We were seated at the best table on the water and with the cool night breeze we were«happy campers» as they say. Once seated our water glasses were filled and the extra place settings removed. Our server was over right away to welcome us and take drink orders. We couldn’t stop talking about the table we were seated at, just perfect right along the waters edge. The server reviewed the specials with us amongst which were four oyster selections from around the country so wifey went with a half dozen from Connecticut. I went with the Chilean Sea Bass which was served stir fry style with crunchy fresh vegetables in a miso broth. I had a Caesar salad to start. The whole night was terrific! The service was top notch, the view overlooking the Intracoastal was soothing and relaxing and the food was amazing! If you haven’t tried Blue Moon, put it in the list for weekend brunch or dinner! We’re spoiled because it’s in our neighborhood… Bön appetite!

I love this place! I like sitting at the patio looking at the intracoastal. I come here for lunch, brunch and dinner, dinner time is very romantic, love those blue lights. I love seafood, they always have fresh seafood, the menu is southern(creole) style so it’s not the usual boring meat and fish kind of a place like any other restaurants in the area… The service is always good, they have one of the best brunch here! They have everything from Breakfast(omelet bar), sushi, fresh seafood(oyster, crab legs…), and awesome dessert, and you can order small plates like bite size waffle, conch fritter(so yum) etc… I’ve only been here for brunch once, but I will definitely go back for brunch, and of course for lunch and dinner as well.
