I ate at this restaurant nearly 3 months ago. However, my husband and I still talk about the amazing owner, Anthony, and his wonderful gem of a ceviche spot! First of all, the décor of this restaurant is very, very cool. Chic, modern, yet inviting. They made the most of their small space. Second, the owner, Anthony, is one real dude. He’s a great guy, very personable and definitely loves the work he does. Last, the food is AMAZING. My husband is from California, and as everyone knows, San Diegans are obsessed with tacos. This restaurant would do very well in San Diego, and that’s saying a lot, given that there are more taco stands and restaurants in San Diego than anything else. The authenticity of the tostada and chips is unbelievable for a SoFl spot. The octopus tacos are to die for. Just writing this makes me want to make the 45 min drive from Miami beach! I hope you’re doing well, Anthony. And I hope your wife and kids are as well. Good luck with this business– we will visit you again soon! Vanessa, Kaleb, and our energetic kids! PS, this spot is also very kid friendly; a nice plus!

The owner Anthony served us. What a pleasant man! So friendly and down to earth, and honest. They have a simple menu, with ceviche and ceviche tacos. Delicious! We had a ceviche platter, all of which were delicious but I was partial to the Asian one. We loved the shrimp tacos(sauce was on point!). If you need something with a little kick get the Korean steak tacos. If you have specific requests, they are more than happy to oblige. Would highly for delicious and healthy food, as well just a place to grab a drink and hang out!

My wife and I were stuck in the area due to the January snowstorm in the northeast. We were staying near Ft. Lauderdale by the sea and my wife was hankering for ceviche. I found this place on Unilocal and we went ther for a Monday lunch. The place was very quiet, but very inviting. There is an ample bar and charming décor. I imagine it does a fine business in the evening. She had ceviche and I had shrimp tacos. Both were excellent.

We ordered 3 tacos. Shrimp, chicken and steak. Not sure which of the 3 was worse but I am sure that they were the 3 worst tacos I’ve ever tried in my life. I’m still baffled at how they could intentionally make tacos that disgusting.

Cute little place! We got there about the time it opened and were the only customers and had great service!!! I had the mahi tacos and my husband had the tuna tacos… We each had one of the others tacos so both were delicious!!! We also shared a medium original ceviche and it was flavorful and juicy! I came away stuffed! Would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

We loved it! the place is as creative and authentic as the food, and the service is excelent! we went on sunday for lunch with some friends so we wanted to try a little bit of everithing, its hard to pick my favorite because everything was very nicely presented and so flavorfull, but what stands out is the green papaya salad, the tuna tacos, the asian and peruvian ceviche, the Mahi tacos and the amazing churros with ice cream!

Everything about this place won me over. The food was amazing, the service was great, the décor was very tasteful. The ceviche was light, refreshing and packed with flavors. The Ahi toastadas are a definite must have. And the octopus tacos are remarkable. I’ve never thought of putting octopus on a taco but im glad someone did and they didn’t disappoint. Definitely a go to place everytime I’m in fort lauderdale.

I’ve noted the awesome reviews for Get Reel, but since it’s just a bit out of my work lunch time driving radius, and not in an area I frequent for dinner, I figured I’d never get here. However, not much was happening the work week between Christmas and New Years and a few coworkers figured we could extend our lunch time by a few minutes and get here, so off we went! First off, the parking. A very small strip mall near the beach, so expect parking to be a little crazy. We got lucky and found a spot, but note they are metered spots, though 50cents for 1 hour at lunch time on a weekday wasn’t anything to complain about. The place was empty when we arrived so we grabbed some seats and ordered our drinks. I stick to H2O when not drinking the –OH, so I went with that. Of course water is water, but I did like the glasses they came out in. Should note now how cute this place is. Very small, very rustic means the ocean interior, overall it was just my scene! Highly suggest coming here for a happy hour and sitting at the bar, then maybe taking a stroll down the beach. The three of us had decided to order multiple items and share, this way we could sample a few things and not feel too guilty. Since taco plates have 3 to an order this made swapping our tacos between three people quite easy(not sure if they’ll let your order a plate with 3 different kinds in one go?). We opted to try the shrimp tacos, the Korean beef, and the mahi mahi. I think each of us had decided beforehand which we were expecting to be the favorite, but in the end all concluded the mahi mahi was the winner. Tacos did come with a side of chips and some sort of white sauce. I love any and all white sauces(please refrain from white sauce jokes lol) and this one didn’t let me down, but sadly my plate only had about 4 measly chips so I was a bit disappointed in that respect. We also got a ceviche to share(smallest size) and loved it. Quite traditional with just the right amount of heat. I’m not one who has to eat their ceviche with chips, I’ll go full steam ahead with just my fork, but again, having some chips for the others might have been nice. Everything came out very quickly(again we were the only ones here) so our extended lunch didn’t really run too much over the hour, and our service was great. Again, extremely cute place with a great atmosphere and decent food!

Went here with some coworkers for a lunchtime excursion a few weeks ago. Came away with the impression of it being a decent place, but it somehow failed to wow me. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, but since I have to choose I’m going with 3. Depending on how you’re wired, you may easily have a great time here and there are no big glaring negatives(though there are some moderate ones). For me it comes down to value, and I just find it a little lacking. So, let’s start with the parking situation. It’s pretty close to the ocean so, perhaps understandably, there’s meters in the parking lot. However, you do have have to factor in that cost into you trip. There is also limited parking, so I think on busy days that could be an issue. The actual place is very nicely done. You can tell it’s new, the signage is very modern, and inside is clean and«cool» would be the best way to describe it. Very much an upscale but casual kind of place. Seating is limited, but we were the only people there during pretty much our whole visit. This is nice in one way but it also always sets off my radar. Usually if a place is really good and on a main drag like commercial blvd and A1A, people will be there. Service was great with no issues. We ordered 3 different tacos and swapped around so we got to taste everything. Presentation was nicely done, you could tell the tacos were put together with some care. As far as taste, my personal favorite was the Mahi taco. This tasted pretty good, the fish was tender and the flavorings worked well together. I liked the choice of red onions for this one in particular. The other two were, to be honest, not overly memorable. The grilled shrimp taco was certainly acceptable but nothing to excite me. The disappointing one was the Korean beef. I saw a little chili pepper outline next to the name and had already prepared myself for an onslaught of spiciness. Instead, I got not even a hint of heat out of it. This is coming from someone with the heat tolerance of an ice sculpture. Maybe I misinterpreted the menu, but without a clear explanation it’s hard to say. One of the reasons I guess I’m judging a little bit on this one is the price. If you can see by the photos and the menus, it’s definitely a bit pricey for an everyday lunch. Yes it is located in the beautiful Lauderdale by the Sea, but you aren’t going to be watching the ocean out of their window. You’re going to be watching traffic whiz by on Commercial Blvd and the parking meters slowly consume your change. I can only judge based on lunch, as I haven’t been here for dinner, but to me there are PLENTY of awesome taco places in Fort Lauderdale. This place has potential but I think they need to do some retooling in some way or another. Hopefully they figure it out, the staff and owner seem invested in it.

I haven’t been on Unilocal in a while but I had to get back on and give this place a review! This place just opened up a few months ago. This was my first time at Get Reel Ceviche and it will definitely not be my last. Everything was amazing! My fiancé and I started with the classic ceviche with octopus added. My fiancé literally took the bowl and drank the left over juices from the ceviche because it was that delicious. We shared the Korean Steak tacos and the Pulled Pork Burrito(the tropical rice was incredible)! I am so glad that I live near by because that was AMAZING!

This place is really good at mixing Mexican tacos with Peruvian ceviche. The ceviche served here is a little different from the typical ceviche served in South Florida. While most places serve ceviche that’s a mixture of different fishes, they just serve corvina here(which is the traditional Peruvian ceviche fish along with sea bass). It’s also a little spicier than usual here if you get it peruano or classic style(Asian style is milder). Anyway, the fish is fresh and the marinade is flavorful. It’s served with a little piece of corn on the cob, a few small pieces of sweet potato, and toasted corn. The tacos served here are more of the traditional Mexican variety as opposed to Tex-Mex. They’re small(two bites per taco as I recall it), but flavorful. I might call them a bit overpriced if they weren’t so darn tasty. The octopus taco seems to be the consensus favorite and I concur, although the tacos seem to get rave reviews across the board. In terms of alcoholic drinks, they just have beer and wine, and not a large selection, but it’s good for what it is. The Green Fin chardonnay seems to go best with the ceviche. I find that the beer doesn’t go as well with it. In terms of desserts, it’s basically just churros and apple pie(both served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream), but they’re both delicious. Perhaps the best churros I’ve ever had. This place is pretty small(3 inside tables, 5 bar stools, 1 outside table), but not really cramped because they’re not trying to overcompensate for the lack of space. The lack of space might become more of an issue as this place becomes more popular, but it seems to work for now. They seem to be spreading by word of mouth more than anything else. The owners seem to care a lot and the workers seem to be relatives of the owners who also care a lot and the service is very friendly but in a relaxed and casual way, not a put on.

Overall, 2 thumbs up! I decided to check out this new establishment in my neighborhood. The place is small(be careful who might miss it from the road) and on this night was quiet, and I decided to sit at the bar. The only person working the front turned out to be the owner. He was nice and attentive, giving me recommendations. I ordered the Peruano ceviche, which was AMAZING!!! The flavor was delicate with alittle kick and the fish was so fresh! Because is was slow I was able to order 3 different flavored tacos: Tuna, octopus, and Korean steak. The octopus and steak were good but the stand out was the tuna, it was seared tuna with seaweed and an aioli. They had a concentrated yet good selection of craft beers, didn’t see any hard alcohol. Definitely recommend this place, ceviche was out of this world(so good I grabbed one to-go).

Customer service rules here. The owner takes pride in his establishment. It is the CUTEST little place, you can easily miss the parking lot turn in… its on the south side of Commercial Blvd between the drawbridge and A1A… its a one way parking lot with a narrow entrance so just take your time, don’t worry about ppl blowing going nutz behind you… lol. We happened to arrive near the end of happy hour and we sat at the bar… the place is very eclectic but warm. I had the tortilla soup, guacamole and the lemonade… all fresh and tasty, the soup was a special recipe… om nom. We ate selections from the happy hour menu this time which were good, but we will definitely be back for cerviche… and that churro though. Lol. Neighborhood gem. The churro…

The motto behind Get Reel Ceviche is «Keppin’ it Reel, Simple & Fresh,» and along those lines, that is pretty much in keeping with what Get Reel Ceviche is like, with an emphasis upon the«Simple.» It’s a tiny near hole in the wall type of restaurant, simple in décor void of pizzazz or lavishness, Matter of fact, the inside has a resemblance more akin to that of mom & pop coffee house than that of restaurant. I stopped by here for their Classic Ceviche with added octopus($ 3.00 additional) having a base purportedly composed of fish, lemon(I could swear I tasted lime), tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeño and celery. When served the presentation was exceedingly simple and to my eye and taste somewhat more in keeping with many of the very good ceviche I’ve had in Mexico as opposed to those I’ve had in Peru. Indeed, the corn used was typical sweet corn as opposed to colorful purples and a side of salsa like chips as opposed to the large roasted corn kernels which commonly accompany Peruvian ceviche. I know there a ragging battle persists between which is best, the Peruvian(it’s their National Dish) and the Mexican, but I love both and by comparison find as being neither worse nor better than the other; just being somewhat different. My service, though clearly somewhat unskilled, was friendly, helpful and polite and as for the ceviche I had, totally fresh in taste having a nice texture, hearty in flavor and having an overall composition which I found be exceedingly good. So, for what the place is, being a simple ceviche and taco restaurant and being better than most in its class; Four Stars.

Great food in a casual setting. Don’t miss the guacamole, green papaya salad and the tortilla soup. Local Mango IPA was delicious. The tuna tacos have a strong seaweed taste.

We had the octopus tacos, Asian ceviche sub octopus, and the shrimp quesadilla. Everything was very good, the drink selection was extremely complimenting, but the shrimp quesadilla was unique and above all expectations. The interior was cozy and made the entire experience personal, something you don’t typically get with good food. Specifically, well priced food. I’ll without a doubt be back, and with a lot more friends.
