Delacaseas Café has been in Lauderdale by the Sea for as long as I can remember, I have stopped in several times for lunch, service was always friendly and the food always freshly made and delicious. I wished they were open later since they normally close right after lunch. Well, thanks to my friend Sherry W.‘s dinner invitation I now know about their secret prix fixe menu called«After Dark» on Saturdays which is an amazing deal at $ 25 pp! Not only is this an amazing deal for the phenomenal food quality and options but it’s BYOB and there is NO Corkage fee! Amazing!!! The prix fixe menu changes, and our selection for the night was the following: Amuse Bouche: — Baked artichoke Heart Soup: — Tomato Basil Soup — Lobster Bisque House Salad with balsamic vinaigrette Entrée: — Shrimp Scampi over bowtie pasta w/Aglio Olio — Pork Tenderloin Medallions — NY Strip — Salmon w/Teriyaki Ginger Glaze Dessert: — Bananas Foster The restaurant is small, cozy and it almost feels like you are seating at someone’s grandmothers house. Décor is cute and eclectic, and service is friendly and attentive. The Baked artichoke Heart was outstanding! Perfectly seasoned and baked, it was the perfect tease and exemplary representation of what was yet to come. I went with the Tomato Basil soup which was one of the best I have ever tried, simple, delicate yet so good and satisfying. The House salad was just a regular mix of greens but the house-made balsamic dressing was outstanding. For my entrée I selected the Pork Tenderloin Medallions and I opted for steamed broccoli for my side. The pork was outstanding, super tender, juicy and full of flavor, and served with a beautiful presentation, my plate was decorated with pretty flowers. I can’t recommend the«After Dark» experience enough, bring your own bottle of wine, and enjoy 5 star food for $ 25! Some items on the menu have a slight additional cost, but overall I will definitely be returning. Make sure you call ahead for reservations.

Great little hometown café. The food is all homemade, portions are generous and the prices reasonable. Sunday brunch special was a «bottomless» plate with asparagus and sundried tomato frittata, meat, fruit, scones and beverage for $ 12.99…outstanding!

We had breakfast here on a Sunday recently, I’d say it was a 3 ½ but I’ll give it a 4 OK but nothing special, Blueberry pancakes, omelettes … We’ll try it for dinner one evening and re-review it…

Not bad food, cute atmosphere. Very friendly woman waited on us. Not a very extensive menu, I had the breakfast sandwich which was ok but nothing great. I would try it again and hope for the best.

This is an amazing place that you must check out. You need to call ahead to make a dinner reservation for Saturday night(off season) to make sure they will be open. John, the owner, opened up for the three of us. The menu is a 5 course menu with your choice of entrees for $ 25. The chef came out to introduce himself. He is from Spain and cooks with a European flare. We started with a shrimp bruschetta topped with roasted red pepper. It was rich in flavor with cream cheese and scallions along with the shrimp. I had the creamed spinach soup that was very rich with cheese. A little bit of pepper gave it a kick too. The salad is made with fresh mixed greens, chopped cucumber, and the brightest juiciest tomatoes. They serve it with their homemade balsamic vinaigrette. My entrée was the lasagna. My mom had the pork loin stuffed with spinach and it was topped with a delicious gravy. It was served with grilled apples soaked in butter and homemade buttery mashed potatoes. It was rich and plentiful in size. The dessert was banana fosters topped with vanilla ice cream. John was our server and took great care of us. The cook also came out to check on us and deliver dishes. It is a casual atmosphere. On street metered parking is right out front of the restaurant. They are open for breakfast and lunch, but will open for dinner if you call in advance. During the winter months they fill up, so call early in the week. I can’t wait to visit this restaurant again to see what they are cooking up!

Delacaseas is a wonderful café in Lauderdale by the Sea off the main street of Commercial Blvd. It’s next to the magazine /cigar store where everyone buys their lottery tickets. By the way, a winner from last September has NOT yet claimed their $ 44,000. so if anyone has purchased tickets during September last year CHECKYOURTICKETS. The owner, John, makes the BEST scones almost daily and the Lobster Bisque is the most delicious. Prices soooo reasonable and the beach décor makes you know you are on vacation. We love to pop in for cappuccinos and I believe this is the ONLY place in town with an actual espresso machine. Most restaurants have those push button instant capps and lattes. OATMEAL the best! If you go once, you WILL return and they will remember your name. It’s like CHEERS only it’s a beach bistro.

Lost their good chef over a year ago and never recovered. All the owner seems concerned about is going on his cruises and milking the café for whatever he can. Now it is not even a good place to grab a take-out sandwich. Nothing kills a venue like lack of owner interest.

Heard good things about this place so while in the area I checked it out for breakfast. The place is a nice cute little spot about 3 blocks or so from the beach. We got immediate seating and served coffee and water. The coffee was great, which was a good sign. I had the French toast made with challah bread. My friend had the breakfast sandwich. Lots of other very interesting and delicious sounding selections too. Our food was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. There are not many breakfast places in the area so this place really satisfies. The service was fine. I look forward to a return dining experience.

This breaks my heart. I used to come here all the time when it was smaller. Now after the expansion, it’s slow, sloppy, overpriced and just not worth it. We just watched a man walk out after ten minutes and no one coming over to him. The giant cappuccino is now tiny and cold. I’ve asked twice for water, never got it, then my mother got an ice water with junk at the bottom. The waitress isn’t the stellar Helen, but a new lady who doesn’t understand English. Sad times, Delacaseas.

Server was incredibly slow. The restaurant was pretty much empty and the service was super slow. I watched another person walk out of the restaurant as he didn’t get greeted after 10 minutes. For such a small restaurant the manager or owner should pick it up a step and pay attention to patrons in the restaurant. Tip: put a sign to seat yourself if your staff is going to pretend like they don’t hear the door open and loud people entering. The food is good but fix your service or expect customers to not return! Angry customer*

Nice place. Good food for a good price. Not out of this world but a solid meal. The owner loves his place and with a little tweaking, this could be a top notch place.

What a difference a couple weeks make and not having the owner there. Went here today after having a nice experience last time big mistake. Order our food from a very rude waitress who we had to ask what the specials were today. Took our order came back to the table with the diet cokes we order and then tells us 2 of the items we order were sold out. It’s 11am and lunch items are sold out. Didn’t feel like having anything else here so told the waitress with blonde hair and accent we not ordering anything since they didn’t have what we wanted and she says ok and gives us the 4 dollar plus check we ordered thinking we were eating here. Wish she would have told us the items we ordered were out before giving us the drinks. Owner was really nice last time we were there but this waitress has ruined this place for us will not be back.

If there ever was a restaurant that would epitomize the definition of being«cutesy,» it’s Delacasea Catering & Café. Located just off East Commercial on Bougainvilla Drive in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Delacaseas is about as charming a little place as can be. Eating there is sort of a crisscross experience of dinning in your grandmother’s kitchen and a boutique store. Though definitely frumpy in its décor, delightfully so with a home everything home made atmosphere and appeal to it. I haven’t availed myself of their catering services so I can’t speak to that, but for breakfast or lunch you can’t do much better though their menu is extremely abbreviated. My favorite is their Signature Chicken Pie which for a mere $ 8.95 including a salad is a spectacular bargain. It’s loaded with plenty of chicken, perfectly seasoned, prepared and nicely presented. The wait staff is somewhat unusual since they don’t strike me as at all being the professional type with an approach and manner more like being a guest as someone’s home. It’s definitely a sit back, enjoy, no pressure, no hassle, no rush type of operation.

This adorable place is a great place to stop before heading to the beach for an impromptu picnic. It’s best for catering and John is always ready and helpful to make any event a fun party. Worth a visit!
