Checkers

First, I felt like I was being rushed when I placed my order. We knew what we wanted. Then, they forget to add 2 items that I order so I had to drive back around to get.

I was lost, had to drive back around the place because I added something to the order, and the lady was mad at me because it was her birthday and she had to work.
When getting to the hotel we realized the only thing that was right on the order was the fries and they were cold… Bad business

This location on N. University was not service friendly. The lady was rushing us to take our order when I already told the first guy that we weren’t ready. She literally asked if we were ready every 3 seconds. There were 2 lanes open and no lines. When I accidentally gave her short change (had my sunglasses on and couldn’t tell what coin I pulled out), she got really rude. We used to have Checkers in Houston, but they closed over 10 years ago. I was really looking forward to trying it again. It was disappointing. The meat patty wasn’t as fresh and flavorful as it used to be. The sauce is what keeps it ok. The bread is good, almost like potato bread cause it’s sweet. The fries are still excellent. It’s like curly fries but shoestring cut. The menu is different. It used to be set up like In n Out where you could order ¹⁄₃^rd lb. burger or whatever. The meals are too overpriced for the quality.

Service is lacking but the fries are always hot and fresh. They seriously do have some of the best fries in the fast food industry. Nicely seasoned and crispy. But everything else: YUCK! Their burgers are just gross. I basically only come here when I get my Checker ’ s fries craving every couple weeks. I’ve literally gone to Checker’s for fries and then drove down the street to McDonald’s to get a burger for a complete meal. That is how good their fries are and how terrible their burgers are. Their milkshakes are ok, not as good as Steak and Shake.

Fast and friendly service. With food that was hot and fresh. The mgr even told me to be careful of my mirror with the pole that was near it so I wouldn’t damage my car.

My cousin and I went here after a night of drinking and this place sure hit the spot for us. Their bacon cheeseburger and seasoned fries are full of unhealthy goodness that fills the stomach right up.
I do prefer Checker’s over a BK or McDonald’s, but not a Taco Bell if the night involves drinking and tomfoolery.
