I read all the reviews before posting mine and I can’t help but to be shocked by the negativity some of these reviews give off about this place. I was down in Laughlin with my girlfriend for the weekend and aside from having a good time we had amazing food here. Not only was the food astonishing but the service was excellent. Our server Jeff, was very very polite and knew how to keep a conversation. I’ve been in food service before and I know how stressful it can be and I find it rather soothing when I meet people in the business like Jeff. Such a positive mind and energy. I probably won’t be coming back to Laughlin soon but when I do, I’m definitely coming by to try some more of the food at this place. It’s delicious and I’d recommend my family and friends to come here without hesitation.

We went here with family and friends, no kids finally, to have a nice meal while on vacation, WOW was it a huge disappointment!!! Never again. Next time we will drive to the Saltgrass Steak house. I gave two stars because my husband loved his salmon, we had water the whole time, never an empty glass or an empty bread basket. However, my steak was dry, I ordered the filet, my brother in law had the rib eye and his was at least 1⁄3 just fat, someone else received their meal but had to wait 20 mins for his fries. We waited for over an hour for our food, then 20 mins for the waitress to bring us our check after we asked for it. It was far from fine dining. We will stay at the avi but we will not come back to their steakhouse, sabarro’s in the food court is a better bet, more efficient staff too.

Huz-B and I come here almost every time we riv, and it’s always good; last night was the best meal we’ve had there! We started with escargot. Oh, and wine, cause duh. They are in mornay sauce which is absolutely delicious. Then we had salad and the seafood soup. Their ranch is super yummy and the seafood soup was hearty and delicious. We both got filet mignon. I’m going to say other than the Prime rib at Danny n Kelly’s wedding, it was the best piece of meat I’ve ever eaten. Huz-B added a lobster tail and said it was delicious. We also got garlic mash and Mac n cheese– both the bizz. I just want to add something about a previous experience we had there. I had ordered fish and it just wasn’t good. Sometimes things don’t turn out, and I get that, but I’m not one to complain(other than to huz-B, of course). Anyway, the robot-eared waiter must’ve over heard me and didn’t charge me for the fish. It was totally unexpected and he even sent over the manager with apologies. That’s good service at its best. Btw, I’ve had other fish there though and it was super!

After a hectic day of travelling and ending up at the Avi RV park we decided to try the Moonshadow Grill. Service was exemplary. We ordered off the«2 for $ 50» menu. We got a nice large pour of very decent wine, salad, entrée with potato and vegetable and dessert. My husband had the pork chop and I had a ribeye and they were both quite good. Derek did a great job as our server, a fine young man.

Ordered the new York strip medium. Came medium rare, but I can deal with that. Gave up after spitting out the fourth piece of gristle. Sides were good.

My husband and myself along with my 2 years old daughter went here tonight and at first it was all good I already knew that this place wasn’t good for kids but she usually only wants to eat what we are so problem solved we can share with her. My husband ordered the Shrimp scampi(had to order a side of noddles since it doesn’t come with it) I order the porter house with garlic mash. Took forever for us to get our food and it wasn’t a busy night. Finally when we finally got our good the garlic mash had to garlic what so ever in it it was very bland I had to add salt and pepper to give it some flavor. And the steak was very tuff and also lacked flavor. I little salt and pepper goes a long way! Needles to say it was no where near worth spending 37 dollars on it. Now my husband shrimp scampi was also lacking in flavor, the shrimp was over cooked and the sauce twisted like lemon water. He couldn’t even finish it it was so bad. We waited over 20 mins for a different server from another table to ask is if we wanted the check. While our actual waitress at just kept walking past us. Needless to say I will never go back and won’t be recommending anyone to go there.

Dinner at Moonshadow was very good. We had the early bird dinners, which were more than enough food for each of us, without ordering any additional appetizers or other stuff. The quality of the food is high. Fresh nice Caesar salad for me, and a great spring mix in her salad as well. The main plate was just right my fettucini alfredo was creamy and done just right. Annette spoke highly of her salmon. The desert added on top was almost too much, boy was I full and happy. You want to be patient, as although the Casino operates at top speed, this is a place for a casual dinner with long conversations and looking into each others eyes lovingly over a great meal. I love that kind of meal.

Although I had dined here several times before inside the Avi Resort & Casino, I had not done so for years. So, it seemed fitting to return. Scallops Wrapped in Bacon with Citrus Sauce and garnished with tomato bits and parsley were a somewhat unique and tasty starter. This was followed by Seven Onion Soup with Provolone and Jack Cheeses and deconstructed dark bread in a veal stock, which was good but not great. However, Tomato Basil Soup with basil bits coming through was excellent, and Lobster Bisque was very good. Yes, I sampled three soups in a single meal for the cause of more thorough Unilocal reviewing! A Dinner Salad with large Cherry Tomatoes and thick Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing was good but I would have greatly preferred the more common thinner variety of this type of salad dressing. Thin well-seasoned Ribeye came out smoking and sizzling on a skillet, to the point that drops of fat shot through the air and struck me on an exposed arm. Ouch! The tender steak was accompanied by hot and fat French Fries that were soft on the inside, and Broccoli Spears that were perfectly cooked. The Bearnaise Sauce was drinkable. Cornbread Muffins were great, and the manager got us more upon request after she came around and asked if we would like anything. The restaurant offered a great deal, which we opted to accept: «2 for $ 50». This included a choice of entrees from 5 choices for 2 people, of which one was an 8 oz. Ribeye Steak, together with soup or salad, a dessert, and a glass of house wine. My chosen dessert was assorted fresh Berries with rich Chantilly Cream, while Diane delighted in savoring a slice of juicy Lemon Cake. Service was mostly good. Water glasses were unfilled too long. But then a full carafe was left on the table. A salt shaker was originally on the table, but no pepper shaker. Elevated booth seating was comfortable in this Native American-themed restaurant. 4 – 12 stars overall! .

I just took my family to the Moon shadow grille for thanksgiving. I have severe food allergies so I researched the menu before I got there& found that they had rib eye steak which I could eat. I’m allergic to turkey and fish so I couldn’t eat those dinners. The waiter delivered my meal & disappeared. I realized the steak was mostly fat. There wasn’t any staff around. The waiter didn’t return until the end of the meal. My family had finished their meals. I told the waiter situAtion & he said he would get the manager. Crystal Trescartes, the manager came over. I showed her my steak. She said that the rib eye is a very fatty steak. I just bought a rib eye steak from Smiths & it didn’t have anywhere the fat. Crystal offered me a turkey or fish dinner. I said I couldn’t eat them. Plus my family was done eating. Crystal said she was sorry. I said I was sorry too. Not once did crystal offer me a discount off the $ 100 dinner bill. I’ve eaten there before & it was a great meal. It obviously had gone Down hill

I tried the Moon Shadow about a week ago. The waitress was very friendly and helpful BUT the food was disappointing. I ordered the ribeye steak for $ 37, which the menu represents to come with sautéed mushrooms. There was literally one small mushroom, cut into 4 quarters, on top and the whole thing was covered in a lackluster dark gravy/sauce. I also ordered a Cosmopolitan cocktail that was undrinkable… turns out it was made with vermouth instead of triple sec(or any other orange liqueur). Nice people working the floor, but I would not eat there again :(

Went back to our favorite restaurant last night. Very dissatisfied. New crew and chef. The steaks are no longer prime and were very bad. 3 of us had the rib eye. ½″ thick and tough like leather. No one liked it. The service was horrible with all the people on their first day. However the prices are still up there. The quality has always been too notch here. All has changed. What a bummer. The lobster bisque was the worst as well as the French onion. Everything was microwaved.

So underwhelmed by everything about this place. I had heard good reviews on Moonshadow years ago and I’m not sure if it has gone down hill or the people were drunk and didn’t notice how terrible the food was. 3 of us ordered steaks and the other salmon. Salad was out of a bag and nothing I would even eat at home. The New York steak was a choice steak for $ 37. The steak came with 3 carrots and rice that tasted like it was out of a box! The steak itself was supposed to come with fried onions and did not. It was tough and had no flavor. The other 2 steaks were bone in ribeyes for $ 50 and came with a sauce on top that was terrible and didn’t state in the description on the menu. The salmon was just OKAY… Baked potato was cold and carrots were undercooked. The only good thing about this meal was the company. We did let the server know because we couldn’t lie and say it was good when we all agreed it was terrible. And they did comp 3 of our meals. Good customer service, bad food.

Really gone downhill. To start, we sat for 1−½ hours before getting our meals. It was so long between waiter visits, we forgot what he looked like. When my Filet Mignon is over cooked, and cold, and the manager says it wasn’t and that in the light of the kitchen it «was still a little pink», it’s time to find a new place to eat a nice meal. They also ended the table side spinach salad prep. Not sure why, as our waiter only told us they don’t do that anymore.

I have been here 3 times and every single time I have absolutely loved my food and service. The manager as well as waiters/waitresses are extremely kind and always seem to be in a good upbeat mood. The Moonshadow Grille has moved into my favorite place of all time and you can not go wrong with anything on the menu. It is definitely a hidden gem and wish it more and more success! :)

Outstanding! What a diamond in the rough. Avi potato soup — 5 stars, loaded with bacon and cheese. Lobster tail — 5 stars, cooked perfectly and decent size for the price. Came with drawn butter that was looming over a lit candle to ensure it didn’t get thick. Filet — 5 stars, perfectly cooked medium rare and tasted like butter. Definitely a quality piece of meat. Macaroni and cheese — 5+ stars, large portion that came as the side to the filet. Perfectly cheesy, creamy and rich in flavor, one of the best macs I have had. This place is awesome, old school type of steakhouse.

Date night with my husband. He had the Rib eye steak with the huge baked potato. I had the ribs and the baked three chesses macaroni. The food was delicious and the service was great. Nice atmosphere as well and dress attire is needed.

We came here to kill some time before going to an event at the Avi hotel. We didn’t think we had enough time to eat but we gave it a try ! I’m glad we did because this steakhouse was wonderful! They started us off with some fresh breads that were served on a cutting board. The breads came with a whipped butter. It was delicious! When the waiter came by with our salads. They served it a little different than what I’m used to. Instead of the salads being brought out premade they came out with different toppings that come in these silver bowls. Then you would tell the waiter what you want and they will add it to your plate. I had the steak with mashed potatoes for my entrée. The steak was perfect it melted in your mouth! The mashed potatoes were creamy. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for dessert but before we left the waiter made me a rose out of tin foil. I thought that was really sweet! The waiter was very attentive and went the extra mile to provide excellent customer service! I had such a great experience I wouldn’t mind making a special trip to Laughlin to eat here!

Best dinner on the river! Ask for the twin lobster tails(not on the menu) ***PROS*** * DELICIOUSFOOD * WONDERFULAMBIANCE * CARINGSTAFF * SEATEDIMMEDIATELY(7PM Friday night w/no reservations) ***CONS*** * Waiter disappeared for an hour while serving a large party of 20(but we didn’t need him) * Had to ask for our check(most of which was comped)
