From what I remember, these guys were pretty decent. I bought my first moped from them in 2002; an Italian 2001 Avanti Super Sport. The moped was great, and after about a year of ownership, MTB finally began offering what they«claimed» was the«Avanti Version» of the aftermarket Bi-Turbo exhaust that allowed your moped to reach higher speeds. I had it installed, and after a month, the welding on the muffler gave out and the muffler fell off mid-ride. My mom and I brought it back to MTB, and from what I remember(it’s hard to tell since it was on my mom’s dime), they installed a new exhaust, free of charge. Of course, this exhaust also fell off 8 months later. Which led me to question in hindsight whether or not this aftermarket exhaust they sold us was an authentic Avanti part, or just something they cooked up in their shop and marketed it as such. Another issue, which I was actually impressed with how they handled it, was when I bent the center stand on my moped(thanks to my 16 year old wisdom of trying to look cool by kickstarting it while sitting on the bike), the stand eventually bent under my weight, and I was unable to start the bike(unless you peddle started it, which was damn near impossible from a cold-start). So we brought it back to MTB, and instead of ripping us off by selling us a new center stand, they opted to bend the existing one back to a straight stance. As an adult in today’s day and age, I’d be dammed to come across a car dealer service that is as thrifty and cost-mindful. However, the last interaction I had with them, was about 2 years later, I was a senior, and had a car(so I really wasn’t riding my moped much at this point). But one day my friend and I stopped into MTB just to browse for the hell of it, and I noticed they didn’t have any Avanti models on display; I asked the floor employee why they stopped selling Avanti’s, and he just replies in a gruff, grumpy manner«We have never sold Avantis». Pretty sketchy considering, unless I’m crazy, I definitely bought my Avanti Supersport from them.
