Hunan China

Walked in with a smile and left feeling robbed. After reading another review on here about the lady adding money to the receipt I looked over mine and there was a false charge with no description of $ 3. They also overcharged me for some rice. So a total of $ 8 was charged to my card. When I brought it to their attention they were flustered as if this isn’t the first time they’ve been called out on it! She claimed she changed the amount and gave me a new receipt.
On to the food… Bland tasteless and not worth a dime. It’s a shame that there are no good Chinese restaurants in the area worth trying but this one by far will be your LEAST FAVORITE.
Update: so I get home and check my account to see if I was charged the right amount and I wasn’t!!! It was still the old charge! NO GO HERE! NOT WORTH IT!

Food’s always great, this is a take out and delivery place only. There’s a lady up front that takes orders and she can be a bit abrasive (she yells out the order to the cooks in a very LOUD and rude manner) even when there are people standing in front of her. She’s probably the owner so she could careless about people complaining about her. Otherwise, don’t really pay her any attention as I like to call in my order and pick it up, the less interaction with her the better.

I Ordered the lunch special General Tso’s chicken and it was overcooked or over fried to the point where the skin was tough and chewy and the chicken was just dry and tasteless. I think i’ll be looking elsewhere for my General Tso’s fix in the future.

Service is not consistent. My first visit was great. The next visit I ended up waiting an hour for a carry-​out order while witnessing very rude behavior towards other customers from the woman who works there. I was totally ignored on a subsequent visit when I walked in to place an order. I will now take my money somewhere else.

Speedy delivery. Excellent Driver and customer service greeted with a smile and promised we would love the food as this was our first time ordering it even though there were a couple poor reviews. All of our food was excellent, especially for a chinese delivery. Prices were good. Edamame was just right, the honey sesame chicken was soft, just sweet enough and delicious. Portions very generous, Pork Fried rice came with the meals and was awesome. Way to go. We found our new CHINESE SPOT. Dont listen to the POOR REVIEWS. Try for yourselves

Ordered delivery at 11:15, was told 40 mins but they arrived 20 – 25 mins later. Food was warm and awesome!

The lady (owner) is a crook!!!
Watch when you pay cash or credit. She ALWAYS adds $ 1 or $ 2 to the bill with no explanation
It’s this type of dishonesty that drives away loyal customers

I got carry-​out Singapore Rice Noodle combination w/​Shrimp, pork & chicken meat. Decent amount of meat & tons of noodles. Problem was very little curry spice, it was bland I would say. I keep a bottle of Badia Curry Powder around so I added that to my servings. It was much better after that. Paid $ 10.30 but it’s enough for 2 people.

This is our favorite Chinese delivery place, even better than the places we used to order from when we lived in Silver Spring. I must admit I’ve never been inside the restaurant as we always get delivery, which is incredibly fast and fresh. One of the delivery guys (and older white gentleman) is quite possibly the BEST delivery person I’ve ever encountered. He always asks us how we are doing, is positively thrilled that we are enjoying the food, and even remembers details from previous deliveries (e.g., what we like, asks how our daughter is doing, etc.). Hunan China should do whatever they can to keep this guy on board, he is a gem!
As for the food, we always order the vegetarian rolls and steamed dumplings (so much better than other delivery steamed dumplings, with a more delicate wrapper — not as doughy). The rest of our order typically varies between lo mein (pork but we ask for extra veggies), hunan duck (HUGE portion of duck, I don’t know how they give so much!?), Singapore rice noodles, general tso’s chicken, and a selection of tofu dishes. We are never disappointed.

Not gonna lie, this place is a whole in a wall. Yet their Kung Pao Chicken and Steam Dumplings are so good that I order food here 2−3x a week
Not to mention their fast and fresh food delivery.

I ordered 2 chef specials. One was Shrimp, Beef, Chicken in Hot Garlic Sauce. The other was Tai Hing Beef Hot (deep fried beef mixed vegetables in spicy hot sauce). So lets talk about the Pros: Preparation was quick. The dinner portions are large. But that’s where it ends. The Cons: They Don’t serve lemonade or Ice tea (homemade). BOTH dishes tasted Exactly the same. I had my fiancé try them both but I didn’t tell him which was which. He thought I bought a double portion of the same dinner. Grand total $ 23 for 2 dishes with that definitely weren’t worth it. I would say save your money.

Food is awful and communication is worst! Placed order and received somebody else’s food more than once. No consideration given for the MAJOR inconvenience! I will not order anything else from this restaurant.
Reconsider changing and updating your recipes. The food is terrible!!!

They are getting rather ridiculous. They charge extra for fried rice for the lunch special and $ 2 for a can drink which is $ 1 in the store. Then to top it off.50 charge to use if your order is under $ 10. Come on people. Then the quality of food and service has gone done. They will not be getting no more service from me. I will stick with Mandarin House.

Found this place out of sheer necessity… turns out they have pretty good food. it’s not the best ever but it’s tasty. they give you plenty for two people so you will both be full. it’s kind of a hole in the wall and for take out only. the sesame chicken is my fave but I am willing to try all their dishes.

Rice tasted peppery and customer service is nonexistence.
Also, make sure you get a receipt as the other reviewer said.

Everything I ordered (kung pao tofu, general tso tofu, and veg lo mein) was delicious. Portions are massive will have plenty for another meal. Earlier reviews mentioned a less than pleasant interaction with the cashier but my phone order and pickup was fine. Kitchen area visible from front and from a quick peek seemed clean and organized… will definitely be back.

Language Barrier Makes Ordering Dreadful !!
I understand how this works, but I would be more understanding if they didn’t carry on multiple conversations while trying to take your order over the phone. Having to constantly repeat my order is not fun and trying to talk over the other people working there shouldn’t be this much of an issue. Unfortunately no one there will ever read this but I wish they would. I would be ordering much more often if it wasn’t so painful.
The food is decent, the biggest draw is the location as its next to Maple Lawn. Delivery times are always very quick.

I tried to order delivery. They are located five minutes from my house. He said I was too far and hung up the phone on me mid-​sentence. I wanted to try a new place and I was excited. I guess they don’t want business!

This is a fairly good Chinese take out joint. Nothing spectacular but, it fills the need. If you want your dish spicy tell them when you order. Even though my dish was supposed to be spicy it wasn’t. You really can’t beat the lunch special for $ 6

I drove here all the way from South Laurel because of the reviews I read on Unilocal.
1– This place isn’t in Laurel. It’s in Scaggsville, which is about 5 miles north of Main St. in Laurel.
2– I placed my order and it was ready in less than 10 minutes.
3. All the food that I’ve i have ordered has always been fantastic. I normally get the pot stickers, general tso, shrimp fried rice, or chicken w/​broccoli.
This place has become my go-​to for Chinese in the area.
