Great little place! Tucked away in a plaza in Laurel, their food was fresh and the people were very nice. Large menu, perfect for a quick bite to eat or carry out. We had the chicken tikka masala and the chicken makhani with garlic naan and chili naan. Everything was delicious! The only think we would have changed is the amount of chili peppers in the naan. We were anticipating less and picked a few out, but it had a nice spice level. We can’t wait to go back and are really excited for the leftovers in our fridge for later!

Great local Indian food restaurant. Pick-up or delivery, the food is always hot and delicious. Go for the lunch special for a good deal.

Very good food and an excellent value. Generous portions and very friendly people. The owner and his wife are hard working people who genuinely care about the service and quality. Highly you recommend people try this as it’s much different from the typical lunch dinner.

As a service to the take-out crowd, I’ve posted pics of their Lamb Vindaloo, Chicken Saag, and Vegetable Karahi. Had I been less hungry, I would have taken pics showing these dishes packed up to the brim – mind you, in containers comparably smaller than your standard take-out dish(as evidenced by the size of the spoon relative to the dish). But these three dishes were also priced lower than at most other Indian restaurants in the area so the overall«price to portion» value was quite good… and, most importantly, everything tasted absolutely delicious! The flavors were wonderful and each dish was spiced perfectly(IMHO…and TG apparently doesn’t try to tame their flavors by asking you for your desired level of spiciness… kudos!) Lastly, while TG is located in a strip mall and is a small place with a casual feel, the ambiance was informal yet relaxing and inviting… and their fare was quite memorable!

Terrific food! Would love a little quicker turnaround on carryout orders, but we typically order at a weird time. I wish we could eat there more often.

I’ve been living in the area for just shy of 2 years now and consider myself to be a pretty big connoisseur of Indian food. I have eaten at probably 25 – 30 Indian restaurants around the DMV area and this place just served me the best lamb vindaloo I’ve ever had. I’ll stop short of saying that this restaurant is better than Royal Taj because I’ve only eaten here once, but it’s damn close. The vindaloo was spicy, exceptionally rich, and had a unique smokey flavor to it. The jasmine rice was perfect, the chilli naan was great, and the vegetable samosa, while very good, was comparable to other restaurants around the area. That being said, the vindaloo itself made the entire 20-minute drive worth it. Will certainly be back!

I wanted to like this place. The lunch buffet looked great but the truth is… they only have dark meat… that was a HUGE disappointment. The chicken tikka masala– wasn’t good. It needed more spice and more creamy base. The naan was probably some of the best naan I’ve had.

I’ve been going here for some time now – I came here with my family on the very first day it opened. There’s two reasons I go here: 1) the convenience; it’s nearby to where I live and 2) it’s a quick, casual environment for when I want Indian food without the whole sit-down dining experience. The food is a mixed bag, even though it’s been a while since the place opened. Many entrées are tasty, especially the meat ones like Banjaara Chicken and the chicken tikka. The naans though, are often a bit chewy and take away from the meal. The lunch buffet is arguably my least favorite part of the restaurant, as the entrées provided are often the ones that are cheapest to cook and they’re never really prepared fresh. For a few more dollars, I would ALWAYS go to Royal Taj up north in Columbia for an all you can eat buffet with food three times as good. Solid casual restaurant, but a few too many shortcomings hold it to a 3 star review.

My husband and I are really falling in love with this place for dinner carry out. We’ve had carryout from many other indian restaurants. None has the consistently good quality and flavor of Tandoor Grill. I love the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Saag. My husband goes for the biryani or chili lime chicken(spicy!). The naans and parathas are the best around, no doubt. The servings are generous. We always get two meals out of a serving, and the prices are very reasonable. The fact that it is a family run business is also nice. It is good to see familiar faces when you visit. This is a must-try.

Just started working in the area and was referred to this place by a coworker. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. I got the lunch special which included three meats, soup and two vegetarian sides. I was welcomed in by the owner and she was extremely nice and explained what items were offered for the lunch special as I don’t eat Indian food that much. After eating my fill, I have enough left over for the hubby to have some for dinner! He will miss out on the chicken tikka masala because I devoured it and couldn’t stop eating it!

Without a doubt this restaurant serves the best Indian cuisine in the whole Metropolitan area. My wife and I shared an order of samosas. Our main course was Karahi, a blended sauce with a creamy texture and quite hot but very flavorful. My wife chose Chicken Karahi and I chose the Salmon. Our sides were Channah Masalah, a chick pea with curry dish, and a vegetable dumpling. We have eaten at other good Indian restaurants but I tell you this: you will not find another Indian restaurant that is family owned, and serves fresher and tastier food with a multitude of spices that are exquisitely pure Indian then the tandoor grill. PS: the Naan bread melts in your mouth! Tell them Rick sends his regards.

Came in here for lunch with the family and was pleasantly surprised by the LARGE portions in my opinion. My brother on the other hand seemed to think it was«normal». The lunch special is a great deal though and all the food was delicious and not too oily like some indian restaurants tend to be. You get to choose 2 vegetarian sides and 3 types of chicken. As someone that loves sampling multiple dishes I really liked that you could try so many different options! I will say I didn’t find it very spicy so if you like your food HOT then you may be disappointed. The owner was a very nice woman and she was very welcoming. Will keep this place in mind if I want to grab a quick lunch. The ambiance is very casual(you order at the counter and then pay and eat at tables) I can see it being great for takeout.

I think the food here is excellent when fresh. The kababs are tasty and the chapli burgers are great. The indian food is spicy and tasty and the lunch buffet has plenty of options to choose from. My complaint isn’t with the food as much as it is with the cost. I just feel the restaurant is a little pricier than it probably should be. I was disappointed to find that when I ordered fries I received 5 total fries and was charged nearly $ 4. I mean those fries better have tasted like gold! They were normal potato wedges and definitely not worth the price. I hate to be such a stickler over potato wedges, but feeling shorted is not a good feeling.

She stayed late to feed us — myself, the hubby, kid and my mom. Okay, so it was 30 minutes to closing and with that being said, you would think we’d be fed, but that’s not always the case. Many restaurateurs, in my experience, are closing: mopping the floor, restocking, filling salt/pepper shakers, going through their register and just sitting, waiting for that 30 min mark to happen, so that they can close their doors. We were greeted and happily at that, by a beautiful woman, with long dark hair. She was patient, in that she explained some menu items to us. None of us felt rushed. Our food arrived quickly and piping hot. The chicken tikka masala was heaven. My mom ate it as if it was the best soup she’d ever had. She refused to eat it with her basmati and the naan. The hubby ordered the same. That’s all he ever orders. Bless his soul, he nearly finished it and let me tell you; the portions are enough for a second meal. My child had the kofta and he placed his hands over it, so I couldn’t have any — but, I snuck a bite when he wasn’t looking. I had the sheekabob with chicken and lamb(both tender and flavorful), served with a sauced up veg dumpling curry and small salad. The food is so good here, you keep eating, even when your belly screams, «overload!» We opted to order their naan — the best around! Pillowy and chewy, great for dipping and scooping up all that wonderful sauce. The meal ended up being a bit pricey, but we were informed of their lunch specials — so, with that in mind, along with the delicious food and gracious host; we’ll definitely be back.

I’ve been coming here for nearly a year now and figured it was time to make a review. The food here is all delicious and made in-kitchen. They make their own paneer, sauces, dressings, dough, and it shows in the taste of the food. I’ve had multiple extended conversations with the couple that own the restaurant about their food sourcing(no sysco here folks) and use of natural whole ingredients. They have always been very open and engaged about their recipes and know exactly what is in each dish. It’s always a pleasure to find a place like this where you can enjoy not only the food itself but the interaction with the owners. My regular weekly dish is a combination of chicken banjara and tandoori chicken with paneer tikka kabobs as my protein kick after leaving the gym. My indulgence is the chicken tikka masala which is absolutely delicious. Unlike many other local Indian restaurants the masala is thick and creamy rather than thin and oily. Their naan, plain or stuffed, is perfect with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and chewiness inside. I would also highly recommend the chicken meatball wrap which has a wonderful blend of flavors.

Never have I had such GREATINDIANFOOD! I’ve been so several Indian restaurants around the area and none can compare to Tandoor Grill. The service, food, ambience and people there surpass any other Indian establishment by FAR! The best dish is there Chicken Tikka Massala. I’ve had it at other places and none compare to here!

Just came here with my family for the first time. Terrible attitude from who I believe was the owner. How dare I ask questions about the menu. I never write bad reviews, but this one warrants one. I would never recommend this establishment to ANYONE! Terrible service, food looked and smelled disgusting. The atmosphere was cheap and uninviting… Guess that’s why almost every seat was empty on a Friday evening. This place gets negative stars from me. –Brian

The cashier was so sweet! I ordered my food and chai latte. The chai was delicious :-) My food came out about 15minutes later. Since it was take out, I got to apartment thinking that my food would be cold. It wasn’t! The Palak paneer was perfect! I asked for mild, and it still had a nice kick. The flavors weren’t overpowering, but blended nicely. I adored the vegetarian samosas. They were crispy on the outside and the chickpeas had a nice taste. The spices weren’t too powerful, but just right. It was my favorite. I am surely going to return. I feel like I have found a solid Indian restaurant in Laurel.
