This place is terrible. There’s hardly anything in stock, it’s all at outdoor temperature(80 degrees today) or barely cooler if it’s in the fridge, and it’s expensive. How do they stay in business?

I suspect the high level of service I received was due to the fact that I was looking for sake. The people were very nice when I was lurking the aisle in my uni bomber costume on Halloween night(read sweatsuit after cleaning all day and needing a drink and a bite). Anyway, I got Firefly sweet tea which I plan to top off my cup with at my next in law dinner. Pear absolut and my sake. Well the guy was really offended I was going to make a cucumber sakitini and proceeded to give very detailed warming instructions. «Sake good hot, no cold, cold is bad, only hot.» once I swore to drink it hot I was allowed to go. Everything was overpriced, but when you are in need and don’t feel like running up 2 exits to Corridor Fine Wines, you will spend the extra 3 bucks. Besides I had to go get my Osaka order. Cucumber Saketini a/la Stickyrice Peel some cucumber with veggie peeler set aside. Heat some sugar and water to make a simple syrup in the microwave, after done muddle in cuke shavings. Pour as much sake as you want in a shaker add juice of ½ a fresh lime, add cuke syrup with shreds, fill with ice shake and strain into martini glass. Enjoy the unlikely deliciousness. PS Please somebody make a Unilocal page for my Intervention as I am sure that I should not refer to it as «my» sake.

So I stopped by Tony’s Liquors on the way to a Mary Kay party last weekend on a quest for wine. If I was going to have to sit through hours of «pampering» and guilt purchases, I figured we might as well get a little festive! I pretty much stopped by Tony’s because its the first Wine/Liquor/Beer store that I saw once I hopped off the Baltimore-Washington Parkway onto Laurel-Bowie Road. So, I walk into a fairly standard store — decent selection of wine, liquor and beer. The people working there were very pleasant and helpful and the store has a lot of cold fridge space(score!) so leaving with cold beer, wine, soda etc is a solid option. But the REAL reason why I felt a need to Unilocal about Tony’s Liquors is because of what I saw as I approached check out. TONY’S SELLSXXLPLAINBLACKANDPLAINWHITETEES!!! And they are right next to the Cheetos. Only in PG, baby. Only in PG! So maybe, just maybe if you get some Cheetos’ cheese on your fresh white tee… you can just buy another one right then and there! And now I shall leave you with the poetic overtures of Dem Franchize Boys — «White Tee» I slang in my white tee/I bang in my white tee All in the club spitting game in my white tee I bling in my white tee/Serve feigns in my white tee F%$& a throwback I look clean in my white tee
