I couldn’t disagree more(no disrespect to the other commenters). They go above and beyond. I asked about a specific type of whiskey out of utah and gin out of dc. He got them both stocked for me, all four flavors of each and no obligation to buy. I price shop too(who doesn’t), way below market on these(about $ 10 below the places I used to go). Really nice shop, love the improvements, and the attention to detail. Thanks guys!!!

Laurel isn’t lacking in terms of liquor stores, but Montpelier Liquors is far and away the best of the bunch. Inside, the store is kept very clean and well-lit. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the store manager that works there has been great to me, as well. I love everything about this liquor store. Super reasonable prices coupled with a solid selection and fantastic customer service. If only all liquor stores were like this, I’d die a happy man … quite possibly from alcoholism. Montpelier Liquors has become my go-to for all liquor on the go, be it small sample sizes to last minute wines or emergency spirit runs. Their inventory is so well stocked that I haven’t had any issues with popular items running out. There is one knock though, the independent brands aren’t typically found here so call ahead of time to confirm. Their selection of beer and wine is fantastic. Incredible selection of craft beer. They carry all top brands in hard liquor. There are also some interesting tastings here most fridays — everything from a random wine maker to some sips from a new line of rum. The service has been nothing short of outstanding. They’ll go out of their way to help folks find a bottle, make recommendations. and greet people as they come in and leave the store. I end up entering with a grin and leaving with a smile.

They’re OK as a neighborhood liquor store, but their prices are a bit high, and the wine selection is a bit weak. If you are looking for liquor, it’s a good choice. If you’re looking for wine, go the extra 0.9 miles to IM Wine, on the other side of Maple Lawn.

I always pop into to liquor stores in the boondocks hoping that they will potentially be the sole distributors of some nectar of the gods hitherto unknown to me, or perhaps that a vacant clerk with a beauty-booger has mispriced the expensive whiskey, or that i might be surprised with something new and different. I needed rum and they had a good selection here — also a few absinthes, limoncellos and a large port selection in addition to the usual suspects of wine and beer. A large quantity of fun-size liquors at the counter which makes me question what is going on in Laurel. I think we should be told.
