The community-​minded owner-​operator has stocked this shop with locally-​sourced and created merchandise, from beautiful clothing to handcrafted, unique surfboards, to stunning pieces of art from local artists. He’s curated this collection of items in a shop that exudes cool without being exclusionary.
If you’re looking for mass-​produced garbage, keep walking. If you’re looking for a surf shop where the owner will walk you through buying a board that will suit you and will not sell you a board that will end up gathering dust because you’ll find it unusable, where he will forgo an immediate profit in order to cultivate a relationship for life with a customer, NJ Surf Show should be your first stop if you’re looking for a new board.
I’m not a surfer, but I do appreciate a store where I can find unique, high-​quality gear and where I can find a piece of incredible art to put on my wall. I also appreciate a store where the owner is an expert in his field and where said owner shares his expertise, not necessarily to make the cash register ring, but to ensure that when you do open your wallet, you’ll walk out satisfied and will want to return for more.
