I hired him to inspect a property based on a brief interview and all the top reviews on Unilocal.I’m glad I did.
It took two hours to inspect the house we intended to buy, and then he gave us a complete presentation (including pictures) to us and our RE agent on-​site. His written reports were in our email within another couple of hours.
He is competent, thorough, and a really nice guy to deal with. I can’t recommend Don Porter highly enough.

Hands down, Best decision we made was having Don with Porterhouse home Inspections come and inspect our new home. He was extremely thorough in his review/​findings and really took the time to walk us through everything. Being first time homebuyers, he really made us feel confident with our new purchase!

Don did our home inspection this afternoon and we were impressed with his knowledge, but what impressed us most is how thorough Don was when he walked us through his report. He made suggestions of what items needed to be addressed right away and what could wait. He went on to explain what routine maintenance would be needed. Don was very patient and clear with his answers when we had questions and when we left, my husband and I were confident in our choice of homes and home inspectors!

This guy is fantastic. We just had our home inspection yesterday and Don was extremely thorough, told us what would be big issues (thankfully nothing) and which were minor. He walked us through the numerous pictures he took and explained everything in great detail. He offered to go back through the house to look at anything specific we wanted to look at. He answered our few questions and even offered to come back to the house when/​if we close to tighten up a couple of loose items he noticed during the inspection! Then we talked hiking and mountain biking. If you need an inspection, do yourself a favor and call Don. And what a great name for his business… told him it made me think of a nice big steak.

Don was so knowledgable, patient and kind. He gave me every little detail that even showed me where the issues were and gave me his personal advice and past experiences with each item. Most of all I felt like I was in his best interest at all times and not my realtor who referred him. Hands down great man, if the owner of the house didn’t come back so soon I prob would still be chatting with the man. You want this man to inspect your home!!! Thanks Don.

Don is a very smart guy and even impressed my father who has been in the construction industry for 40 years. My wife and I were very happy with how detailed the review was. Pictures, a good explanation, and copies of the report were distributed so all parties involved. Don would take the time to explain how a part in a pool pump works or how the windows were classified. Very helpful and I highly recommend him.

Very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and helpful. Don has been our inspector twice and has given very detailed reports and explained every aspect to us so that we and realtor could decide which items needed to be acted upon. All parties were provided with a copy of the inspection report which includes pictures, a description, and what items need to be fixed (listed by priority.) So helpful especially for first time home buyers!
