Great local park, nestled in a lawndale neighborhood. Never really noticed it, until we walked by. Has two enhances, one on 163rd Street & another on the street over(not sure what the street is, sorry)

Cute, clean local park… blink and you miss it. Terrific for an afternoon stroll for fresh air or just to get out of the house. Easy to find, great for a break away from work and nice to enjoy a light lunch. I work from home so it’s nice to get away and still be close enough to my home office.

Very nice neighborhood park. I enjoy coming here to play with my nieces. Its always very clean, friendly parents always keeping their eyes open for teenagers. Love this park but I hate the hoodlums that aleays come to smoke or do any illegal activities here. I’ve had to call the police a couple Times because of the smell of Marijuana coming from their group of high school drop outs.

this little park is such a great escape. relatively close to everthing. great space and kids love this place. lots of tables and places to sit, nice for picnics and playdates. its just off of hawthorne blvd, so there isnt a whole lot of traffic, its quiet and tranquil. my favorite park in the city.

This is a BEAUTIFUL park! Even though it’s small, it is close by and my son loves it. It’s very clean. It would get 5 stars, but around 3PM some kids from the high school next to it will hang out there and make out and do what teenagers do… it’s annoying when my son wants to climb the rock and there are 3 couples literally licking each other.

A great community organization called«From lot To Spot» has turned what used to be a vacant lot into a great playground and gathering area for all ages. I was lucky enough to attend the opening day on February 12, 2011. I think this is a great location for a park. There is a school nearby and it’s in a neighborhood that struck me as being family oriented. The playground area is furnished with a soft squishy base that is just tons of fun to jump on as well as keep the lil ‘uns safe. The play structure was pretty big and very interactive. complete with these awesome tube things you could speak into and someone 10 feet away listening to the other end of the tube could hear you(I’m easily amused). There was also a giant rock(giant for little kids) in the middle of a sand pit made for climbing. It’s like mini bouldering! There are lots of grassy mini hills and several picnic benches, great for hosting outdoor birthday parties or just getting out of the house. Opening day featured outdoor fitness classes hosted by CrossFit Intrepid. They did a really amazing job of showing the children examples of how they could use the park to stay active with mini workouts geared for children and adults. There was also a Filipino food truck vendor that stopped by and a raffle. It was a good day. The park also features a mural of the history of Lawndale which was painted by the local children and artist. There are bathrooms here which is really nice. This place is so super amazing. I hope that it remains well maintained and used! Go and check it out for yourself, take the kids and have fun! it’s organizations like this that make communities strong and healthy!
