Ordered for lunch. Called for work and was assured the food would be available on time. Went to pick up the good and the order had never been put in. So waited another 30 min. I can’t remember the names of the items but the grilled cheese with avocado, bacon, and grilled onions was very good. The appetizer was supposed to be «tri-colored» chips with homemade salsa and sour cream. The chips were all white and not too tasty, with a very runny sour cream and a so-so salsa. Many things on the menu sounded good, but I won’t chance ordering during lunch again and will definitely ask if what’s being served is exactly as written on the menu.

First went to the one in Marlboro and really loved the fresh salads. Opened one in Lawrenceville and is just as good. Great dishes and very fresh. Love going there

Gorgeous brunch place reminiscent of the jersey shore! Came on a weekday afternoon to «the best brunch chain in jersey,» according to my friend. There was a long line so had to wait for 30 min. Service was great and, after reviewing its extensive menu, I ended up getting the vegetable quinoa ragout for $ 9.45 on the lunch SS16 menu. Delicious! Eggs were thick and creamy, amazing texture especially when mixed into the quinoa. Veggies did not include the typical salad mix, aka tons of lettuce, but had peppers, mushrooms, artichoke, and onions in tomato sauce. Tasty and healthy food in the best ambience– and you can sit outside!

Very nice resturant with good quality food, staff needs some more training as they sometimes seemed too interested in talking among themselves

Sad sad day at turning point princeton today. Checked in and was seated within twenty minutes which was good. That was the last positive from our visit. As there were only two of us seated up front you would believe that their ability to deliver would be good. Nope — placed order with Hank nice guy and our order fell in to the abyss. Checked with Hank after 25 minutes.(this is breakfast). And he was going to hurry them up. FAIL another 10 minutes no food no manager nothing. Step to counter to discuss w manager and he can’t be found.(Sad). Wait for him and like talking to play dough. Head bobbed but nothing other thank He will look into it. The fact he wasn’t aware off floor activities showed lack of experience. Not sure I will return to Princeton turning point any time soon. Very unhappy

Here’s the thing with the Turning Point: If you’re into eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles and french toast, then you’ll likely be contented. The bulk of their breakfast menu is made up of variations on these breakfast standards. They’ve a few omelets, you can get some a la cart fried eggs and grits or a few skillet egg dishes and you’ve got a kind of odd take on a huevos ranchero, but the place doesn’t really delve much deeper into the breakfast genre. I see lots of people getting those waffles, french toasts or pancakes covered with piled on fruits and nuts with drizzle of sauce, and they chow like pretty happy campers, but I’ve never been in to that. If I’m having fruit with my pancake, I like it in the pancake, not on top of it. I know – I’m finicky like that. My wife is nuts for the lobster benedict(which is why we’ve been there more than a couple of times). I had a chicken and waffle special the other day, and the chicken was fried chicken tenders with a small ladle of chorizo gravy on top. Chicken tenders? Really? The waffle itself was baked(weird?), blah and nothing special. I had to ask for syrup to give it some flavor. I don’t know if that’s their standard waffle, but if it is, no thank you. The huevos ranchero is filling, but it’s not your madre’s huevos ranchero. In a tortilla bowl(my tortilla was a little stale around the edges), it had a nice filling, and was much healthier than a normal ranchero, but when I order a huevos ranchero, I want it to my mother’s huevos ranchero. If anyone knows where you can get an old school huevos ranchero for breakfast in the Trenton area, please let me know. Really. The Wilbur skillet was good and filling, but not exceptional or exceptionally different from something you can get in any other diner or can make at home, and I’m not a big fan of eating something for breakfast that I can easily make at home with ingredients that I usually have on hand. One big plus is that they make a pretty mean chocolate shake, which might not seem like something you’d actually want as a breakfast item, but that’s only if you’ve never had one for breakfast. Get a chocolate shake for breakfast. You can thank me later. On the whole, the Turning Point is a probably a good place for the average person to have breakfast. It’s clean, well staffed and carries a menu that the average American would be pretty happy to have. It’s just not my type of place. In a word, it’s «Vanilla». Not my favorite flavor.

It would be a perfect 5 stars if they served mimosas/Bloody Mary’s/bellinis! Ugh it should really be a 4.5 out of 5 because everything else was just fabulous. Who knew a breakfast/brunch menu could have such a great selection, yet simplistic enough that every dish is refined. There were a ton of coffee options, along with French press and smoothie options as well. I’m boring… Single or double shot of espresso and I’m happy. Food was great, very quick. Service was extremely attentive and friendly. This place has an inviting and cozy atmosphere. It feels like you’re eating in the great room of your rich aunts shore house. I will be back!

Oh, this place is amazing! I am originally from Somerset and I was looking for a place down here that was similar to Le Peep in Edison. Boy, did I find it! Me and my husband went this afternoon, part of our celebration for our anniversary. As soon as we came in, our waiter asked if it was our first visit and welcomed us there then poured our glasses of water, which I thought was a nice touch. My husband had the gourmet coffee, which he said was one of the best house blends he has had at any restaurant. I had the Smore’s hot chocolate, a delicious concoction with a generous amount of whipped cream, toasted marshmallow syrup and crushed graham crackers — it was heavenly! Then came our meals — we both got the Basic Skillet with bacon, mine with an over easy egg and his with scrambled eggs. This was served with two toasted, buttered English muffins and a cup of fresh fruit. Everything was scrumptious, we both completely cleaned our skillets. The inside of the restaurant has a charming aesthetic that includes a full breakfast bar where they make their heavenly hot chocolates, espressos and other hot drinks. You can also eat at the bar if you so choose or outside on their patio. If you choose to eat inside like we did, you will be greeted with a wide open space and a high ceiling where the light just pours in. There’s a television by the bar and a cool art deco on the wall that details all the locations of Turning Point. I cannot recommend this place enough. Like any brunch restaurant, they also serve lunch as well as a few breakfast appetizers. The food was fresh and of high quality. We will be returning soon and often.

This place is a gem. I wish I could have breakfast there every single day. The hubby and I have been there twice, both on Sunday mornings before the church crowd. I’d imagine that they must get really busy later but if you hit them by 9 am on Sunday you can get right in. The service is good, a great value and lots of fun, tasty choices.

I wish I was able to give this place a 4.5÷5 because the place gave me a great impression but it still falls a little short of a perfect 5. My girlfriend and I came here for the first time when we wanted to get brunch and we were tired with the local places we frequently go to eat. The inside is a clean and feels great, but we decided to sit outside because it was a very nice day. We ordered the Tuscany Omelet and Scrambled Eggs with a Peach Ice Tea. The Food was not extraordinary but don’t get me wrong, it was still delicious. The one thing that made this place different from other breakfast stops was the english muffin. I would definitely come back to this place and give other dishes a try because I feel that my review would not be just by only trying these limited dishes. ~ Stanley

On our way to NYC from Philly my friends and I chose this place to eat breakfast at since it was right off the freeway. As soon as you enter you realize how big this place is. It was quite packed but we got seated right away and our server Anthony attended to us promptly as well. He was a pleasure to talk to and was engaging throughout the whole dining experience. I started off with the s’mores hot chocolate and it was rich, creamy and delicious! Then for my entrée I decided to get the lobster eggs benedict which came with huge chunks of lobster meat, tomatoes, smoked bacon and this amazing hollandaise sauce. And since I have this weird obsession with the need of mushrooms in all my dishes I decided to get that as an add on for my benedicts – which they didn’t charge me for. I appreciated that since most places charge for add ons. My plate also came with a side of potatoes that were seasoned well and tasted yummy! It was the perfect compliment to my eggs benedict and I made it a point to force myself to eat it all because I could not get myself to waste something this delicious. Seriously everything was on point!

Been there twice for brunch. Service is really slow. I don’t think that they have enough personnel because some empty tables stay unattended for 15 minutes while 15 people are waiting for a table. The first time they forgot about my side order and I was done by the time it got to the table. The second time a waitress dropped a sticky knife on my purse and said she’d be right back with napkins. and didn’t. Food is ok. Portions are small compared to your average diner. The country potatoes are just average, but the cornbread French Toast is tasty — just a pretty small serving. Overall it’s pretty expensive for what you get. The coffee is fantastic though. So average experience for me so far.

One of the better brunch options in the area. My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and was seated within 20 minutes. We really enjoyed the bright dining room and the extensive menu. They even have free coffee and cereal while you wait for a seat, which is a definite plus. I had the Wilbur Skillet and my boyfriend had an omelette. We both enjoyed our food. Although the service could be slow at times due to volume, we were satisfied with our experience. Would be returning.

3.25 to be exact. Looking for some breakfast/brunch? Turning Point will be able to help you out! Be expected to wait during peak hours though, my friends and I had to wait around 30 to 45 minutes before we all sat down. What I like here is that they have a variety of drinks to select from, ice drinks, hot drinks, coffee, shakes, fresh juices, and etc. You definitely should be able to get a drink that will complement your meal. I was a little hungry today, so I decided to get a sandwich, the Roadhouse Stack. This is a a double stacked grilled cheese that has jack and cheddar cheeses with bacon, onions, and avocado. This sandwich got me pretty full and it sufficiently satisfied me. It was not a sandwich that particularly wow’d me though. I thought the bacon in it could have been prepared better. One thing I notice too, when the servers go into the kitchen, I feel the door for the kitchen makes it so they could possibly collide with each other when entering/exiting it. My friends and I sat near the kitchen and I saw this almost happen a bunch of times. Look into that!

Second time here. Horrible experience. 10 minutes for beverages. My food was sent back twice. Eggs over cooked and water in my plate. My cousin waited 30 mnts for an omelette after everyone got their food. Will never come back

I’ve been wanting to try this place out since I noticed it a few months back. My biggest problem is the location. Located in the Mercer Mall causes many congestion problems both with navigating through the parking lot as well as parking. I decided to try out the Turkey chili while my wife got the chocolate chip pancakes. I was somewhat disappointed with the chili, although the pancakes were very good. The Chili was almost a soup as it was very thin like a chili flavored broth with turkey, corn etc inside. The flavor was kinda bland for a chili, certainly no heat. The Pancakes however, they were bursting with flavor. They also included cut strawberries, coolwhip and a strawberry type sauce. I would come back, although I will probably stick to the breakfast menu. The overall size inside it pretty small so there is a good chance that on weekends there will be a long wait.

Fresh food, good coffee, well sized meals, and decent prices. Tasty skillets! I came here twice so far. The first time was OK but not stellar. To be fair it was during a weekend rush with a 45 minute wait for two. We got the corn bread French toast which was good but small as well as the pesto infusion skillet which again, just OK. Round two was a weekday morning and the place was far less crowded. We got the standard skillet and the Popeyes skillet with their seasonal French press. This time around it was amazing! Prices are pretty standard compared to a full omelette at a diner. I would put this at the top of the list now for breakfast places in the area. Looking forward to venturing into their lunch menu next time!

Cute place in Princeton for delicious brunch! Took my family there on Thanksgiving weekend. Everyone raved about their meals including me! Wilbur Skillet was great, classic hot chocolate was big and worth every calorie, french toast looked amazing, Cuban sandwich also looked delicious. This place closes early(3pm) so get there early. Plenty of parking in the shopping center.

Brunch… The most important meal of the weekend. There’s not a huge amount of good brunch places in Central Jersey, so I was pretty eager to try this place. Located in Mercer mall, Turning Point is a breath of fresh air from the crappy diners you’d usually find in a strip mall. It’s newer, modern and they have a pretty progressive menu. The line on a Sunday is pretty long, but thankfully it moves pretty fast. I had the banana foster waffle that came topped with rum sauce. I also had a side of ham. The waffle was good, but I’ve certain had better. It was also luke warm and the rum sauce was a little on the thick side, though it was a nice addition. The service was truly excellent. I was a bit of an annoying customer in terms of not knowing what I wanted, but the waitress did an excellent job helping out. All the servers actually seemed to show really good service from I saw at other tables. This place is definitely a good option from a brunch/breakfast standpoint. It’s definitely worth trying other things on the menu as well, which I will be doing.

On the outside you are in the concrete and macadam fields of the Mercer Mall. Step inside and you are in something akin to an F. Scott Fitzgerald novel. Bright white walls. Period pieces. Glass and mirrors. Marble bar. Polite servers with every hair in place. Could easily be summer in Southampton at Gatsby’s mansion. The coffee offers several exotic choices. All you want. The breakfast menu provides unconventional twists to traditional dishes. From Crunchy Monkey Pancakes, to Bananas Forster Waffles(Bananas & Dark Sweet Rum), to OMG French Toast(Pumpkin Cinnamon Mascarpone), the options are as entertaining as the grub that reaches your table. I went with the Grand French(Vanilla, Brown Sugar, Fresh Cream, Cinnamon and Orange), just to keep it relatively simple. It arrived at my bar stool in a large white plate, small cup of butter and deeper dish of syrup on the side. The taste was good, and the thickness of the bread was really more than I could manage. The coffee kept flowing and I was even given the balance of my pot to take away. Definitely a superior take on breakfast, and the price reflected that. Everything is a factor more expensive than your nearby diner, but the quality is a fair exchange. If there was any weakness in the experience it was on the margins. The syrup did not taste like maple, which would have been a very nice finishing touch. A short stack alternative would also make sense for some, and it is probably available with the asking. Otherwise, Turning Point is a step above most café/luncheonette emporiums in the area. The service is superior and engaging. The excellent coffee is the caliber of most coffee houses that don’t have the kitchen options. It is definitely a good meeting place, and is being used as such. A few minor flourishes and Turning Point could easily reach 5 Star status.
