The pancakes were nice but the waitresses were not I got sat down at the bar was very uncomfortable I had to wait for a long time for somebody to bring me something and then when I asked for a clean menu they gave me an attitude so I don’t know you could go in the food is good but the staff is not

The food is good but service is very slow! Over 30 minutes to get our food and a coffee refill. The place was half empty at lunch too. The smoked salmon omelette is to die for though, and their pancakes are some of the best I’ve had in the area.

Great place, great foods for breakfast. This place seemed to be packed and super busy whenever I came by. So although service was friendly, but we felt rush dining in … staff was so attentive that she kept asking if we needed anything else, and then there were customer lines staring at us eating … making me feel like if I don’t swallow my food within my fourth bites, they’d jump and choke me … The décor is pretty cool too. At the entrance, they have this wood wall where you can carve writings on it. I think it’s a really cool, it’s a calming activities to distract hunger while waiting to be seated so you don’t stare at the other customers eating, and don’t drool over the smell of bacon and pancake! lols … Anyway, we’ve had their blueberry pancake, fresh berry pancakes, crepes with fresh fruits, eggs benedict, omelet side of bacon, and fresh fruits medley. Also had tried their sweet potato hash brown. it’s delicious. I think of them as the cleaner, fresher and healthier version of Ihop. And of course, they come with higher prices. But overall, it’s a great spot for a good breakfast and brunch. But I won’t go in too often as I need to save some dollar for my dinners!

Good food when you eat in and it’s not a holiday! We ordered online for Mother’s Day. Waffles, pancakes, French toast, sausage, eggs. We didn’t wanna cook on Mother’s Day so we ordered out. Our order was supposed to be ready by 1:06PM. It was a good 15 minutes of me just standing there amongst a small group of people putting their names on the wait list trying to get the maitre de’s attention. When he finally looked at me and I told him I had an online order to pick up he told me it would still be another 20 minutes even though it was 2 minutes until our food was supposed to be ready according to the website. Sure enough I had to wait another 20 minutes when it wasn’t even that busy. He kept telling people it was a 5 – 10 minute wait to be seated yet I had to wait over half an hour just for my order that was supposed to be ready by a certain time. When I got the food home my mom said her eggs were not very dry like she ordered, instead needed to be cooked a lot more. The waffles were very chewy as if they’d been sitting while the other food had been cooking. The sausage patties were a greasy mess. The pancakes were limp. The only highlight was the French toast which was perfectly cooked and topped with tons of fresh fruit. We had also mentioned in the notes not to include syrup… not only was syrup included but it leaked in the bag. Thankfully it was in a bag by itself so it didn’t completely ruin the food. I don’t know that I’ll ever order out again after this experience!

Nice atmosphere for breakfast, even has outside seating. Started out with some pancakes that we shared at the table and they were amazing. Had the corn, oreo and smores — all so good. We pretty much all got omelettes and I must say they were stuffed to the max. Service was great, only thing I wish was better was the coffee.

When I walked into the restaurant I was greeted right away by Rita! She offered to sit me at a booth or a table! I opted to sit at the bar on one of there stools! Rita is very pleasant and she asked right away what I wanted as a beverage! She brought me over a Kraft of water! The Kraft was not very clean to be honest! I ordered there lemonade! It is pretty good! They do have it seems 3 different types of juice beverages and they carry Coke products here! I will agree with previous comments about the bar stools they are very uncomfortable! I ordered the French toast with a side of bacon! I did take photos and post them on here food was very tasty the French toast was not over bearing with the cinnamon taste! Bacon is very well done some and others over cooked for my tasting! There is only one other customer in here at about 8:00 am! The restaurant is very clean I will say that maybe this was an isolated incident with the Kraft that had the water! Rita was very apologetic about it! She was the only server when I arrived! Another came in about 7:45 am! Service from her is great very attentive to the customer I would recommend asking for her as a server! Food is good here it seems! I will only be able to give the restaurant 4 stars due to the dirty Kraft cause it was my first thing I got to see! They do server alcohol here and they to have an expresso machine as I posted in a photo too! They play oldies in the music here what is a nice relaxing pace to eat breakfast here! They do not give military discount here sorry all active duty and vets to say that! I will try another time to see if it was just a one time incident with the Kraft so keep looking back on my reviews!

Rude staff + average food = not worth your trouble! Save yourself from a long wait and a ruined brunch, head to any *other* diner for a pleasant experience. After being seated after a wait, our server aka cattle herder proceeded to literally rush us through the meal from ordering to clearing out our table. The server never once checked how our meal was and we had to flag a different staff to even get drinks refilled. We had been seated less than an hr, when the server barked verbatim, if you guys don’t mind, I have a really long wait and really need this table. W-O-W. If you do end up stuck here, here’s what we got: Pancake sampler: Pecan(staff messed up our order — should’ve been apricot pecan): chock-full of pecans — perfect for the nut lover Cranberry walnut: good crunch from the walnuts and a pop of sweetness from cranberries Buckwheat: hearty Smoked salmon omelet(lox, capers, grilled onions, avo, cream cheese): ordered mine w/o cream cheese, still found the avo a bit odd in the mix, albeit tasty on its own. Solid smoked salmon, plenty of capers. Friends ordered smoked salmon benny and corned beef hash, which they enjoyed.

I should’ve taken the advice of my fellow Unilocalers. The food is only decent and the service is not great. I had the special omelet but I asked to substitute spicy peppers for the regular.(Apparently, this costs am additional $ 3 because I wasn’t clear that I wanted regular peppers«substituted».) The eggs were overcooked, the contents oily and just too much. The buttermilk pancakes that I got with it was good, nothing special. The waitress came back once just after we received the food to make sure we got everything. But she never came back. Instead she chose to stand by the cash register chatting with others instead of checking to see if I wanted more coffee, which I did. Won’t be going back.

It never disappoints! The food looks and tastes great. My favorite is the Pollo Panini, it does have a lot of pesto so you may want to ask for it on the side. The salad that comes on the side is great and the dressing is delicious! Their fries are so addicting, you keep eating them even after you tell yourself you’re done. Their bacon tomato grilled cheese is also very good. The service is very friendly and Rita is amazing and the best waitress! You can tell she cares about delivering a nice dining experience.

This is the suburban version of P.J.‘s Pancake House on Nassau Street in Princeton. Quaint and cozy with a bar. Outside seating when weather permits. Like the parent P.J.‘s, there is a breakfast menu featuring pancakes and other delicious breakfast items including omelets. They are a pasta bar also after breakfast hours. Be prepared there is usually a line in the weekends, just like the restaurant on Nassau Street. I have always enjoyed their potato pancakes and three-fer. I always love a restaurant where the staff act like artists pouring their heart and sole into your enjoyment. I get the feeling from Rita and the other folks here that this is much more than a pay check to them.

This place was packed at 11 a.m. on a Sunday! We sat at these teeny stools at the bar– fit for a toddler. Tip: Turn the stool diagonal, makes for more comfortable sitting and positions the knees out so that they are not hitting the bar wall quite as easily. Food and service was delicious! I tried 3 different pancakes: 1. Banana Pecan– Mind blowing 2. Cranberry Walnut– wonderful 3. Raspberry– good, not great. Would not order again, but the raspberries WERE fresh. Hash browns were also amazing! They will not, however, cook an egg sunny side up. Still, fabulous enough for 5 Unilocal stars.

A first visit to this PJ’s in West Windsor, although I have sampled the goods at the Nassau Street location on many occasions. This place is modern and much more attractive than the rather past its prime locale in Princeton. Still, I avoid using the term, «comfortable,» because the stools at the small counter are among the worst seats I have planted my cheeks on in decades, and the sharp edges of the paneling used under the counter a perplexing choice for customer’s knees. True, the French Toast was very good, and the Coffee strong and flowing. The use of a sugar and cinnamon dusting during and after grilling was a good step as it allowed for caramelization of the edges for a slight crunch, and extra taste on consumption. Service was good and attractive. I don’t pay the rent, but the prices were a buck or two higher across the board here than in similar breakfast houses. It would be more acceptable had the seating been as pleasant as the breakfast. Perhaps, a table seating would solve this issue, but it is hard to understand why management hasn’t realized how disagreeable the stools are, and done something about it. Until that happens, it is difficult to be a fan, no matter how good the meal may be.

It’s my first try and my daughter warned me not to have too high of an expectation. It turned out that my daughter was right. We ordered 3PJ specials — the bacons were dry and tasteless and the pancakes were nothing special. The service were very good.

The best breakfast/brunch food in the central jersey area by far. The staff is extremely attentive & pleasant and the food is exceptional. There is always a line & a wait on the weekends but I can guarantee 110% that it is worth the wait. My family has also made it a summer tradition to start Sundays off with some breakfast at PJ’s & we wouldn’t have it any other way! Keep being great guys. We really do appreciate you all here!

I think 3 stars is perfectly appropriate. I came here one morning trying to kill time before a nearby meeting. The place was absolutely packed with college kids and at 28 I was one of the oldest people in the restaurant. The omelet was average, the hash browns were really phenomenal. The staff was really great. I did feel like I was back in New Jersey when I saw that the Pancake House had a whole pasta/Italian section(Is there a single restaurant in New Jersey that doesn’t serve pasta?). Seriously, stick to what you specialize in.

What used to be, is no more. While PJ’s has expanded, it is rapidly decending into a place. It saddens to me come to terms with the PJ’s franchise becoming no more. I made the decision to never set foot into PJ’s Pancake House Princeton location again. After three bad visits, each one worse than the other, I’ve come to the realization that what used to make this place thrive for years, has diminished. I started dining at Café 44, on Leigh Ave, whenever I was in the area for an early morning appointment. This became my go to spot satisfy my breakfast cravings, but with their new hours, and my refusal to dine at PJ’s Princeton, I found myself in a pickle when I was in Princeton a couple of weeks ago. Since it is quite difficult to grab breakfast after 10:30 in the immediate area, I decided my next best option was to give the new PJ’s location in West Windsor a try. The West Windsor location is brighter, and bigger. My waitress was certainly more attentive and professional than the entire staff at Princeton. The food was slightly better but really did nothing to reverse my opinion on the current state of PJ’s Pancake house overall.

My second visit to this place and I was extremely pleased with the food and service both times. Had their Anjou Pear salad the last time and the classic omlett this time. The sweet potato hash browns were really good and so was the bread. Great place for friends to hang out. The service was great both times. Very friendly.

One of my favorite breakfast brunch spots in Princeton /West Windsor. I usually get eggs and pancakes(and it’s rare for breakfast places to let you have pancakes with eggs, since usually you only get a choice of potatoes). The chefs are great with varying orders for customization, and the pancakes are delicious, consistent in density. The ingredients are fresh, if you ever get any fruit pancakes and smoothies, you’ll notice fresh fruit instead of frozen fruit(and the smoothies are made with ice, Greek yogurt, and honey!) The new and old PJ’s look completely different, if you want the hole in the wall feel, go to the Princeton location. The West Windsor location is newer :)
