Positives: Location in beautiful down town And quality of food is excellent! Negative: hamburgers are very small you need to order a DBL to really get meat, which makes it a little pricy.

First time here and tried the all day breakfast burger… Comes with cheese, chunky potato hash browns, egg & bacon.(Actually has fried onions as well but left them off.) Did I mention the maple syrup? Very gooey messy amazing taste experience. Paid around $ 8 and feel was very good value for what you get. I passed on getting a side and certainly was glad I did as it is one filling sandwich. Will definitely be back and order again. Nice space as well and the tune between ordering & getting the food was super fast!

I’m with my Unilocal pal Chris S. on this rating. BurgerFi is clearly a well thought out, nicely decorated and pleasant space to grab some food and drink. I’m not normally a chain hambuger kind of guy and what really drew me here were friends playing a music gig. For that reason I commend the ownership for supporting live music which is important to me personally. The chest thumping marketing aside about their business model which I found tedious, my experience was clearly marred by someone running the counter that hadn’t been properly trained. «I’m not a beer drinker,» when you ask about one of their beers on tap doesn’t get very far with me. That’s the same as saying, «I’m sorry, I can’t help you.» They are generous with samples those but I ended up sticking with something familiar. The burgers are definitely cute, branded of course which you already knew, but my goodness… smallest burger I’ve ever received, and taste-wise, just good. Not great, nothing particularly interesting. The onion rings are monsters but taste-wise, didn’t find much going on that interested me. Good, not great. Two burgers, two beers, onion rings, $ 25. Cha-ching. In a town with some really spectacular burger choices downtown, this is OK, but not my kind of place. In this instance I think the current average rating of 3.5 stars by all Unilocal users is accurate.

A friend and I had dinner here last night. She got a double with swiss and fries with parm+herb and garlic sauce. Both were delicious. I got the Breakfast All Day Burger with onion rings ANDALSO the Vienna Beef dog, Chicago style. Holy crap. Our only issue was the onion rings were still doughy and undersalted but everything was really tasty. That BAD burger is the perfect late night burger. Maple syrup, a hashbrown, american cheese, bacon and a friend egg. Yeah. You can’t make that better.

Probably one of the best veggie burgers I have ever had… I put extra burgerfi sauce on it. So good. Love the fries with the sauce too. A bit on the expensive side though.

This was really good. Great assortment of different kinds of hamburgers. They do hotdogs too. I didn’t try the hotdog. The onion rings and French fries were excellent! Great vibe. Great food.

This isn’t a place I would choose to come back to. When we arrived, the cashier began to take our order, then stopped to talk to another worker about the tip jar. The burgers weren’t bad, but just ok. The buns were cold, like they just came out of the bag. The fries are good. All in all, it’s not a place I could recommend to friends or family. There are many other places in town where you can get really good service and a great burger for the same price.

So delicious! The ingredients are fresh. They cook the meat wonderfully. The different toppings on the fries are awesome. I suggest them Urban style; Parmesan, herbs, and garlic aioli. The burgers aren’t enormous, but you can always add more patties if that’s what you want. Yum. Yum. Yum.

I first had burgerfi in Virginia a couple of months ago and I wanted to give it another shot. I had the conflicted burger and it was pretty damn awesome. The veggie patty was crispy but still tasty. And the burger was perfect. They should let you know that when you order fries with your food that they literally cover your tray with them, so you can just order one order of fries for two people. I’ll def go again.

Reviews I had read were mixed, but having been out of the country since they opened, I had to give them a shot. Here is the low-down … Pros 1) Clean, inviting atmosphere 2) Prices seemed reasonable at first glance 3) Service was friendly and efficient 4) Burgers, fries, and onion rings tasted great 5) Beer special, $ 2 for a cup of IPA, was a bargain 6) Bathrooms were clean Cons 1) $ 27, not including $ 4 for the beer, is not exactly cheap for two burgers, a small order of fries and small onion rings 2) My $ 10 burger was ridiculously small, somewhere between a White Castle«Slider» and a McDonald’s double cheeseburger If you pay $ 10 for a burger, you should expect to need both hands to eat it. Mine was a one-hander and, other than Whitey One-Bites, the smallest hamburger I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the two cons overshadow the six pros in this case and, therefore … CombatCritic Gives BurgerFi A Middle Of The Road 5 Out Of 10 Bombs … More Bombs Are Better!

The burgers here are great. I usually stop by on Friday/Saturday night because they stay open until 12:00 a.m. on those nights. Which makes it the Ideal place to grab some munchies after hitting the bars near by. Love the bacon burger with guac!

Fresh food! I had the burger with the lettuce bun at like 2 am and it was amazing! My husband says he’s been here before and likes it also. Their fries have the cool seasoning options which are good but I’ve never been completely pleased with any place that does this because it’s just never a strong enough taste. Anyway great spot and will eat here again.

We were visiting Lawrence for a wedding — and pre-wedding we had some time to shop downtown Lawrence. Our hotel, while great, didn’t have much to offer for breakfast, so we had to get some more food… We decided on Burgerfi, it looked good… however, we were soon greatly disappointed when our burger arrived. My husband and I generally share a burger from places like this — because they tend to be huge. This one was not. For $ 22 we got a burger, cry & fry, and a malt. Our burger was TINY. It was about the size of a McDouble(just with fatter patties). There was barely ANY blue cheese on it — and it was hidden between the two patties, while the swiss was huge. The tomatoes and lettuce had a funky taste to it — they had to be removed from the burger. The bun looked totally smashed on top of the burger — didn’t look fresh at all. For $ 10 — I would expect a much larger burger(the pictures showed the burgers much much larger), with better tasting meat and overall better taste! The Cry & Fry was great… And I wish we were asked before sprinkles were added to our malt — no indication on the menu that our malt would be ruined with sprinkles. My husband went to share his disappointment with the server(who had originally told us that the burgers were quite large and she sometimes can’t finish them — maybe after eating 2 or 3???) and all she could say was«oh sorry». Overall a great disappointment, and we won’t be visiting a Burgerfi anytime soon.

BurgerFi is an excellent burger for post-drinking and a pretty decent burger at other times. I have been to BurgerFi a half-dozen times when drunk, and once when sober. This is only somewhat by choice — it isn’t that I’m avoiding the place when sober, but that it is so very, very appealing when drunk. It’s just a few doors down from my usual bar, and when midnight to one a.m. hits and you are hungry for something to eat before crawling into bed, BurgerFi is there calling to you like the Lorelei. BurgerFi is a late-comer in the faster-casual gourmet burger scene, and it already faces some stiff competition in Lawrence. A scant couple of blocks away, The Burger Stand and Dempsey’s contend with lines most evenings and substantial waits for open tables. In the other direction, KC Smokeburger plies a somewhat different product in the same genre, and Bigg’s and Five Guys have satellite locations for other burger-seekers. BurgerFi is a chain, but it does have a bonus of being speedy, and like the old real estate adage, «location, location, location». The fare at BurgerFi is fairly standard — burgers and double burgers, cheeseburgers, a menu of add-on toppings, several pre-designed burgers, and fries and onion rings. One thing that BurgerFi has that some other chain places do not is a liquor license, and they sell beer and boozy milkshakes(sometimes their special on Boulevard Tank 7 is a great price for a full pour). When you order you get a radio-frequency puck to set in the middle of the table. The puck is to show the servers where to deliver your food, and it flashes to show you that your food is on the way. The buns on the burgers also have«BURGERFI» branded into them as though they were wrangled up in a great cattle-drive in the back(though I’m pretty sure the branding is pre-emblazoned, it’s not seared on each piece of bread on a burger-by-burger basis. I generally think the fries are rather good, and you can get them with Parmesan and herb. I’m apparently in the minority in that I do not care for BurgerFi’s onion rings. The onion rings are as though someone sliced through the middle of a whole onion and separated the halves into domes. They’re too damned thick(*shakes old man fist in the air*) I would say that BurgerFi is a decent burger, and it’s in a great central spot to catch a lot of daytime and late-night business. But, I’m afraid it’s not at the top of my list of places I’m going to think about going to first to get a burger, not while there are other places I would hit first mere blocks away.

I believe the Burgerfi company is owned by the Nickel and Dimed Co. Burgers are small and they found that selling their wares a la-cart will net them more mad loot for their pockets… They give you a bunch of fries(ever wonder why Mericans are hugelyl fat and spit…) but isn’t cheap… how about less fries for less money… Hey, their food isn’t bad, really isn’t…just not worth the $$$$ In closing, if you use you parent’s credit cards and money to get by and nothing comes out of your pocket, try it… if you make your own car payment, go elsewhere

Expensive. If I’m going to pay $ 15 for a burger and fries at lunch it better be spectacular and the service better be exquisite. While the burger was good, unfortunately for Burgerfi, Lawrence has many places that serve great burgers. So for $ 15/person your customer service experience should be the best in town. It’s far from it, if we order a cheeseburger we shouldn’t have to come back up to the counter with a cheeseless burger and ask for the cheese we paid up front for. And your response shouldn’t be «Are you sure you ordered cheese?». Very disappointed overall, if the burger wasn’t as good as it was you’d be getting one star.

I really enjoyed this place. First things first. It’s a simple menu. If you want something other than a burger, hotdog, and fries, then you need to go elsewhere. I had the veggie burger and it was amazing. Hands down. the best in this town. My boyfriend had a regular burger and also enjoyed it. The fries were tasty too. I would definitely go back!

$ 17.30 for a burger, fries and a beer. For that price it better be a damn good burger! Unfortunately it is not spectacular, it is average. Are the burgers all natural, yes, do they work hard to promote themselves as environmentally conscious, yes, but unfortunately for the price the food falls flat on its face. Back to the food in a moment, but here is a tip: not all the food options are on the menu board, there is a «secret» menu. Sounds cool right? Actually not that much of a secret, if you look online or even on the printed pamphlet next to the register it is right there for you to view. I will provide a picture of this menu for you to view. Now the first time I came here I was unaware of this until I sat down with my meal and overheard people talking. Truth be told I was a little pissed. Had I known about some of the options in the«secret» menu I would have ordered them instead. Silly of me to assume the printed menu and the board differ. Don’t get me wrong, I like the idea of a secret menu, say a particular chef has an unprinted specialty or you visit a Chinese restaurant and they have the americanized version printed but if you ask they have authentic Chinese dishes as well. Yet the attempt by Burgerfi to increase their cool factor fails. If it’s in the printed menu it should be on the board. I have had the following: Burgerfi Cheese Burger, Alternative Burger, Salt & Vinegar fries, Red Velvet Custard, & Urban Fries. None of the above were bad, but not great either and for the price, two or three steps below what I would have expected. If the price were on par with the offerings I would have given this 3 stars – an average burger joint – but the price knocks it down to 2 stars. The take away, if you are looking for a unique or gourmet burger in Lawrence try either Dempsey’s or The Burger Stand at the Casbah. Both are locally owned and both will elate your taste buds. If you just want a good but run of the mill burger, I think you will find Culvers or Five Guys offer similar quality at a more competitive price point. Finally, the service. Top notch. Great people and superb service. Very helpful and courteous. I wanted a frozen custard on my last visit, the machine was down so they gave me a coupon for ½ off the next visit for the inconvenience. Love that they take care of you. The service is what brought me back after a disappointing first visit. I wanted to give them a second try. Despite the service, I left both times regretting my purchase considering the cash I spent. To justify the price I needed either a.) truly unique offerings, or b.) exceptional quality. Neither requirement was met in my experiences at Burgerfi.

BurgerFi is like that«friend» you had in high school that always tried too hard to be cool. The restaurant is bright, shiny, and full of clever gadgets to dispense flatware. The staff radiates faux enthusiasm for hamburgers(prodded on by the manager on staff). The décor is a cross of Apple store meets steampunk, meets trendy sports bar. The point is that it looks like a pricey setup, and you can just guess who that cost gets passed onto. My girlfriend and I were readily informed by the lady working the register that there was a «secret menu,» which is literally right inside the regular menu(ahem, trying too hard). We both ordered the Hippy Burger from the super-secret-don’t-tell-anybody-menu; the manager also gave us the life story of the guy the burger is named after(not kidding about this). You can get the burgers with a wide variety of specialty toppings(for an additional $ 1 per topping), so I got my burger with salt and vinegar chips; when I got my burger I there were literally only 4 chips on my burger. We also ordered salt and vinegar fries and two beers. Total cost of our meal was $ 37 and change. Let me repeat that: for two burgers, one order of fries, and two beers it was $ 37! All of the food tasted fine, but that price is a serious deterrent of me ever going back to BurgerFi. They could get rid of all of the flat panel TVs, Nikola Tesla lighting fixtures and all of the other unnecessary pomp, and the price of a meal would probably drop significantly.

A bit pricey. Good quality ingredients. Crispy and interesting fries. The burgers… just no zip; they lack flavor or any compelling anything. Even with toppings, they just don’t sing. The menu doesn’t help — with four primary offerings(burger, hot dog, veggie burger, fries) they make things too complicated and confusing. Any burger joint in this town has to compare to the Burger Stand. This one fails; the guys ordering the ingredients do a fine job, but the way they are combined by the kitchen leads to a lackluster result. Also, the«fresh squeezed» lemonade isn’t. Bathroom is fine — piped in music is a plus.
