The best meat pie in the area !!! Always has been. If you’re looking for ambiance, I suggest going elsewhere, but if you’re looking for a damn good meat pie or pizza? Stop in and give it a try. You will not be disappointed. John puts his heart and soul into this little shop and it shows in the food. I LOVEPIZZAKING!!!

Wow, I’m shocked at a 5 star rating anywhere, but especially for this place? Are they paying people off? It’s atrocious pizza. We ordered a large pepperoni and the entire thing was a mess of grease, cheese that wouldn’t stick to to dough and burnt to a crisp pepperoni. It looked exactly like the pizza i the photo from John H, but he gave it a 4 star review. Maybe I’m missing something, but you folks that like it can keep it, it’s beyond awful.

Small sausage and pepperoni and I’m in heaven. This place is the real deal, New England Italian style pizza. I’ve eaten here a couple times in a week and I can’t wait to go back. The pizza is so good I haven’t even tried another set of toppings because I’m hooked.

Great pizza shop off of Salem St. I came in at 2:20 pm on a Sunday and they were understandably quiet. I gave my order of a large mushroom pizza to the mid-50’s owner behind the counter and was offered choice of beverage. The pizza took about 10 – 15 minutes at most and was nice and hot. It had good texture and flavor but fresh mushrooms would have been better than canned.

«One Of The Best» John Sapienza really is The Pizza King. This place is worth going out of your way for — just not on Mondays and Tuesdays when he’s closed. For the rest of the week, you’ll enjoy homemade sauce, homemade sausage, all the other usual suspects, and a great crust, plus John’s scintillating personality. John’s meat and/or spinach pies are also worth checking out. No salads, no wings — just some of the best pizza around. He’s just off I-495 — parking is a breeze right out in front. BTW — my personal favorite is sausage, roasted red peppers, and garlic. John is a really decent guy. I always enjoy talking to him when I’m there. Be sure to check out the revolving artwork he exhibits — pretty compelling fodder for a ‘pizza joint.’ But, as I said, John really is The Pizza King. It doesn’t get any better.

I travel around the merrimac valley quite a bit for my job & I’m always on the look out for great local flavor. I NEVER miss an opportunity to stop by Pizza King. The pizza is damn good but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Because I’m from Utah, the best part of the experience for me is always the owners of these places. Today I walked in & he stared at me like I was trespassing, no «hello» or «what can I do for you» — just staring. After looking at him for 3 – 4 seconds in silence I asked him if they were open, the dialogue went as follows: Me: you open? Him: you’re in here aren’t you? Me: just looking for some quick lunch. Him: nods his head & looks at the pizza sitting on the counter. Me: besides pizza Him: sub(not a question — more of a statement) Me: surprise me Him: go take a seat He brought me out the best meat ball sub I’ve ever had.

Just got back with a lg roni and mushroom pie. I haven’t been here for several yrs and they’ve done some nice renovations to the building yet the pizza still remains the same, simply amazing pizza! Light crispy crust with a wonderfully seasoned sauce with just the rt amount of mozzarella cheese. Odd hrs being open only Weds to Sun but well worth the inconvenience of the hrs.

This small pizza shop in Lawrence has some of the best pizza in New England. Old school pizza the way I love it. There meat pies are also amazing, my personal favorite is the spicy meat pie. Try it once and your hooked for life. I’ve been eating here for over 30 years. If you need a great pie try it and you’ll be glad you did.

Biased? You bet I am. I’ve been going to see«The King» since I was a little kid. The pizza is great. Nothing like a chain pizza and a standout compared to the individually owned pizza mediocrity that is so prevalent. But forget about the pizza. It’s the spinach pies(aka spinach cookies to me) and the meat pies that make this place worth a long drive. The spinach pies are creamy with cheese and the dough is perfectly sweet. The meat pies are like many that you will find from Revere to Hampton Beach; a stuffed pizza dough. The difference at Pizza King is that this s*** is perfect. Juicey, but not greasy. I order mine spicy(red Pepper flakes) and extra cheese. Pick up a couple of take out meat pies and a dozen spinach pies and show up the host at your next house party.
