I Love this place and my kids adore it. Great selection of toys you can’t find just anywhere. Sometimes I get sticker shock, so I only buy stuff you can’t get at Target or other big box retailers.

I absolutely adore this place! I don’t have kids, but a ton of my friends and family do. I love going in and seeing all the options. They have a so many games, books, and crafts. Really anything you can think of for children, you will find here. In addition to modern toys, they have some vintage toys too that bring back memories. I could spend hours here very easily!

This local business is a downtown treasure. The staff is friendly and helpful, the selection on toys and games is great. I especially love the large selection of educational/science/tech toys that are appropriate for a wide range of ages. The prices for these toys are in line with other high-end stores, and the prices for the less technical toys seem surprisingly reasonable(without kiddos of my own, I only shop for nephew and friends’ kids gifts, but I was pleased with what I could purchase in my price range). The book selection and stuffed animal menagerie is also very nice. I really appreciate the open areas of building blocks and hands on toys for children and the amazing leggo building contest that they host each year. A great stop for the young and the young-at-heart.

It’s a full service toy and book store with an enormous selection. Much nicer than any big chain; you must visit all the floors. They have a lot of cool stuff, to include the toy versions of the characters from your favorite children’s books. All good.

We love The Toy Store. Staff are helpful and competent, even the young people who work here. Today I pointed out a safety hazard and they fixed it — immediately. Prices can be high on some items because the smaller stores can’t negotiate those Target prices, but it’s worth the charm of the location.

Within a minute of shopping… Employee: «Is there anything I can help you find?» Me: «Oh, I’m just looking around for Christmas gifts.» «What age?» «…my husband.» How much fun is it to visit a local toy store? They have all kinds of things, and for all ages — the kind employee knew right where to point me. I found a toy that I think my husband will like on his desk at work, exactly what I was looking for. Great variety on the main level, from stuffed animals and games to smaller«knick knack» toys to entertain little ones while out shopping that only cost a dollar or two. I didn’t realize they had a downstairs ’til yesterday! It’s mostly books and puzzles. Who knew the place was so big!

Please go downstairs and visit the book section! It is HUGE!!! I had no idea they had books for the longest time! Their selection of 0−6m toys is very limited, but they more than make up for it in the book section!

The Toy Store is adorable in every conceivable way. It’s full of toys, mostly leaning to the traditional or exotic, but with a fair selection of modern toys like Legos and such. The selection is wide and fun to browse through. It only gets better when you realize that there’s an entire basement full of books and other children’s toys. If given a choice between here and a big-box store, I will always pick The Toy Store. It has the selection and charm that actually make toy stores fun. It has so many areas and aisles to explore. It’s truly a gem of a toy store and should be experienced by anyone who’s a parent, a grandparent, and aunt or uncle, or kid-at-heart. Review: 4.5 stars.

Reason #148 this is the best toy store I’ve ever been to: There is a whole aisle devoted not only to food and cooking toys, but also an excellent collection of food themed childrens books. And that’s only one of a WHOLE lot of aisles. There’s train sections, baby dolls sections, rock science sections and body science sections, board games, scooters, building things, stuffed animal crap, hippie family kid stuff, preppy family kid stuff, country family kid stuff — it is just a gigantic and hyper well organized emporium of books and toys that you wouldn’t, couldn’t believe could ever get any better, until… you find out… THERE’S A DOWNSTAIRS and it’s almost as huge as the upstairs!!! And it’s filled with books!!! Like a Borders only filled with kid stuff!

This is another independent Lawrence merchant who works hard to give shoppers something other than the predictable Toys R Us inventory. Collectible toys, Eurotoys, quirky stocking stuffers and Easter basket ingredients — you’ll find them at the Toy Store. The new location isn’t as much fun as the old place, where stairs and little walled-off nooks made the store seem like a big people’s playground. But the new store holds more, which may mean visiting fewer places to find the perfect toy for the child on your list.

I found a Super Mondo Inside-Out ball at The Toy Store. The store also has two levels. Enough has been said and this review is now complete. Enjoy the Toy Store.

This is, by far, my kids favorite store and easily in my top 10. They have all the classics and a huge variety of new stuff too. Go downstairs to see the books also. Best toy store I’ve ever seen.
