We noticed this store from across the street and had to go check it out. What a great place to find unusual gifts, great t-shirts, fossils, rocks, and all kinds of posters and a variety of sciencey gifts. Everything from jewelry, microscopes, probes, life sized stand up StarTrek figures, and great and friendly service. Perfect for the geeky and the lovers of nature.

Definitely worth the stop in if you pass by :) Very anatomy/scientific based store which is fantastic! Not at all what I imagined with the signage. Bought one of their anatomy shirts of the muscular system! Have posters diagrams and figures of the systems also, really fun to look through! And some militaty items in back room along with cases of jewelry and bones :)

I can’t believe I hadn’t gone in here before. It’s the perfect place for intellectuals, curious kids, and science geeks — and a great place to look for gifts for them. Subjects range from bugs to dinosaurs to stars to chemistry(and on and on…) They have a fine variety of all kinds of science-y things, and it’s such a fun shop to browse. The prices are good and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable, happy to answer any questions — and you know you’re going to have some. You might leave learning something new.

Yes, I bought a ring with a beetle enclosed in the plastic from this store. And I lost it, and then I went back and bought a ring with an ant enclosed in the plastic. I still have that one. I think next time I’ll buy earrings that match the ring. I stop here every time I visit Lawrence. I like this store. It has not only bugs enclosed in plastic to wear as jewelry but it has sterling silver bugs as well, for earrings, and rings, and charms keychains. Infact, it has all kinds of stuff, not just buggy things. They have human parts, as well, like the brain jello mold I bought here. While I like the fossils and rocks, and body parts and some bugs, I also enjoy the oddities such as a cricket sucker. I’d never eat a cricket sucker, but I suppose it has protein in it. It’s really a cool store, no where else like it. I visit this store if I had work in Lawrence, or if I happen to visit Lawrence, on Mass street. Mass. Street is my mega shopping extravaganza, and this is one of the awesome stores available.

Like most kids, in my younger days I used to want to be a an entomologist. Fascinated by hairy spider legs, butterfly wings and fly eyes, I could study bugs for endless summer hours. The grown up in me realized how much school it takes to earn a degree. BUT, I still study bugs in my spare time – yes, you can call me a freak… hah! So there I was in Lawrence, window shopping before my appointment and I walk by Wild Territory. Inside I saw my beloved butterfly’s pinned in glass, starfish, minerals, and taxidermied snakes. They had kid friendly science kits, adult collectibles, and kitschy tees and toys for those who don’t take themselves so seriously. It was a fun, small store worth taking a peek at. Reminded me of a gift shop you’ll find at a state park or natural history store.

Is there a scientist in your life? An inquisitive child? Or do you yourself have an insatiable thirst for knowledge? If so, Wild Territory is the store for you. There’s something for everyone from gemologists to astronomers at Wild Territory. I think of it as kind of a Discovery Channel store with a little more emphasis on real science and some kitsch throw in for good measure. Purely science-minded individuals probably disapprove when time pieces and the musculoskeletal system are combined, but if you think skeleton clocks are cool Wild Territory will be right up your alley. Personally, I don’t think learning is ever a bad idea. After all I’m no scientist so I must have picked up the word musculoskeletal somewhere! If you can pick up a gift or something for yourself at Wild Territory that expands your mind — even a little bit — it could replace some of those dendrites you killed down the street at Free State, or the Granada, or Jackpot Saloon …
